Description

Break Rules Enjoy, music mixologist. Multi disciplinary skilled (vinyl, CD, all digital), but being a creative nerd nowadays all digital is my preference. Playing all digitally opens up new possibilities to bring music in my own specific way… It all started with playing on a radioshow somewhere back in the eighities, and like many others, from there it was a small step to school parties, the community center disco and later on becoming the resident DJ at the leading discotheque in my hometown. Nowadays Break Rules – Enjoy (BRE for intimi) is a well established and very well-respected DJ and Producer on the Festival & Club Scene. With decades of experience, he brings his own special take on the techno music genre that he loves and adores since he was a young kid. So if he's around in your town, make sure to get that date locked ‘n’ loaded into your calendar!

Break de week: week 1 2026
2026/01/02
This 8-hour DJ set was recorded during the last New Year’s Eve — a complete musical journey, played start to finish by me alone. The night begins slowly and patiently, unfolding through deep progressive sounds and melodic house and techno. Subtle grooves, evolving atmospheres, and long transitions set the tone, creating space to drift, reflect, and lose track of time. As the hours pass, the energy steadily rises, melodies sharpen, and rhythms grow more insistent. Without shortcuts, the set gradually transforms into raw, driving, and uncompromising techno. What starts as hypnotic movement eventually turns into pounding, relentless force, built for the late hours, the dark corners of the night, and bodies fully locked into the rhythm. This is not a collection of peak-time moments, but one continuous story. An exploration of tension, release, patience, and power. Eight hours, one narrative, one DJ, designed to be experienced as a whole. Best enjoyed loud, uninterrupted, and without rushing.

Sometimes I miss those nights — the long, dark, and loving hours inside club Trouw. This week’s episode of Break de Week is a small ode to that feeling: not nostalgia, but a memory that keeps dancing.

On the 19th of '19, August 2019: Randy Knobs
2019/08/19
After the melodic tunes of the last podcasts, it's time for something different. Randy Knobs, one of residents of the East-Collective party's here in Amsterdam brings his personal vision on paying Techno. Randy Knobs is an electronic music enthousiast by heart. Besides the fact that he is one of the hosts of Triple R Tuesday on amw.fm, he also kicked off the annualy Kolosseum Festival in the woods of Almere this year. As a DJ, his signature is high energy techno with a constant drive and a lot of percussion. Recently he started exploring the more laid back side of techno: Deep, melodic and minimalistic with Afro influences. With this broad range of music, Randy Knobs takes you on a journey where you will dance, completely lose yourself in euphoria and finally end up stomping your feet on the ground with a big smile on your face. As a producer, Randy Knobs gets his inspiration from jazz music. He tries to incorporate improvisation and rare one shot sounds in both his music and DJ sets. Kolosseum Festival, Club NL, Panama, De CLUB and diverse boat parties on the canals of Amsterdam are just a few places of where Randy Knobs laid down his deep and driving sounds onto the crowd.
