We Are: Owners
2026/10/13
There is a significant difference between showing up and truly belonging. Ownership is not an obligation list or a guilt trip. It is a posture, a shift from consuming to investing, from attending to becoming. Colossians 3:23-24 calls us to work from the soul, as for the Lord, not for the approval of people. The book of Malachi warns us what happens when comfort replaces genuine devotion. We begin bringing leftovers and calling it faithfulness. True ownership begins with surrender, living not to earn a place, but from the place God has already given us through Christ.
We Are: Bridge Builders Pt.2
2026/09/29
You are here because someone built a bridge for you. Someone prayed, invited, or shared their story, and that act of faithfulness changed the direction of your life. Jesus modeled this perfectly. He did not wait for people to come to Him. He went to them, entered their world, and served before He ever addressed their sin. That is the posture every follower of Christ is called to carry. Building a bridge for the gospel is not complicated. It starts with praying for someone by name, sharing your own story, and giving a simple invitation. You are not responsible for changing anyone's heart. That is God's work. Your job is to build the bridge and trust Him with what happens next.
We Are: Bridge Builders
2026/09/22
God does not wait passively for people to find their way back to Him. He pursues relentlessly, like a shepherd leaving ninety-nine sheep to find one, a woman sweeping through dirt to recover a lost coin, and a father running down the road to embrace a returning son. The parables of Luke 15 reveal a God who celebrates every single person who comes home. The Good Samaritan shows us what that same love looks like in action: costly, inconvenient, and given without guarantee of thanks. Building bridges with people requires something from us, but it is exactly what we were called to do. Once you truly understand how God pursued you, it becomes impossible to stay indifferent to the people around you.
We Are: Disciple Makers
2026/09/15
Something is always shaping you, and the real question is whether it is drawing you closer to Christ or pulling you further away. In Matthew 13, Jesus uses the Parable of the Sower to describe four different heart conditions: the hard heart that resists God's Word, the shallow heart that falls apart under pressure, the crowded heart that lets busyness push out what matters most, and the healthy heart that hears, understands, and bears fruit. Discipleship is not a church program or an information transfer. It is a life transformation that begins with the condition of your own heart. As followers of Christ, we are called not only to grow in faith ourselves but to intentionally walk alongside others and help them grow too.
We Are: Authentic
2026/09/08
Authenticity is one of the most talked-about values in our culture, but biblical authenticity goes far deeper than simply being yourself. It means your private life actually matches who you claim to be publicly, and that requires an honest reckoning with who you are when nobody is watching. God already knows every part of you, including your secret sins, your doubts, and your hidden struggles, and He has not walked away. True Christian authenticity is not an excuse to stay the same. It is a willingness to let God transform you from the inside out. Real community in the church requires walking in the light with one another, not performing or hiding behind a mask. The gospel gives us both the honesty to say where we are and the hope to know we do not have to stay there.
Passing on the story
2026/09/01
Faith is not a private matter. It is something meant to be lived visibly so that the people around us, especially the next generation, begin to ask questions. Deuteronomy 6 makes clear that the question is not if children will ask about faith, but when. The best answer is not a theological argument but a personal testimony rooted in what God has done. Moses outlines a simple pattern: we were in bondage, God delivered us, He brought us somewhere, and He has kept His promises. Obedience to God flows from that rescue, not the other way around. A faith that is real, honest, and visible at home is the most powerful gift we can pass on. Your story does not have to be perfect. It just has to be true.
Guarding against comfort and forgetting God in prosperity
2026/08/25
Comfort can be one of the greatest threats to our faith. In Deuteronomy 6, Moses warns the Israelites not about the giants or armies ahead, but about the blessing itself. When life is full and stable, it becomes easy to forget the One who provided it all. Prosperity does not make people reject God outright. It simply makes Him feel unnecessary. Just as astronauts lose muscle mass without the resistance of gravity, our spiritual lives can quietly atrophy when comfort replaces dependence. The real promise of the Promised Land was never the cities or the cisterns. It was God Himself. The question worth asking is this: where has abundance quietly led to spiritual amnesia?
