241: Salt of The Earth with Darryl Bosshardt
2024/02/18
Jesus said that we are the salt of the earth and that we are made to be salty, to bring a distinct flavor into the world as followers of Christ. But it’s hard to be salty spiritually when we’re not salty physically!  Salt is such a critical part of our physical well being that, we not only feel unwell when we don’t get enough salt, but we would die without enough salt in our body. Did you know our blood is similar to the ocean in salt content? And that you can’t get water into your cell without salt? Many people are perpetually dehydrated because they don’t have enough of this critical mineral in their body. But, we can’t just put any old salt into these Kingdom bodies, we need super high quality, unrefined salt just the way God made it. This week’s guest, Darryl Bosshardt from Redmond’s Real Salt, is giving us the real scoop about salt from the earth.  thechristiannutritionist.com/miniseries

238: Reconsidering Fasting and Meal Timing
2024/01/28
In this week’s episode we’re diving into some of the science and nuance around fasting and how to make considerations based on your stage and season of life. Here are key points we cover: Eat with the sun and The Son. Eat within the daylight hours and eat with gratitude and glory to the Lord our Savior. Try to get  morning sunlight in your eyes before you eat. Eat by 10am to help support muscle protein synthesis. This becomes more important as we age in order to help counteract age-related muscle loss.Eat within the first hour of waking to help restore leptin sensitivity.Variables like coffee and exercise while fasting depend a lot on your stress levels. Ultimately your choices are between you, your body and the Creator of your body. It’s always important to consider how we are serving the Lord in the stewardship of our bodies, how we are or aren’t honoring the needs OF our bodies, and how we need to be open to how those needs may change in the different seasons and stages of our lives. I hope this week’s episode helps give you insight, information and support so that you better tap into that discernment at all levels.  📩Get on my Sunday Sendout List to receive all of my best tips and information! https://www.thechristiannutritionist.com/subscribe-for-updates 📲Check out my website for access to recipes, The Christian Health Club Podcast, free guides, and more! https://www.thechristiannutritionist.com/ ✝️Join The Christian Health Club here: https://christianhealth.kartra.com/page/christian-health-club thechristiannutritionist.com/miniseries

237: Coffee, Fasting and Idolatry with Cristal Dubois, CHP
2024/01/21
Sometimes we need a check in our spirit about letting our health goals become an idol. That’s exactly what Cristal Dubois, Christian Health Practitioner, felt God calling her to do after letting fasting become a “trophy.” She also discovered (for herself and her clients) how extending fasts with coffee can be more harmful than helpful and that it’s important to be open to what our bodies need in different seasons and stages of life. You will be so moved by what Cristal shares in this Scripture-driven episode.  Links:  Salty and Lit Podcast www.cristaldawnwellness.com Join The Christian Health Club:  https://www.thechristiannutritionist.com/the-christian-health-club  Get on The School of Christian Health and Nutrition Waitlist: CHN Early Interest Opt-In  CHP Directory: https://www.thechristiannutritionist.com/chp-directory thechristiannutritionist.com/miniseries
