Jesus is still on the move, still working miracles, and still showing up where He's wanted. On Baptism Sunday at North Phoenix Church, guest speaker Brad Jones of Passion City Church in Atlanta teaches from Luke 8:26–40, the story of Jesus crossing the lake to free the demon-possessed man called Legion. The disciples were nervous about going to the other side. Jesus went straight to the man everyone else avoided. When the town asked Jesus to leave, the healed man begged to come along. Jesus sent him home instead, with an assignment: go tell how much God has done for you. Brad unpacks three truths from this passage: 1. Jesus is still on the move, and He invites us to move with Him. 2. Jesus is still doing miracles, including freedom, healing, and people restored to their right mind. 3. Jesus is still showing up, and God goes where He's wanted. This message is for you if you've been stuck in "cultural Christianity," if you're in a storm and losing hope that things can change, or if you're wondering what God has called you to do right where you live. There's an assignment on your life. 📖 SCRIPTURE IN THIS MESSAGE Luke 8:26–40 (main text) Romans 6:23 Matthew 19:26 Isaiah 55:11 John 10:10 James 2:19 Psalm 100:1 ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Welcome, North Phoenix 1:18 Baptism Sunday & why Brad is here 3:19 The church on mission 4:00 Loving the Church: Passion City, First Baptist Canyon, TX 5:22 Mission drift: when church becomes a checklist 6:15 Luke 8: a picture of what the church should be 7:30 Right after Jesus calms the storm 8:14 Luke 8:26: sailing to the Gerasenes 8:53 Disciples, not cultural Christians 10:03 Join Jesus in what HE is doing 10:47 Close geographically, worlds apart 12:03 The Decapolis: the gospel is meant to travel 13:00 Out of our comfort zone 14:03 Your school, your workplace, your path 15:11 Point 1: Jesus is still on the move 16:43 Jesus' authority over darkness 19:22 Point 2: Jesus is still working miracles 20:13 Jesus went straight to this man 22:20 Sin doesn't make you bad, it makes you dead 23:06 40 baptisms: the illustration God gave 24:00 For anyone battling anxiety & depression 25:22 Be people of possibility 25:50 Point 3: Jesus is still showing up 26:04 Luke 8:37: they asked Jesus to leave 27:00 Afraid of what following Jesus might cost 27:47 "God goes where He's wanted" 28:36 Luke 8:40: a crowd expecting Him 32:11 Luke 8:38–39: go home and tell 34:21 There's an assignment on your life 35:47 Celebrating the newly baptized 39:33 Why I love the Church 40:06 God has given you a story 40:41 Nick, Bree & Cody: the church in action 41:11 Closing worship 👍 Like this video if you needed to be reminded today that Jesus is still on the move 🔔 Subscribe for more Bible teaching and practical messages every week 💬 Comment with what God has done for you, and go tell your story like the man in Luke 8 📤 Share this message with someone who needs to know Jesus is coming straight for them 🌐 nphx.church 📱 Instagram: @NPHXchurch #Luke8 #Sermon #NorthPhoenixChurch
