Justification by Faith Alone & Christ Alone (Fall '26 Study Guide #3) James Rathmann and Bruce Nicholey host Redemption Church Denver’s podcast study guide #3, covering chapters 3–4 of R.C. Sproul’s What Is Reformed Theology? on justification by faith alone and Christ alone. They discuss how to awaken awareness of sin through God’s law and humanity’s calling to reflect God’s image, then define justification using the Shorter Catechism: God pardons sins and accepts believers as righteous through Christ’s imputed righteousness received by faith alone. They contrast Reformed teaching with Roman Catholic views of faith plus merit, distinguish justification (a one-time act) from sanctification (an ongoing work), and explain imputation and double imputation using Zechariah 3 and Romans 5. They also affirm Christ as fully God and fully man, referencing Chalcedon and the offices of prophet, priest, and king, and announce an October 12 book club at Leaver’s Locavore featuring C.R. Wiley’s Man Made.
