October 11, 2026 Sermon - Being Content In All Seasons
2026/10/09
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
Being Content In All Seasons
Let me ask you a question. Are you content today? Honestly, most of us would say, "Well, mostly." Or maybe, "I will be, once a few things change." Once the crop is in. Once the bills are paid. Once the kids are settled. Once the doctor calls back. Here's the thing. That "once" never seems to come, does it?
Today we're opening Philippians 4:11-13. These are some of the best-loved words Paul ever wrote. And some of the most misunderstood. Paul wrote them from a Roman prison. He was chained to a guard. He had no idea if he would live or die. And he said, "I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am."

October 4, 2026 Sermon - The Best Trade
2026/10/02
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
The Best Trade
Let me start with a question. Suppose you sat down at the kitchen table tonight and drew two columns on a sheet of paper. One says "gain." The other says "loss." What would you put where? Your job? Your savings? Your good name? Your good works? Your years of church attendance?
Here's the thing. The Apostle Paul did that very exercise. He sat down with his whole life. His family tree. His religious record. His education. His zeal. His spotless reputation. And he moved every single item out of the gain column and into the loss column. Every one.
Why would a man do that? Was he being dramatic? Was he throwing his life away?
No. He found something worth more than all of it put together. He found Jesus Christ.
In today's message we're walking through Philippians chapter 3, verses 8 through 11. It's one of the richest passages in all of Paul's letters. In just four verses, Paul tells us three wonderful things. He tells us why knowing Christ is worth more than anything this world can offer. He tells us how a sinner can stand before a holy God, not in his own goodness, but clothed in the righteousness of Christ, received by faith alone. And he tells us where the Christian life is headed: through the fellowship of Christ's sufferings, all the way to the resurrection from the dead.
Maybe you are carrying a heavy ledger today. Maybe you've been trying to balance the books with God by being good enough. Or maybe you've lost a great deal this year, and you're wondering if it's all been for nothing. This message is for you.

September 20, 2026 Sermon - The Math of Grace
2026/09/18
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
The Math of Grace
Today we're opening up Matthew chapter 20, verses 1 through 16 - the parable of the workers in the vineyard. Jesus tells a story about a landowner who hires workers throughout the day, some at dawn, some just an hour before quitting time. And then, at the end of the day, he pays every single one of them the exact same wage. The guys who worked all day in the hot sun get upset. That doesn't seem fair. And honestly? It doesn't seem fair to us either.
But that's exactly the point. Today's message is called "The Math of Grace," and here's the simple truth we're going to walk through together: God's grace doesn't add up the way our grades, our paychecks, or our merit badges do.
Grace isn't earned. It's given. And once you understand that, it changes how you see God, and it changes how you see other people..

September 13, 2026 Sermon - Practical Holiness
2026/09/12
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
Practical Holiness
Today we're talking about a word that makes a lot of us squirm a little: holiness. Maybe it sounds like something for monks, or missionaries, or people a whole lot more spiritual than you and me. But that's not what the Bible means by it. Peter, writing to ordinary Christians scattered across the ancient world, tells them plainly: "You shall be holy, for I am holy." Not "you might be." Not "try to be, if you feel like it." You shall be.
We're going to walk through 1 Peter 1:13-16 together, and we're going to discover that holiness isn't about becoming stiff or joyless or unrelatable. It's about becoming who God actually made you to be in Christ. It starts in the mind, it refuses to go back to old patterns, and it reaches into every single corner of ordinary life — how we talk, how we work, how we treat our families, how we spend a Tuesday afternoon.

September 6, 2026 Sermon - What Is Sin?
2026/09/05
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
What Is Sin?
Last week, I shared on the Holiness of God. When we truly see God as holy, three things happen. It humbles us. It cleanses us. And it sends us. The holiness of God is not a threat to be feared from a distance. It is a reality that, when truly seen, humbles us, cleanses us, and sends us out to serve Him.
Today we're tackling a subject that, honestly, most of us would rather skip. We're talking about sin. Not in some abstract, theological, ivory-tower kind of way. We're talking about why sin matters - why it's serious - and why so many of us, myself included, have quietly stopped treating it that way.
You know what? I think most of us have a sin or two we've made peace with. A habit. A grudge. A pattern of thought. Something we've stopped fighting because, honestly, fighting is exhausting. We've made a truce with it. We've decided it's not that big a deal.
But here's the thing - God never made that truce. And today, from Isaiah chapter fifty-nine, we're going to look honestly at what sin actually does, why God takes it so seriously, and why we should too. This isn't going to be a guilt trip. I promise you that. It's going to be an honest look in the mirror, and then - thank God - a look at the cross, where sin was dealt with once and for all.s.

