And somehow during the episode, we missed the fact that Reign of Fire's director also directed our dear cinematic love, 1993's Airborne, causing Jordan to say, "What if Matthew McConaughey and all the other characters in Reign of Fire were on roller skates?!" to which Nic responded, "Wow, that is better than any point you just tried to make about The Matrix!" Movies that made hundreds of millions of dollars. Movies that...didn't. Still, our main feature, Richard Stanley's Hardware, is more than worth watching. Not only does it feature a killer robot who leaves behind rivers of gore, but it features themes and cultural commentary that are strangely prescient. Then there's Robot Jox. Send us a text Throughout the 90s, Disney made big bucks with animated musicals. In 1990, they released a high-quality adventure film that promised a different direction. The 1990 versions of Jordan and Nic loved that movie. The rest of the world ignored it...and its massive flop in the cinematic ocean ensured decades of Disney musicals that haunt our dreams. But for this one episode, we hope we gave 1990s Ducktales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, its due. If we did not, at least we got to get corkscrew deep into duck anatomy. We also talk Jetsons: The Movie, from that same year. We don't have as much nice stuff to say about that movie.
