Okay, well, Halloween might still be a little ways away, but to celebrate our favorite Scorpio's favorite season, instead of a traditional New Moon, New Book, we have this amazing interview with Lydia O'Connor, Salem's first and only horror hostess. If you know her, you love her, and if you don't, this interview is a great introduction to the lore and the backstory that makes Wretched Lydia so captivating to her audience. And yes, she's a real witch!

Spoiler, we loved it, but it also took us on a typical Gemini-Scorpio journey. We discovered that Gemini has never listened to the Smiths and Scorpio recounted her experience with a ouija board and both hosts discussed the ways this book is distinctly applicable to their lives. Happy New Moon witches! Gemini and Scorpio read How to Kill a Witch By Claire Mitchell and Zoe Venditozzi, the Witches of Scotland, and had a LOT to say about it. The subtitle for this episode might just be "The Blood Magic of the Patriarchy" or "Resistance in the Face of a Witch Hunt" because this book managed to be not just a really fun read about a historical period for Scotland, but also a facilitator of conversation about the struggles of living in the version of America that is on fire. Also, we talk about Sinners and how y'all should watch that (not Gemini though, she's soft)!

We're baaaaack witches! For our first episode post maternity leave, we discuss our suggestions for a "dabbler's week" - one week to get into witchcraft for the first time. But don't worry, as usual, it's more than that, with ideas even a seasoned witch can use!
