Wisconsin Wyffels Corn Belt Award Winner - Logan Groleau

Logan Groleau was selected as a winner of the Wyffels Corn Belt Award because of his drive and hard work in school, sports, and throughout his community. Logan is in varsity football, varsity shooting, and FFA, where he is a sentinel. He enjoys the camaraderie of team sports and FFA, working together towards a common goal. Logan is vice president of his 4-H chapter and he exhibits livestock, such as beef steers, heifers, pigs, and poultry, at shows and fairs. He also supports his community through National Honor Society service projects. Agriculture has taught Logan responsibility, leadership, and dedication. He is committed to the animals he shows and has learned something different from each species. Logan knows agriculture isn't just about winning in the show ring; it's about the early mornings, long days, lessons, friendships, and pride that comes from the hard work one puts in. After high school, Logan plans to attend University of Wisconsin - Riverfalls to study animal science and later attend a veterinarian school.

South Dakota Wyffels Corn Belt Award Winner - Dawson Hlavacek

Dawson Hlavacek was selected as a winner of the Wyffels Corn Belt Award because of his involvement and hard work in school, sports, and throughout his community. In school, Dawson plays football, basketball, baseball, track, and golf. He is also part of FBLA, student council, FFA, FCA, and the National Honor Society. Dawson has participated in choir, band, and was in a one-act play, saying all of these activities bring unique environments where he can learn. Dawson is active in his community through People Against Child Hunger, volunteering to help local food-insecure youth. He also helps build free beds for children in need with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. To Dawson, agriculture involves providing food and resources for everyone. Through the agriculture industry, he learns how plants, animals, and the environment in general works together to produce the resources we need. After high school, Dawson plans to go to South Dakota State University to study electrical engineering, wanting to work with his hands in his future career.
