Episode #123 - Boundaries or Estrangement?: What is Happening With Families
2026/09/24
In this episode I discuss the aspects of a recent Wall Street Journal article, that posed the question: Are therapists to blame for this recent trend of kids cutting off their parents.
I talk about my role as a therapist, and the belief I carry is one where repair is option 1. Although there are situations where cutting off a relationship with a parent is the only way, the option for repair seems to be one that is not on the table for some kids and some therapists.
I also discuss the role social media plays, our fragile society, and the influence of some therapists.
I provide what the research is saying about this issues, which may surprise you.

Episode #122 - The Joy Reset: Healing Trauma, Rewiring Fear, Rediscovering Joy!
2026/05/11
In this episode I talk about what I discovered in a book called the Joy Reset by MaryCatherine McDonald.
The Book talks about 3 areas that trauma tries to steal our joy: Fear Resistence, Joy Fear, & Joy Guilt and Shame. I lay the ground work for each of these areas and talk about how we can better receive joy in our lives. I provide some tools she gives in the book as well.
I also give an update on my ketamine journey and how resetting the fear conditions in my own brain have helped me to accept joy in more abundance.
I also provide updates from previous clients and their ketamine journeys as well.

Episode #121 - New Paths to Healing (Part 3): Integration and Insight
2026/04/07
In this session I will provide info on my personal experience with ketamine. This is my third session and maybe the most emotional and significant one in terms of healing and insight.
As a precursor you may want to listen to Episode #24 if you have not already. It will provide some background to the things I experienced in this session.
For this experience I had the "intention" to just be open to whatever I needed to explore or know about myself that would be most useful. I am glad that was my path as it revealed some great insight into my healing journey.

Episode #120 - Harmony vs Authenticity
2026/02/27
In this episode I explore the idea of harmony vs authenticity. Many times in our relationships we choose to have harmony over expressing our truth. In her book, Growing Yourself Up, Jenny Brown discusses how as we mature and grow in our relationships we should move towards truth and honesty over keeping harmony.
Harmony often results in suppressing our truth or eroding our boundaries we may have set. That creates fusion as opposed to differentiation of self. According to Bowen Family Systems Theory, differentiation should be our goal.
Enjoy this short but thought provoking episode: Are you someone that chooses Harmony or do you push through discomfort and choose authenticity.

#119 - New Paths To Healing: A Therapists Journey with Ketamine, Part 2
2026/02/09
In this episode, I share my experience with my second time doing a Ketamine Therapy session. For reference I utilized many of the principles found with IFS Therapy. If you are not familiar with IFS I strongly suggest it, especially if you are interested in doing Ketamine. There is a great connecting aspect to IFS and Ketamine that is very beneficial to the process.
My Goal for this session and the intention I set was to work with a protective part I have that often shows up as fear and sometimes paralyzes me or keeps me from making decisions that I know I should make. It is a part that I want to explore and hopefully remove from my pattern of being. I feel like it hold me back at times when its really not needed.
Get ready for a tribal council of sorts and some interesting visuals as I share my ketamine journey with you!

Episode #118 - Take Aways from 2025: Prioritizing Your Mental Health
2026/01/05
In this episode I reflect on my take aways from the year. The podcast journey was stunted in 2025 with only 4 episodes.. where do I go from here?
Main topics - no limits, I found out this year more than ever, age is just a number. We can always be growing and getting better at whatever we put our mind to.
Excited for the utilization of KAP (Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy) In my practice, I have already seen great benefits and look forward to continuing to offer this to my clients as needed.
Letting go of fear and moving towards our best selves. "Everything you want is on the other side of fear!"
Tackling the topic of womens health and well being - a need for awareness of growth.
Finally letting go of the moral judgement of right and wrong to reduce shame and promote curiosity.

Episode #117 - New Paths to Healing: A Therapist Journey with Ketamine, Part 1
2025/12/12
In this Episode I discuss the begginning of my Ketamine Journey. I will do this in two parts. I want to share my experience from my first dosing session and then follow that up with my experience of my second dosing session.
In addition to discussing my experience in general with ketamine, I will discuss the benefits I have seen so far. I also provide information about the science behind ketamine and the chemicals at work during and after your session.
I wanted to share this experience to bring more awareness to the value ketamine assisted pyschotherapy can bring to your healing journey and help debunk some of the myths out there about the drug.
One of the main points is that in doing KAP you must do the work alongside the Ketamine to get the most out of it. Ketamine in and of itself is not a magic pill we take and all our problems go away.

