9-9: 900 Pounds of Muscle (Rice Recap & Army Preview)
2026/10/22
Tulsa fell behind 17-7 at Rice and then ripped off 31 unanswered points to win 38-17, snapping a three-game losing streak. Now Army comes to Chapman on Friday night for the last of the three-straight-option-games stretch.
Matt's back, and we recap the Rice win together: the halftime adjustments that shut Rice out in the second half, the fourth-and-goal Dexter Williams call, the best game of Baylor Hayes' career (again), and more before handing out our Players of the Game.
We couldn't line up a guest this week, so Ryan solos the Army preview. We walk through Cale Hellums and the guys around him, how Army's offense is different from what we just saw from Navy and Rice, an Army defense you can throw on, the last two meetings, and what Tulsa has to do to get to 5-3. Kickoff is Friday at 7:30 PM central on ESPN2.
We round things out with Around the American, including the tragedy before UTSA-Navy and Charlotte's first win of the year, the rest of the TU sports, and a reminder that hoops is right around the corner.

9-8: Finish the Freaking Game (Navy Recap & Rice Preview ft. Matthew Bartlett from The Roost)
2026/10/15
Tulsa forced four turnovers at Navy and still lost 34-26, blowing a two-score lead for the second straight week. That's three losses in a row, and now it's on to Rice for game two of the three-straight-option-games stretch.
Matt is out traveling for work, so I solo recap the Navy loss, zoom out on some broader trends of the season thus far and where things are headed, and hand out players of the game.
Then we welcome in Matthew Bartlett from The Roost to preview the Rice Owls. We talk Rice's 1-5 start and why this team is better than its record, Scott Abell's option offense, Jacurri Brown, a secondary rebuilt through the portal, the new First Community Stadium, and predictions (spoiler: we don't agree). Kickoff is Saturday at 3:30 PM central on ESPN+.
Then solo-ryan returns to round things out with JMU joining the American, the rest of Around the American, a quick run through the other TU sports, and basketball media days.

9-7: A Symphony of Football (North Texas Recap & Navy Preview ft. Mike James from The Mid Report)
2026/10/08
Tulsa lost a wild & dramatic one to North Texas: a 45-44 overtime loss on Thursday night on ESPN, coming up inches short on the two-point try to win it. Now it's on to Annapolis to start a three-week stretch of option offenses.
We recap the North Texas loss and hand out our players of the game before welcoming back Mike James from The Mid Report and the Navy Football Radio Network to preview Navy. Mike is one of our favorites and always a great conversation. We talk the Air Force loss, the QB situation, and what Navy actually runs these days (hint: it's not really the triple option anymore). Kickoff is Saturday at 2:30 PM central on CBSSN.
We round things out with Around the American, the rest of the TU sports, and a surprise listener question.

9-6: Three Rounds of Drano (Arkansas Recap & North Texas Preview ft. JD Davis from the North Texas Eagle)
2026/09/29
Undefeated no more. Tulsa went into Fayetteville and came out with an ugly 34-6 loss to Arkansas in the rain, but at 3-1 the Golden Hurricane are already halfway to bowl eligibility with conference play starting Thursday night. We recap the Arkansas game, including a defense that played a lot better than 34 points suggests, the injury updates heading into a short week, and our players of the game. We also send our condolences to Tre Lamb and his family on the passing of his grandfather, Ray Lamb. Then we welcome in JD Davis from the North Texas Eagle to preview the Mean Green. JD walks us through Neal Brown's rebuild after the exodus to Oklahoma State, Jahiem White, Tayven Jackson, and a Jekyll-and-Hyde defense. That makes three for three on North Texas Eagle guys between their show and ours. Great conversation. Kickoff is Thursday at 8:00 PM central on ESPN at H.A. 2026/09/24
Tulsa beat East Texas A&M 42-0 for their first shutout since 2002 and their first 3-0 start since 2008, but the second power five opponent of the season is up next as TU heads to Fayetteville to take on the faltering Arkansas Razorbacks.
We recap the ETAM win before welcoming in Matt Jones from WholeHogSports to help us preview the hogs. Matt was truly fantastic - I really hope you enjoy that interview.
We round things out by covering the other active TU sports and reminiscing on some old-school Hurricast stuff from years past. Fun one!

2026/09/17
Tulsa escaped Huntsville with the win and their first 2-0 start to the season since 2015. There are some things to work on this week against East Texas A&M before heading to Arkansas next week.
Matt talks about this and more this week.
Note* this episode is shorter than usual and only included football. We will be back to regular programming next week.
9-3: Beat Their A** Again (OSU Recap & Sam Houston Preview ft. Collin Neill from Sam Houston SportsTalk)
2026/09/10
Tre Lamb is a legend and we are all witnesses.
Tulsa just beat Oklahoma State in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1951-1952, and this time we got to do it at home in Tulsa. It was a beatdown and easily could've been an even larger margin of victory than the 24-10 win it was.
We have fun recapping the win over OSU and hand out our players of the game awards before moving on to Sam Houston.
To preview the Sam Houston Bearkats, we welcome in Collin Neill from Sam Houston SportsTalk! Collin was great and we learned a lot about the Bearkats in this one. Kickoff is on Saturday at 6:00 PM central.
To round things out, we take a look Around the American before running down the rest of the active TU sports - including a brief preview of the return of the Tulsa Men's Golf program! Excited to see how they do at the CSU Ram Masters in their debut.

8-26: NIT Championship Preview (ft. Zac Blackerby from Locked On Auburn)
2026/04/04
Tulsa beat New Mexico in the NIT semis to hit 30 wins for the 2nd time in program history, and will now take on the SEC's Auburn Tigers for the NIT Championship.
To preview Auburn, we welcome in Zac Blackerby from the Locked On Auburn podcast. We get into all kinds of stuff:
Vibes around Steven Pearl & the decision to even accept the NIT bid
The road win over Florida and subsequent collapse
Auburn's poor three-point defense vs our elite three-point offense
Keyshawn Hall, Tahaad Pettiford, Kevin Overton, Filip Jovic, and more personnel
The stylistic matchup we've got coming in this one
Tempo & turnovers
More
Zac was awesome. I really enjoyed talking with him. Can't wait for this game! Let's win us a title.

8-25: Near the Pinnacle
2026/03/31
The Tulsa men are in the NIT Final Four and are closing in on their first NIT Championship since 2001. Standing in their way are the New Mexico Lobos in the semifinals on Thursday at 6:00 PM central at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The winner gets Auburn or Illinois State in the championship game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (also in Indy).
In this one, I preview New Mexico before airing our guest appearance on The Pit Press Podcast where we previewed Tulsa for New Mexico fans.
Hope you enjoy it! Can't wait for Thursday night.
8-24: Tulsa is a 1-SEED in the NIT
2026/03/17
Tulsa fell to Wichita State 68-81 in the American Championship semifinals after losing David Green to injury and Tyler Behrend to fouling out while Kenyon Giles went supernova for the Shockers.
HOWEVER, Tulsa received a 1-seed in the NIT the very next day and will host Stephen F. Austin in the Reynolds Center in the first round on TUESDAY! That's today, at time of publishing. It's the Tulsa men's first postseason bid of any kind since 2016. Can't wait.
Matt's out, so it's just me for this one. I recap the conference tournament for the men & women, preview the NIT for the men, and briefly discuss the unfortunate end of the season for the women.
I also have a new article out on Patreon about savoring this extremely fun season while acknowledging questions about the defense & the coach.
