Tyler Kluver, G-Bone, Kevin Ward and Drake Kulick recap Iowa’s 41-24 win at Washington, calling it a comfortable road “dog walk” that sends the Hawkeyes into the bye at 5-1. They praise the offense’s breakthrough run game led by Kamari Moulton’s career day (208 yards) and note multiple wide-open TDs while questioning Washington’s defensive coaching. On defense, they highlight Phil Parker’s plan, strong front-seven play, six sacks, and holding Washington to minus-three rushing yards, while acknowledging backup QB Elijah Brown’s efficient second-half surge. Special teams discussion centers on Iowa’s violent kickoff coverage and ending the Evan James punt return experiment after more muff issues. Tyler hosts Drake and later G-Bone for a wide-ranging episode that starts with Drake sharing therapy and brain-scan results showing severe abnormalities, post-concussive damage compared to soldiers with PTSD, and a planned treatment protocol focused on depression, anxiety, and memory issues; they discuss ibogaine and Robert Gallery’s reported benefits. The show then pivots to football: George Kittle’s Hall of Fame outlook, Iowa’s season win total, and the short-week Friday night trip to Seattle to face Washington, including travel logistics, time-zone effects, injuries, and expectations that Jeremy “Heck” Hecklinski will start at QB. They outline non-negotiables for an Iowa win (turnover margin, downfield completions, and limiting unforced errors) and close with betting picks and parlay selections. In the first post defeat show of the year after Iowa’s loss to Ohio State, Kluver and David recap the game and focus on the Hawkeyes’ most disappointing issue: a stalled run game amid the loss of three NFL-caliber linemen, debate whether the starting offensive line should be adjusted, and discuss using more RPOs. They note inflated stats from early mismatches, point to disciplinary penalties that shifted momentum against Ohio State, and credit Ohio State’s talent and Jeremiah Smith. Looking ahead to a short-week Friday road game at Washington, they describe it as a critical swing game before the bye, with Washington desperate at home. They also project Jeremy Hecklinski will start at quarterback due to Hank Brown’s AC joint injury and discuss the potential implications for the rest of the season. Tyler Kluver, Grant Allen, Drake Kulick, and Kevin Ward recap Iowa’s College GameDay weekend in Iowa City, praising Reece Davis’ opening and the exposure for the Hawkeye brand despite a disappointing loss to Ohio State. They break down the game’s turning points—an early fumble touchdown, special teams and penalty issues, and a critical end-of-first-half sequence that swung momentum into a 17-6 deficit—while noting Jeremiah Smith’s dominant performance and Ohio State’s talent advantage. The crew argues many frustrations were execution-based rather than play-calling, discusses Iowa’s ongoing struggles running the ball against quality opponents, and reviews injuries that appeared mostly minor. They address the emerging quarterback controversy after Hank Brown’s poor game and Jeremy Hecklinski’s late drive, then turn attention to a tough, winnable Friday-night road test at Washington before the bye week. This week the Power Hour DOUBLES as the Preview- Tyler Kluver and David Eickholt join forces to break down, predict, and project on the game and the season to this point. They preview Iowa at Michigan, calling it a low-total, coaching-driven matchup with Iowa a 5.5-point underdog and emphasizing that if Iowa wins, a 10–2 or even 11–1 season and playoff conversation become possible. They assess Michigan’s strong defense but underwhelming offensive production, debate fan perceptions based on past Iowa struggles, and stress Iowa must limit penalties, win field position, and force at least one turnover. They highlight key matchups (including Lee vs Buchanan and Iowa’s right tackle), the importance of playmakers like Tony Diaz and DJV, Tim Lester’s playcalling, and the pressure of road environments on Hank Brown and punter Boston Everitt. Both give score predictions to finish the episode. If you love the show and want to show support, tell your friends! Tyler and David open the podcast by recapping Iowa’s 2-0 start and discussing how FanDuel shifted Iowa’s season win total from 7.5 to 8.5 after the Iowa State win. They preview Northern Iowa as a tune-up week for backups and rest, noting Kirk Ferentz suggested DJV and Kamari Moulton likely won’t play much, with Zach Lutmer also banged up, while LJ may return soon and Tyler Brown is getting reps again. They evaluate Iowa’s defense, Cam Buffington’s 15-tackle game and growth areas, and identify potential breakout players like Thomas Meyer, Evan James, Iose Epenesa, and Julian Manson. Offensively, they say Hank Brown likely secured the QB job with a key deep ball to Tony Diaz, praise Diaz’s route running, critique Brown’s reads at times, and credit special teams—Buhr and holder Tanner Philpott—for decisive plays.