Episode #116 - Breaking Through: The Benefits of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (with special guest)
2025/11/07
In this Episode I discuss the benefits of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. In addition to discussing the benefits of this treatment, I also have a special guest, who is coming on to discuss their experience with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.
Ketamine has been shown to accelerate the therapeutic process compared to traditional talk therapy. Some people have described it as taking “the express elevator." Ketamine helps uncover insights and address patterns that were previously difficult to access. The gold-standard of care within psychedelic research is that the treatment takes place within the context of psychotherapyThis can allow people to tap into deep emotions andexperiences that might be difficult to access through regular talk therapy. It has been shown to encourage neuroplasticity, which is the brain's ability to form new neural pathways.

Episode #109 - The Most Powerful Human Need: To Be Seen and Heard
2025/04/29
The most powerful human need is to be seen and heard. We want to know that we matter. In this episode I explore the impact of not being seen or heard in our lives. The lack of having that type of acknowledgment in our life comes with a variety of consequences, including losing trust in our inclinations and our intuitive needs. I discuss a variety a ways that we try and compensate for this in our lives. Finally, I talk about the ways we can heal this wound in our livesFor more info on me visit my website www.ryanwynder.com or follow me on Instagram @thevegastherapist
Episode #115 - "Started From The Bottom" - Life Lesssons From 4th Marathon
2025/04/28
Here you go! This is the latest installment of my marathon running adventures! What I learned from running my 4th Marathon in a calendar year. This one was my most successful marathon all time and I learned a lot about myself during this race and over all 4 races. Thank you to all my supporters through this last year of training, especially my running mates my son Maddux and my brother Justin.

Episode #114 - Life at 50! Perspective, Priorities and Purpose
2025/03/03
In this episode I reflect on my recent turn in decades! Living the life of a 50 year old! I present some interesting facts about being 50 and what that may look like for how you want to live the rest of your life!
In a timely manner I had a listener reach out who was contemplating her own life and purpose. The following questions were asked: What happens when we realize we have not been living the life we want? How do we get the courage to change and adapt this late in life? How do we embrace the things and people we actually want in our lives and let go of those that no longer serve us.
So great questions with some even better answers!

Episode #113 - Antifragile, Safetyism, & Risky Play: The Impact on Our Kids and Ourselves
2024/12/12
In this episode I look at concepts that were discussed in Jonathan Haidt's recent book The Anxious Generation. There is much to digest in this book and I am only looking at one part that I feel plays a major role in the development of our kids and the keys to their well-being, mental health, and overall competence.
Our kids need to face challenges, obstacles, and have the opportunity for risky play. The lack of these things in their life is creating what Haidt sees as the anxious generation.
In addition to exploring the impacts of these things on our kids, I also discuss the impacts on adults. Adults need to continue to grow and push themselves to experience new things or risk facing the same anxiety crippling issues.

Episode #92 - A Better Way to Set Goals For The New Year and On!
2024/12/10
In this episode I tackle the topic of goal setting! There are a few key parts for a new way to set goals that I address in the episode. First, there are two types of motivation, "Want-to" and "Have-to" Motivation, the type you have will influence your overall success with achieving your goals! The main part of the episode is dedicated to having goals that are centered in our values. Goals that are value based have lasting power and generates enduring motivation. A value is not something to be achieved, but is something you can only manifest by acting in accordance with it. Being "aligned" in the way we live and want to live helps to reduce pain in life. I draw from 2 articles by Mark Travers and Steven Hayes in Feb. 2023 Psychology Today as well as Steven Hayes book "A Liberated Mind"
1. Rate your Domains - Scale 1-10 (Family, Marriage/couples/intimate relations, Parenting, Friends/social life, Work, Education, Recreation/Fun, Spirituality, Physical self-care, & Art/creative expression
2. Rate your consistency in the areas above - how consistent have your actions been with your values
3.What do I care about in this area? What do I want to do in this area that reflects that caring? What can I do to manifest this value more in my life?

Episode #112 - The Need For Purpose
2024/11/13
In this episode I breakdown the life lessons I learned from running my 4th Marathon, second this year! Overall I go through 4 things I learned that are life lessons for everyone, not just runners.
One of the main lessons gained from this race was the importance of purpose. Victor Frankl said, "Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose." Such an important concept for life and for running.
Do you have purpose in your goals and in your life?
Listen in for the other things gained from this time through the 26.2!

Episode # 111 - The Dark Side of Meaning
2024/06/26
In this episode I tackle the dark side of meaning making. As humans we instinctively assign meaning to events or experiences we go through. Some of the info I draw from comes from Dr. Benjamin Hardy's book Personality Isn't Permanent. In the book he says "we can generate a premature cognitive commitment about ourselves" this cognitive commitment can be based on mistaken or misinformed meaning of things. Meaning that begins or helps to shape our self-image and how we see the world.
Creating meaning is fundamental to who we are and who we become. As Brene Brown says, "we are meaning makers!"
I also reference the Same Love by Macklemore & Ryan.
How trauma leads to attaching meaning about ourselves is discussed as well.
