God Scatters His People | Acts 8:1-25 | Pastor Josh Wootton
2026/09/13
In Acts 8:1–25, God uses the persecution and scattering of His people to spread the greatness of Christ beyond Jerusalem and throughout the world. As the church is attacked and believers are dispersed, Philip goes to Samaria preaching the good news of salvation through Christ, and the people respond with great joy as they discover that Jesus is greater than anything this world has to offer.
Yet the passage also introduces Simon the magician, whose pursuit of greatness provides a warning about the danger of being captivated by counterfeits and even trying to use God as a means to achieve something greater for ourselves. As the Samaritans encounter the true greatness of Christ, the contrast between what merely looks great and what is truly great becomes unmistakable.
In this sermon, “God Scatters His People,” we’ll see how God spreads His greatness through His people, how we can recognize the difference between the counterfeit and the real, and how salvation means more than simply admiring God’s greatness—it means receiving Christ and being transformed by His Spirit. Ultimately, we are called to forsake the lesser greatnesses of this world, bask in the surpassing greatness of Christ, and make His greatness known wherever God sends us.
Stephen's Example | Acts 6:8-7:60 | Pastor Josh Wootton
2026/09/06
In Acts 6:8–7:60, Stephen faced a world that rejected the truth of God and ultimately killed him for faithfully proclaiming it. Accused of speaking against God’s law and the temple, Stephen responded by tracing Israel’s history and showing that the real problem was not that he had changed God’s law or worship, but that they had repeatedly rejected the people God sent, distorted true worship, and ultimately rejected Jesus, the Messiah.
Stephen’s confidence came from knowing that God had revealed Himself through His Word and that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of God’s promises, the true Redeemer, and the only One worthy of worship. Even as he was being stoned, Stephen remained faithful, looking to Christ and trusting that what appears to be loss in this life is eternal gain in the life to come.
In this sermon, “Stephen’s Example,” we’ll see what it means to rightly follow God’s law and worship, how to recognize and expose false worship, and how knowing Christ gives us the confidence to remain faithful—even when the world hates us—for we know that only what is done for Christ will last.
How Big Is Your View Of God? | Revelation 4+5 | Dr. Steve Wellum
2026/08/30
In Revelation 4–5, John is given one of the most breathtaking visions in all of Scripture, revealing the glory of God on His throne and the worthiness of the Lamb who redeems His people.
The spiritual health of the church is directly connected to our view of God, and what we desperately need today is a renewed and greater vision of who He is. Revelation 4 presents God as the incomprehensible, absolutely authoritative, unapproachably holy, and unrivaled sovereign Creator, reminding us that He is utterly unique, perfectly righteous, and worthy of our complete allegiance, love, and obedience.
Revelation 5 then turns our attention to the scroll, the challenge of who is worthy to open it, and the glorious Lion-Lamb who alone is worthy. In this sermon, “How Big Is Your View of God?”, we’ll see the greatness and holiness of God, the worthiness and deity of Christ, and how a proper vision of God should lead us to reverent awe and wholehearted worship.
Working Wisely | Acts 6:1-7 | Pastor Josh Wootton
2026/08/23
In Acts 6:1–7, the early church faced a problem that every healthy church must learn to navigate: how do we faithfully care for people while keeping the mission of proclaiming the gospel at the center?
As the church grew, internal conflict, physical needs, and organizational challenges threatened to distract the apostles from prayer and the ministry of the Word. God provided a wise solution through the appointment of faithful servants who could care for the needs of the church while the apostles remained devoted to preaching and teaching.
In this sermon, “Working Wisely,” we’ll see three kinds of problems the church must always be prepared to address, the God-given structure that helps solve them, and the result of God’s people working together according to His design: a church that remains faithfully on mission.
Undeniable Truth | Acts 5:12-42 | Pastor Josh Wootton
2026/08/16
The world’s threats will never stop Christ’s church.
In Acts 5, the early church faced threats from within and opposition from without. But corruption could not destroy them, intimidation could not silence them, and persecution could not stop the gospel from spreading.
Why? Because the church belongs to Christ.
Join us as we continue our series, Biography of the Early Church, and see the undeniable truth that Christ’s church will not be stopped.
Honest Christian Community | Acts 4:32-5:11 | Elder Ephrem Feleke
2026/08/09
What does it mean to live honestly before a holy God?
In this sermon on Acts 4:32–5:11, we see a powerful picture of the early church marked by generosity, unity, and grace—and a sobering warning, through Ananias and Sapphira, about hypocrisy, deception, and the holiness of God.
As we examine the contrast between Barnabas and Ananias, we are reminded that God is not merely concerned with our outward actions, but with the condition of our hearts. God desires a covenant community marked by generous love, honest hearts, and reverent fear because His holy presence dwells among His people.
Join us as we consider what it means to examine our motives, practice radical honesty, and live with integrity before God and others.

What does the healing of the lame man reveal about Jesus?

Pentecost: The Church Begins | Acts 2:1-13 | Elder Sam Sanford
2026/06/21
What happened on the Day of Pentecost, and why does it matter for the church today?
In Acts 2:1–13, God fulfills His promise by sending the Holy Spirit to empower His people and launch the mission of the church. On the Day of Pentecost, people from many nations heard the mighty works of God proclaimed in their own languages, demonstrating that the gospel is for all people.
In this sermon, we explore the significance of Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit, and the beginning of the church's mission to take the good news of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.
The Message of Christ Will Continue | Acts 1:12-26 | Pastor Josh Wootton
2026/06/14
Before Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, the early church was already living faithfully in quiet, ordinary ways. In Acts 1:12-26, we see the disciples gathered in prayer, devoted to Scripture, and seeking God’s guidance as they choose a replacement for Judas Iscariot.
This sermon, “The Message of Christ Will Continue,” shows how simple, faithful obedience shaped the foundation of the church. Long before miracles and rapid growth, God was working through ordinary Christian practices like prayer, fellowship, and Scripture.
The Mission of Christ Will Continue | Acts 1:1-11 | Pastor Josh Wootton
2026/06/07
In Acts 1:1–11, we see the foundation of the church laid through the life, death, resurrection, teaching, and ascension of Jesus Christ. Before ascending to the Father, Jesus commissioned His apostles, promised the power of the Holy Spirit, and shared the mission that would define His church until His return.
This sermon explores how Christ established His church, empowered it through the Holy Spirit, and called believers to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth. As we await the return of our risen King, we are reminded that our labor in the Lord is not in vain and that the mission He has given us remains unchanged.
