Merry holidays and happy seasons to all! We hope this week’s episode, on the eve of Christmas, finds everyone in the holiday spirit and eager to hear about two stories starring guys named Nick. Because you can’t have a holiday romance without a dude named Nicholas who falls head over heels for a single mom who’s just had a nasty divorce from a super sucky husband. Wait… did we read the same book? Nope. Calina’s Nick comes from Big Nick Energy by Morgan Elizabeth and Saylet’s Nicholas stars in Santa’s Coming: A spicy Christmas romance novella by Serena Pier. ***We would love and appreciate it if you could subscribe, rate & review! This episode we are joined by special guest J. M. Frey to discuss her very Canadian, super cozy, dragon romance with just a touch of social commentary. We discuss the romance between Colin and Dav that starts with a kitchen fire and ends with upending the societal structures as they know it. What happens when you get everything your heart desires but you don’t recognize it when you do? If you are someone who wishes we could just keep politics out of reading then you’ll want to skip this episode, and frankly the whole podcast!  ***We would love and appreciate it if you could subscribe, rate & review! S. E. is back on the show! We are excited to welcome Sarah back to discuss her book “No Words After I Love You.” This week’s book is a sweet romance and we meet Meg and Charlie, the bestest and oldest of friends who bicker, laugh, and love throughout this story. When they learn they are going to lose Gina, Charlie’s wife to cancer, they are overcome with grief and the weight of losing someone they love most. On her deathbed, Gina makes them each secretly promise that they will take care of each other and love each other after she passes. This story is about two people who are fighting battles of their own darkness and past losses; Charlie discovers Gina’s indiscretion and Meg’s absent mother is also dying, begging for her forgiveness. Guys. This is when we call a friends-off episode. One of us loves this book, the other hates it. Can you guess which one of us was like, “Hell yeah! Cora and her sisters are American heiresses to a generous dowry that they can’t quite acquire until they’ve each met one specific requirement: marry a suitable husband. But since their legitimacy is questioned among New Yorkers and accents are more fun, Cora decides she and her sisters will go across the pond to search for their matches - but only long enough to obtain their dowries, of course. When Cora meets the money-stricken Earl of Devonworth - Leo - a devious plan ensues. They will fake marry for a few years, perhaps have some heirs, and then get divorced and go their separate ways after Cora has shared part of her dowry. They won’t fall in love. Because, they never do… right. What kind of books do you think we read here? Join us for another steamy historical romance. ***We would love and appreciate it if you could subscribe, rate & review!