Words on the heart: the home as the first mission field
2026/08/18
Deuteronomy 6 offers one of Scripture's most practical roadmaps for passing faith from one generation to the next. It begins not with rules or checklists, but with the heart. The Hebrew word used for heart in this passage refers to the seat of the will, the core of who you are, and the controlling factor behind every decision you make. You can only pass on what you already possess. Moses describes four daily rhythms (sitting, walking, lying down, and rising) as natural moments to weave faith into ordinary life. Faith formation is not a one-time event but a daily, repeated process of letting God's Word move from information to transformation. It is never too late to start, and today is always a good day to take the first step.
The Shema: loving God with all heart, soul, and strength
2026/08/11
The Shema, found in Deuteronomy 6:4-5, is one of the most important declarations in all of Scripture. Jesus called it the greatest commandment, not because it tops a list of rules, but because it captures the entire heart of what it means to follow God. Loving God with all your heart, soul, and strength is not a performance checklist. It is a direction, a compass bearing toward the One who already loves you completely. Too often, we say yes to God while quietly holding something back, whether that is control, comfort, fear, or a backup plan. God is not asking for obligation. He is extending an invitation to trust Him fully, because He has already given all of Himself for us.
Why the "Why" matters
2026/08/04
Many people experience God's commands as burdens rather than blessings, but Deuteronomy 6 reveals a different picture entirely. Before God tells Israel what to do, He tells them why, and that reason changes everything. The commands Moses delivers are not restrictions on freedom but protection for flourishing, much like a loving parent who sets boundaries to keep a child safe rather than to control them. The call to fear the Lord is not a call to cowering dread but to reverential awe, a posture that shapes every area of life. Obedience does not earn God's blessing. It is the means of living fully within the blessing He has already prepared. The faith that gets passed on is the faith that gets lived, and it is most visible in the everyday moments shared with the people God has placed in our lives.
Bitterness
2026/07/28
Jonah chapter four reveals a prophet who was furious that God showed mercy to the people of Nineveh. He knew God's character, could recite it word for word, but refused to let it shape his heart. His anger exposed something deeper: he was feeding resentment instead of the Spirit. Like the older brother in the parable of the prodigal son, Jonah had forgotten what it felt like to be lost. When we forget that grace was never earned, we start to believe others don't deserve what we freely received. Bitterness has to be surrendered, not managed. The grace we have been given is meant to become the grace we give away.
Who is on the Throne?
2026/07/20
The story of Jonah chapter 3 is often remembered for the whale, but the greatest miracle is what happened next. An entire city of roughly 600,000 people repented after hearing just five words from a reluctant prophet. At the center of that response was the king of Nineveh, one of the most powerful rulers of the ancient world, who stepped off his throne, removed his royal robes, and sat in ashes. His actions were not passive feelings of guilt but deliberate, costly choices. Each of us has areas of life where we quietly hold the controls while inviting God into only the parts we are comfortable with. True surrender means stepping off our own thrones entirely. Jesus did not ask us to add Him to our lives. He calls us to lay them down completely.
Running from God
2026/07/14
We all run from something. Through Jonah 1, discover why we resist God's call and how His grace relentlessly pursues us,even when we run.
The Power of Life and Death
2026/06/30
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, but the real issue is never the tongue itself. It is the heart behind it. Trying harder to control what we say is like treating symptoms while ignoring the actual problem. God does not offer better instructions for self-improvement. He offers to remove the hardened heart entirely and replace it with something new. Through His Spirit, He produces qualities like purity, gentleness, mercy, and sincerity from the inside out. The same power that raised Christ from the dead applies to your everyday conversations. You cannot tame the tongue on your own, but God can.
Living on the Other Side of You
2026/06/23
The words we speak reveal what is truly happening in our hearts. James 3 confronts a contradiction many of us live with: blessing God on Sunday while cursing others made in His image on Monday. The root of the problem is not the tongue itself but what sits on the throne of the heart. Jealousy and selfish ambition corrupt what flows out of us, just as a bitter underground spring corrupts the water at the surface. You cannot fix the output by managing your words more carefully. Real change begins when God takes the throne of your heart. When the source changes, what flows out changes naturally.