August 30, 2026 Sermon - The Holiness of God
2026/08/28
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
The Holiness of God!
Today we're wading into deep water. We're talking about the holiness of God. Now, I know that phrase can sound like something out of a dusty old textbook. Honestly, it might make you want to change the channel. But stay with me, because this is not a topic for theologians locked away in libraries. This is a topic for farmers and nurses and truck drivers and tired moms and every single one of us who has ever wondered, "What is God really like?"
We're going to open the book of the prophet Isaiah, chapter six, and stand with him in the temple on the day everything changed for him. A king had just died. The nation was uncertain. And in the middle of that uncertainty, Isaiah saw something that no comfortable religion ever prepares you for. He saw God as He actually is. Holy. Set apart. Other.
Here is where we are headed. When we truly see God as holy, three things happen. It humbles us. It cleanses us. And it sends us.

August 16, 2026 Sermon - Buried To Live!
2026/08/15
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
Buried To Live!
Today's message is a special one. We had a baptism this morning at Our Savior's, and honestly, there is nothing quite like watching God claim a life right in front of your eyes. So I want to take this episode to walk through what baptism actually means, straight from God's Word, in Romans chapter 6, verses 1 through 5.
Here's the thing. A lot of us have watched a baptism, maybe even our own children's, and we walked away thinking, "That was sweet," but we never really understood what just happened. Baptism is not just a nice church tradition. It is not just a photo opportunity with a cute outfit and a proud grandma in the second pew. Baptism is God doing something real. He is burying the old you and raising up something brand new.

August 9, 2026 Sermon - Where Were You?
2026/08/08
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
Where Were You?
Today we're opening up one of the toughest, most honest books in the whole Bible — the book of Job. And we're landing right in the middle of the storm, in Job chapter 38, where God finally speaks after Job has waited, and waited, and waited for an answer to one question: why?
Here's the thing. God never actually answers that question. Not directly. Instead, God asks Job seventy-some questions of His own — about mountains and oceans, about sunrises and starlight, about things Job never made and never could make. And by the end, Job doesn't get an explanation. He gets something better. He gets a clearer look at who God is.
You know what? That's exactly what most of us need too. We want the why. God usually gives us the who. And once you see who He really is — the God who laid the foundation of the earth, who tells the ocean where to stop, who calls up the dawn every single morning — the why starts to matter a whole lot less.
In today's message, "Where Were You? Trusting the God Who Built the World," we'll walk through Job 38:4-18 together. We'll talk about what it means to trust a God whose plans are bigger than our understanding, and we'll land on some real, practical ways to hold onto that trust when life doesn't make sense.

August 2, 2026 Sermon - More Than Enough
2026/08/01
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
More Than Enough
Today we're stepping into one of the most familiar stories in all four Gospels — the day Jesus fed five thousand men, plus women and children, with a boy's sack lunch. We'll look at Matthew 14:13-21, and I want to tell you up front: this isn't just a story about a miracle. It's a story about what Jesus does with people who feel like they don't have enough. Not enough energy. Not enough resources. Not enough talent, or time, or strength to meet the need in front of them. Sound familiar? It should. Because most of us feel that way more often than we'd like to admit.
In today's message, "More Than Enough," we'll walk through three simple truths. First, that Jesus' compassion doesn't take a day off, even when He's exhausted and grieving. Second, that Jesus is never intimidated by our inadequate math — five loaves and two fish were never going to be the point. And third, that Jesus hands the miracle back to ordinary people to distribute, which means you and I are still part of how He feeds a hungry world today.

July 26, 2026 Sermon - The Rope Between Us
2026/07/24
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
The Rope Between Us
Let me ask you something before we start. Have you ever wondered if you could mess things up so badly that God would finally let you go? Honestly, most of us have wondered that at some point. Maybe it was after a failure you couldn't take back. Maybe it was in a season of doubt that lasted longer than you wanted to admit. You know what? That question — will God let go of me — is one of the oldest fears in the human heart, and today we're going to answer it straight from Scripture.
We're studying Romans 8:38-39, two verses that have been called the grandest sentence Paul ever wrote. In them, the apostle makes an enormous claim. He says nothing — not death, not life, not angels, not the future, not anything in this created world — can separate a believer from the love of God in Christ Jesus. That's not a wish. That's not wishful thinking. Paul says he's convinced.

July 19, 2026 Sermon - Two Kinds Of Seed
2026/07/17
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
Two Kinds Of Seed
Last week, we sat together in Matthew chapter thirteen and looked at the Parable of the Sower, the story Jesus told about a farmer scattering seed on four different kinds of soil. Today, we're staying right there in Matthew thirteen, but we're moving on to another parable. And this time, we get something special.
We get to listen in as Jesus sits down privately with His disciples and explains, piece by piece, exactly what one of His parables means.
This is the Parable of the Weeds, sometimes called the Parable of the Tares, and in today's passage, Matthew 13:36 through 43, Jesus breaks it wide open for us. He tells us who the farmer is, who the good seed is, who the weeds are, who the enemy is, and what is going to happen at the end of it all.
Honestly, there are not many places in Scripture where Jesus hands us this much detail so plainly, so we want to slow down and take it seriously. Here is what you can expect today. We are going to look at three things: the explanation Jesus gives, the judgment Jesus promises, and the glory Jesus guarantees for His people. By the end, my hope is that you will walk away with a settled confidence, that God sees clearly what we cannot, that He is patient for good reason, and that the harvest is coming.

