2 Peter 3:8-13 February 1, 2026 PM.Peter calls on us to live as Christians worthy of God's coming kingdom. God is very patient with His people, wanting them to come to repentance concerning their sins. Peter exhorts us to live in a way that agrees with the imminent return of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:13-15 February 1, 2026 AM.Christian faith does not and cannot remain silent. That is because we know that Jesus is raised from the dead and that God will raise us up out of the dead as well and present us before Him. This changes everything because it means we are not living this life only for this life. We are living in this life in the sight of God and to help others glorify Him as well. If you believe that the gospel is good news, if you believe that Jesus is the only way for someone to be saved from awful Hell, if you believe that the Christian life is the one that pleases God, if you believe that sin is really bad, then it is only reasonable that you should speak up.

Various February 1, 2026 SS.Christians are taught by example and connection to Christ that we should be sacrificial in our character. When I think of sacrifice, what comes to mind include a willingness to suffer, thinking of others first, giving, and living generously not just with finances but with time and abilities to be a blessing to other people. Such people exercise good stewardship so that they can be sacrificial, that is, have something to sacrifice. Being sacrificial is the opposite greed, materialism, and idolatry. In fact, a sacrificial heart is an antidote to those vices.

2 Corinthians 4:7-12 January 25, 2026 AM.The message of this paragraph is found in verse 7: God has arranged the combination of weak vessel and priceless message to ensure that no one mistakes where the power comes from. It comes from God, not from people. The outstanding nature of the power of God resides in the message about Jesus, not the vehicles of the message.

Prov 3:13-20 January 25, 2026.Those who find and hold on to wisdom are blessed. Proverbs 3:13-20 reminds us of the benefits of gaining wisdom and discernment. Some of the great fortune wisdom brings is length of days, riches, honor, pleasantness and peace in life. This is not a guarantee that true wisdom always results in material prosperity, but a description of how life generally is for those who possess God's wisdom.

John January 21, 2026 PM.John conveniently tells us his message in 20:31. He wrote about the signs that Jesus did in order that the reader may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by so believing would have eternal life through Him. We focus on a few aspects of John's gospel, such as the miracles that he highlights, the "I am" statements of the Lord, and some important lessons.

2 Peter 3:1-7 January 18, 2026 PM.In this message, we learn that our foundation is God's word, that scoffers will try to shake this foundation, and we must remember that God created, sustains, and will ultimately destroy this world.

2 Corinthians 4:1-6 January 18, 2026 AM.In the church ministry, a big part of what we do is to equip one another to live the Christian life in the face of a hostile world, and to give the gospel to those around us because everyone needs it. But this is not easy and there is a lot of pressure to clam up or change the message to make it “easier” for non-Christian people to accept it. How did the apostle Paul manage this sort of problem? I read what he says in the opening verses of 2 Corinthians 4 as giving us five ways that he managed to stay faithful to God in the face of pressure.

Proverbs 3:9-12 January 14, 2026 PM.Pastor Jansen shares with us two key thoughts in this message: wise people honor God with their possessions, and wise people humbly accept God's discipline.

Matthew 25:14-30 January 11, 2026 PM.The Lord exhorts us to be alert and serving Him as we await His return. He has given us resources and tasks in our service, and He will evaluate us as to our stewardship of those things.

2 Corinthians 3:12-18 January 11, 2026 AM.We have seen that the great glory of the gospel allows us to confidently speak of it without holding back. There is a big problem, however, in that unbelievers cannot understand the Bible. This problem arises because of the effects of sin and lack of faith. The solution is salvation—in which the veil is taken away, and we are enabled to see the true significance of the Bible. Then comes sanctification by which the believer grows in likeness to Jesus.

Varoius January 11, 2026 SS.We introduced the message with the notion that without God, there is not only no truth, but there is nothing at all. God is the standard of truth. We then continued our study of the Bible's teaching on truth in the New Testament, with some reference to the Old Testament as well. Much remains in the notes that we did not cover.

Joshua January 7, 2026 PM.The text of Joshua records how Joshua, the successor to Moses, led the people of Israel into the land of Canaan or “Palestine” as it is now called, but more properly “Israel” or “the promised land.” They crossed from the other side of the Jordan near the city of Jericho and took that city, followed in fairly rapid succession by defeating city-states both north and south of that location. Quite a few chapters are spend in explaining how the conquered land was distributed among the 12 tribes. Two things about God stand out in the book of Joshua: His faithfulness to His promises, even to a very imperfect people, is one. The second is God’s judgment against evil, which is displayed in the destruction of many of the pagan city-states.
