The Last Sunday
2026/09/27
"The Last Sunday" is a sobering and urgent message from John 14:1–6 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 that asks the listener to consider a simple but serious question: What if today were our last Sunday? The sermon contrasts the hope and comfort believers have in the promised return of Jesus Christ with the terrible reality facing those who are unprepared to meet Him. Emphasizing that Jesus is the only way to the Father, the message calls Christians to recognize the urgency of sharing the Gospel and urges the lost to repent, believe, and receive Christ while there is still time.
Pt 10, Revelation 3:7-13, The Church at Philadelphia
2026/09/23
In Part 10 of the Revelation Unraveled series, Pastor Byron Chesney examines Christ's message to the church at Philadelphia in Revelation 3:7–13. Although this church had little strength and faced opposition, it remained faithful to God's Word and refused to deny the name of Jesus Christ. This message emphasizes that the Lord does not measure a church by its size, wealth, or influence, but by its faithfulness and obedience. Pastor Chesney explores Christ's promise of an open door that no man can shut, His assurance of protection during the coming hour of worldwide testing, and the eternal rewards awaiting those who overcome. The message encourages believers to hold fast to the truth, remain faithful with the strength God has given them, and confidently walk through the doors Christ opens before them.
The Forgiving Christ
2026/09/20
In "The Forgiving Christ," Pastor Byron Chesney preaches from John 8:2-11 on sin, conviction, repentance, and grace. As the woman caught in adultery stands before Jesus, her accusers are forced to examine their own hearts. This message reminds us that Christ does not excuse sin, but He offers forgiveness to those who come to Him and calls them to a changed life.
Pt 9, Revelation 3:1-6, The Church at Sardis
2026/09/16
In Part 9 of the Revelation Unraveled series, Pastor Byron Chesney examines Christ's message to the church at Sardis in Revelation 3:1–6. Sardis had a reputation for being alive, but Christ saw the true condition of the church and declared, "thou art dead." This message considers the danger of outward religion without inward spiritual life, Christ's call to be watchful, remember, hold fast, and repent, and the encouragement given to the faithful few who had not defiled their garments. The message reminds us that reputation is what people think we are, but reality is what Jesus knows we are.
Ye Must Be Born Again
2026/09/13
In this message from Northside Baptist Church's 67th Annual Homecoming Service, guest preacher Bro. Roger Miller preaches "Ye Must Be Born Again" from John 3:1-7 and John 4:3-10. Using the accounts of Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman, he emphasizes that salvation cannot be earned through religion or good works but is found only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The message points listeners to God's grace, the living water of eternal life, and the truth that Jesus alone can forgive, save, strengthen, and show mercy to all who come to Him.
Pt 8, Revelation 2:18-29, The Church at Thyatira
2026/09/09
In Part 8 of the Revelation Unraveled series, Pastor Byron Chesney examines Christ's message to the church at Thyatira in Revelation 2:18–29. Although this church was commended for its works, charity, service, faith, patience, and increasing ministry, it had tolerated the doctrine and influence of "Jezebel," a false teacher who was leading Christ's servants into idolatry, immorality, and compromise with the surrounding culture. This message warns that good works do not excuse false doctrine, reminds us that Christ searches the hearts and knows what His church tolerates, and calls believers to repent of sin, reject corrupt teaching, and hold fast to the truth until He comes.
One Thing I Know
2026/09/06
In John 9:1-41, a man born blind receives his sight and finds himself questioned, criticized, and rejected. But through it all, he stands firm on one undeniable truth: "One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see." This message is a powerful reminder that no one can argue away a life that has truly been changed by Christ.
Wilt Thou Be Made Whole?
2026/08/30
In this message, Pastor Byron Chesney examines the healing of the helpless man at the Pool of Bethesda and the life-changing question Jesus asked him. The message shows that, just as the man could not heal himself, sinners cannot free themselves from the guilt and power of sin. Rather than depending upon excuses, human effort, religious traditions, or temporary solutions, every person must respond to the Word of God with obedient faith. Jesus Christ alone can save, restore, and make a person whole, but each individual must decide whether to receive Him by faith or remain in a condition they cannot escape on their own.