July 12, 2026 Sermon - What Kind of Ground Are You?
2026/07/10
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
What Kind Of Ground Are You?
Today's message actually starts in a field. So if you've ever planted a garden, or watched a farmer work a field, or even just tried to grow one stubborn tomato plant on your back porch, this one's for you.
Today we're opening up to Matthew 13:18-23. This is Jesus explaining His own parable — the Parable of the Sower. Now, here's the thing. Jesus already told this story to a big crowd down by the Sea of Galilee. A farmer went out to plant seed, and that seed landed on four different kinds of ground. Some seed never even had a chance. Some sprang up fast and died just as fast. Some got choked out before it could produce anything. And some — some — took root and produced a harvest beyond anything the farmer could have expected.
In this message, we're going to walk through all four soils, and we're going to ask some honest questions about which one describes us — maybe even at different seasons of our lives. We'll talk about hardened hearts, shallow hearts, distracted hearts, and good soil hearts. And we'll land on three simple, practical action points: guard your heart against the things that harden it, tend your roots through the ordinary means of grace, and expect God to grow real fruit in you — even if it doesn't look like everybody else's harvest.

July 5, 2026 Sermon - REST FOR YOUR SOUL
2026/07/03
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
Rest For Your Soul!
Today's message is called "Rest for Your Soul," and it comes from one of the most beloved passages in all of the New Testament — Matthew 11:28-30. Jesus looks out at a crowd of people who are worn out, beaten down, and carrying loads they were never meant to carry alone, and He says something that stops everyone in their tracks: "Come to Me." Those three words change everything.
In this sermon, I will walk us through what it truly means to be weary and heavy-laden, what the yoke of Jesus actually is — and why it is so radically different from every other burden the world piles on us — and what it looks like in practical, everyday life to find genuine rest for our souls. This is not a message about taking a nap. This is a message about a whole new way of living.

June 28, 2026 Sermon - NOT PEACE, BUT A SWORD
2026/06/26
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
NOT PEACE, BUT A SWORD!
Today we are preaching from Matthew chapter ten, verses thirty-four through forty-two. And honestly? This is one of those passages that might make you sit up straight in your chair. Jesus says something that sounds shocking at first: He did not come to bring peace but a sword. He talks about division in families. He talks about crosses and losing your life to find it. This is not easy, comfortable Christianity. But it is honest. It is real.
And when you understand what Jesus is actually saying, it changes the way you think about discipleship, about loyalty, about what it means to follow Him.
Here is what we are going to cover today.
First, we will look at the context of Matthew chapter ten and why Jesus is saying these things to His disciples. Second, we will unpack what He means by division, the sword, and family conflict. Third, we will talk about what it truly means to take up your cross and follow Jesus. And finally, we are going to bring it all home with practical, everyday application for your life right here, right now, in 2026.
By the end of this message, our prayer is that you walk away with a clearer, braver understanding of what it means to love Jesus above all things.

June 14, 2026 Sermon - WHERE GRACE GOES WHEN YOU HAVE NOTHING LEFT
2026/06/12
This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
WHERE GRACE GOES WHEN YOU HAVE NOTHING LEFT!
Today's message is called Where Grace Goes When You Have Nothing Left. We're spending time in one of the most breathtaking passages in all of the New Testament — Romans chapter 5, verses 6 through 15. And I have to tell you, when I sat down to prepare this message, I kept reading these verses over and over. Not because they were hard to understand. But because they are so almost unbelievably good.
Here's what we're going to look at today. We're going to see that God didn't wait for us to get our lives together before He sent Jesus. He sent His Son while we were still helpless, while we were still sinners, while we were still enemies of God. Think about that. Grace didn't come after we cleaned ourselves up. Grace came while we were still a mess.
In this message, we'll unpack three big ideas from this passage. First, we'll look at the timing of grace — why the words 'while we were yet' matter more than we might think. Second, we'll see the depth of love that drove God to send Christ for people who didn't deserve it and weren't asking for it. And third, we'll see the life-altering contrast between Adam and Christ — between what sin brought into the world and what grace brought in.
There are three action points I want you to walk away with today. Number one — ask yourself honestly, are you still trying to earn something that has already been freely given? Number two — let the reality that God loved you at your worst reshape how you love the difficult people in your life. And number three — anchor your identity not in Adam's failure but in Christ's gift. That's the journey we're taking together today.
