Krista Kiessling and CK Kramer, relatives of previous podcast guests, visit from Owens' Center for Campus and Community Connections to discuss the surging community needs at their Harvest Food Pantry.  First, nothing's changed, and what exploded in my mailbox!? We crawl for so many things in the area. What's one more? Though this isn't a tasty beverage, but inviting area community theater. Amber Wilkes, who started up the Curtain Crawl under her project Go See A Show Toledo, is here to talk all about this fun 'competition.'  First, what to say Saturday, and, yes, please change your mind!   See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Sara Eiden from the Maumee Indoor and Charles Wetzel from FilmToledo visit to preview this weekend's Maumee Film Festival. Within that, why is the Indoor's popcorn SO good? Why has the Indoor changed some of what they're showing? How are things at new space FilmToledo has downtown in a kind of Creative's Corner.  First, I'm just the right age to be giving this so much of my money.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

After some time in Los Angeles, Grand Rapids' Caly Bevier is back home. You may remember her from some past show visits (and past shows) and from her first touch of fame, as a cancer survivor getting the Golden Buzzer on AGT. Before we catch up with Caly, I hope IT is the the fix for all the current questions people have about it. Technologies often are.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

As I contemplate the words and sentiments I want to share during my hosting duties for the upcoming AFSP walk, let's get a preview of the day with walk Chair Peggy Myers.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's been too long since I've had my friend Laura Simmons-Wark from Humane Ohio in for a visit. She's got the culmination of their fun Pints for Paws event coming up to invite you to, but first, she can share the story of how we became friends and how she got me my second dog, who is here. And so is Nessie! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Old school. No video. Just audio here you and me! It's terribly deflating that it's likely the Blade will close up shop. WMU should just say f**k it, we won, and let others decide on their own what to do with that First, a predictable meltdown and the Titanic is just fine! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We've modified how we're doing Community Baby Shower - the brainchild of Alex, who's here(!) - and we're hoping after you listen to this episode, you'll feel so inclined to donate a few, or a lot of items! BABY SHOWER INFO! First, the Monnette's AI discourse.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A new guest to the podcast, and a topic we've certainly never discussed - skateboarding! I've been familiar with Nick's exceptional videography and photography for a very long time. Great to have him in to talk about this event, where the photos will be on skateboards! And what's skateboard culture like in Toledo? Monroe Comic Con that is! A preview of it with the guy who started it up, with the help of many friends and family, Gary Pillette. Very excited and thankful he lets me do my show there during preview night on September 11th, and I once again get to bring some stuff to sell. First up, what so many have been talking about. I'm for them. And I'm for HARSH punishment for their misuse. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

My dear friend Dr. Andrea Mata from Brightspot Families returns to share new on a virtual parent project she's working on.  Also... Riding in carts. Past third spaces haven't really gone away. The largest demo that's coming to her and her team for help. And an all around hearty mental health discussion. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

My good Dorothy Mockensturm from Good Grief returns as they have volunteer training on the near horizon. She also introduces us to her new-ish Program Manager, Haleigh Galnares.  First, since Lebron has signed have the hottest, most sought after free agent on the market! I also have Jonas Brother tickets for the radio audience. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

GOTCHA! It's not Toledo Public Schools, though with school returning and the transformative times the district is in you were as fooled as I was, when Janelle Metzger from Water for Ishmael reached out wanting to talk TPS. Temporary Protected Status. This is not a distant or unimportant issue as Findlay has a robust community of Haitians at risk.  Before Janelle will get us all up to speed on TPS... One of my favorite Hens days of the year, the final tally of weekend things, and an all time bad season finale.    See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today's guest played an integral role in ensuring I could stay here when things went (predictably) sideways with my work in 2017.  A few weeks ago we had a speaker from Rotary on. Now let's have their historic new President in to really dive into what they do besides having weekly Toledo mini Ted Talks. First, THIS IS YOUR WEEKEND! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

“When we see an animal struggling, chances are that person is struggling as well.” That's a quote from a 13 ABC story with new Executive Director of the Toledo Humane Society, Sam Wolbert.  Sam expounds on that sentiment as we get to know him and what his vision is for a very important part of our community, especially the dogs ;) First, next week is the official OFFICIAL retirement of There's Nothing To Do In Toledo.    See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