Episode 108, The Dolly Dilemma
2026/08/27
In Episode 108, "The Dolly Dilemma," Brother Byron addresses the disturbing condemnation directed toward Dolly Parton by some professing conservative Christians following her death. He examines the difference between biblical discernment and self-righteous judgment, questions why those now condemning her never appeared concerned about her salvation while she was alive, and warns against claiming knowledge that belongs to God alone. This episode calls Christians to speak truth without cruelty, show compassion toward the grieving, and spend less time judging another person's soul and more time examining their own relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pt 7, Revelation 2:12-17, The Church at Pergamos
2026/08/26
In Part 7 of the Revelation Unraveled series, Pastor Byron Chesney examines Christ's message to the church at Pergamos in Revelation 2:12–17. Although this church remained faithful to the name of Christ while living in a stronghold of spiritual darkness, it had begun tolerating false doctrine and sinful compromise within its fellowship. This message warns that a church can stand against persecution from the outside while being weakened by compromise on the inside, and calls believers to hold fast the faith, reject error, and repent whenever God's Word exposes sin.
That I May Know Him
2026/08/23
In this message from Philippians 3:7–11, Pastor Byron Chesney examines the Apostle Paul's deepest desire: "That I may know him." Paul had knowledge, experience, influence, and a powerful ministry, yet he understood that nothing compared with personally knowing Jesus Christ. The sermon explains the difference between knowing about Christ and walking with Him in a close, daily relationship. It also considers the power of Christ's resurrection, the fellowship of His sufferings, and Paul's willingness to be fully conformed to his Lord. This message challenges every believer to examine what matters most and to make knowing Christ the greatest pursuit of life.
Episode 107, The Clueless Church Member
2026/08/20
In Episode 107 of The Brother Byron Podcast, Brother Byron reflects on turning 60 before tackling a common misunderstanding about the purpose of the church. Using Ephesians 4:11–16, he explains that church success is not measured by attendance, money, buildings, or packed pews, but by spiritual growth and maturity in Christ. He challenges believers to see the church as a place where Christians are equipped and edified so they can carry the Gospel into the world.
Pt 6, Revelation 2:8-11, The Church at Smyrna
2026/08/19
In Part 6 of the Revelation Unraveled series, Pastor Byron Chesney examines Christ's message to the suffering church at Smyrna in Revelation 2:8–11. Though this faithful church faced poverty, persecution, imprisonment, and death, Jesus declared that they were spiritually rich and promised the crown of life to those who remained faithful. This message challenges believers to stand firm without fear, refuse compromise, and value the approval of Christ above the acceptance of the world.
Biblical Separation
2026/08/16
In this message from 2 Corinthians 6:11–18, Pastor Byron Chesney examines the biblical doctrine of separation and asks the searching question, "What are you separated unto?" Biblical separation is not isolation, self-righteousness, or simply avoiding certain people and places. It is a life set apart unto God. This sermon explains why Christians must reject spiritual compromise, exercise biblical discernment, pursue holiness, and live faithfully in a world that increasingly opposes the truth of Scripture. The goal of separation is not merely to be different from the world, but to be fully devoted to Jesus Christ.
Pt 5, Revelation 2:1-7, The Church at Ephesus
2026/08/12
In "The Church at Ephesus," Part 5 of the Revelation Unraveled series, Pastor Byron Chesney examines Revelation 2:1–7 and Christ's message to a church that was hardworking, doctrinally sound, patient, and faithful, yet had left its first love. The Ephesian church reminds us that it is possible to believe right, serve faithfully, and stand against error while allowing our love for Christ to grow cold. Jesus calls His church to remember, repent, and return to the first works. This message challenges every believer to ask an important question: Are we simply going through the motions of Christianity, or do we still love Christ with the devotion we once had?
