Who really owns everything we have? In Week 3 of Beyond These Walls, Pastor Allen Nolan explains the biblical principle of divine ownership and how it shapes our giving, priorities, and future. As Cornerstone prepares for its next chapter, we’re reminded that this vision is about more than a building—it’s about reaching people and making room for future generations. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” — Psalm 24:1

In 1 Samuel 25, the death of Samuel marks the end of an era. From hearing God’s voice as a child to leading Israel, confronting Saul, and anointing David, Samuel lived with remarkable courage, integrity, and obedience. Yet Samuel died before seeing David crowned king. His story reminds us that God’s servants may faithfully begin a work without living to see its fulfillment. Our responsibility is obedience—the outcome belongs to God. We may not see every harvest, but no act of faithfulness is wasted, and God’s purposes continue beyond our lifetime. #Samuel #1Samuel #BibleStudy #Faithfulness #Obedience #PastorAllen

In this sermon from 1 Samuel 21–22, we examine the tragic story of Doeg the Edomite, Saul’s paranoia, and the slaughter of the priests at Nob. Through this passage, we learn how unrepented sin hardens the heart, how fear can twist our perception of truth, and why obedience to God must come before obedience to man. This message challenges us to confront sin early, guard our hearts from bitterness and suspicion, and live with humility, truth, and a right heart before God.

Even while David was being hunted, God was still at work behind the scenes. This message highlights the importance of godly encouragement, trusting God’s promises when circumstances look impossible, and remembering that betrayal, danger, and hardship cannot stop God's purpose.

What do you do when the thing you’ve been waiting and praying for is suddenly right in front of you—but taking it would mean compromising your integrity? In this message from 1 Samuel 24, we look at David in the cave at En Gedi, where Saul unknowingly walks right into his hands. David’s men see it as the perfect opportunity, but David chooses to wait on God instead of taking matters into his own hands. This story reminds us of a powerful truth: if we have to sin to get it, it isn’t God’s will.

In this message from 1 Samuel 23, we follow David as he seeks God’s guidance before rescuing Keilah from the Philistines. Through David’s obedience, victory, and unexpected danger, we learn that doing the right thing doesn’t always make life easier, but God remains faithful and wise in every situation.

When David moved his family to Moab, he found safety from Saul’s threats—but God called him back to Judah through the prophet Gad. This message explores why God sometimes leads us out of comfort and into adversity. Through David’s journey and James 1:2-4, we’re reminded that trials test our faith, build endurance, and shape us for God’s purpose. Growth often happens not in the stronghold of safety, but in the challenges God uses to mature us.
