HTP #225 - Matthew Price
2026/08/06
Matthew Price is a co-writer on indie sci-fi film The Posthuman project, as well as the owner of Speeding Bullet Comics, an excellent comic shop in Norman, OK. Matthew’s latest project is a comic revival of Team America Racing, a toy-line-turned-comic-series from the early 80s. The two of us discuss the unique opportunity this comic presents to audiences who might remember the old toys, and those who are experiencing Team America for the first time. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #224 - Bjo Trimble
2026/07/23
Bjo Trimble was the lead on the original “Save Star Trek” letter-writing campaign, which helped ensure Star Trek: The Original Series lasted long enough to become the 60-year legacy it has now become. In this episode of Hungry Trilobyte, Bjo talks about how she shares the credit with her late husband, John Trimble. She also shares her view on how Gene would enjoy current Star Trek (and how people shouldn’t be condemning it on behalf of him!). This year, Bjo will be attending STLV courtesy of the ⁨@syfysistas⁩ After that, she’ll be heading to Ticonderoga to see the original Galileo, and then to WorldCon in Anaheim. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #223 - Jeri Ellsworth
2026/06/04
Jeri Ellsworth has been widely known in retrogaming circles as a hardware wizard on platforms such as the C64, VIC-20, and ZX81. Beyond that, she's built a career on designing computer chips and systems for large companies as well as fun gaming projects. In this episode of Hungry Trilobyte, Jeri settles in for a conversation about the current dismal state of the tech industry (my words, not hers) and how her optimism and creativity might point us geeks in the direction of better days ahead. Just as an example, she tells us about Tilt Five and her venture into Augmented Reality. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #222 - Justin Coke Returns
2026/05/31
After giving the Hungry Trilobyte audience a taste of "SWAT – Secret Wizard Assault Team" in episode 189, Justin returns to announce the comic is finished and ready to roll! He and I also examine the importance of fanfic and the many different ways it can be retooled into totally original works. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #221 - Earl Baylon
2026/03/27
Earl Baylon is a cool guy who has mastered writing, acting, and generally is a "Hungry Trilobyte" kind of guy. He's publishing a new comic and needs your support at Wondercon! — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #220 - RefashionedHippie
2026/03/11
Known across Instagram and TikTok for her scathing reviews of thrift store clothing finds (as well as ludicrous ultra-high-end offerings most of us never see!) RefashionedHippie comes to Hungry Trilobyte to give a different tale. Not too long ago, a fan reached out to her, asking about a perfume bottle of great importance, and the whole community pulled together to find it. This led the two of us to talk about community, sustainability... and Star Trek! — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #219 - John Vorhaus Talks Seriously About Comedy!
2026/03/01
John Vorhaus (previously on episodes 92 , 120, and 168) is about to drop a bombshell: he's written a follow-up to his classic book, The Comic Toolbox. With his new book, The Comedy Writer's Companion, John reviews his earlier advice with the benefit of another 30 years of experience-- both professional experience as well as life experience. In this episode, John and I talk about how the two books relate to each other, how sitcoms and comedy writing is an essential skill, and how the most essential skill of all is to be true to who you are. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #218 - Braxton Cosby Returns!
2026/02/15
We last saw Braxton not too long ago in Episode 207, but today he's ready to talk about a project that's a grand achievement even for him-- a two-part series based on the life of Yasuke, the historical 16th-century African Samurai. After becoming fascinated with the concept of the character, Braxton did the real-life research into who he was and found the basis for a historical fiction novel, which he then paired with a fantasy-laden comic book extension. This was the PERFECT concept for a Hungry Trilobyte chat, in which the two of us ponder how much creative freedom one can have with known real-world people, and how much available facts shape that. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #217 - Bat H. Boughner III Returns
2026/02/01
The last time we spoke with Bat (Episode 192) he told some great stories about his grandfather, Golden Age comic artist Howard Boughner. This time around, we have more contemporary matters to discuss: the potential sale of Warner Bros. Studios to Netflix… or potentially Paramount, or someone else. While Bat and I share the concerns of many people as to how Netflix would treat the WB library, we have more pressing concerns about the general trend of comic book movies and the weight genre movies have put on the film industry as a whole. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #216 - Nick Edwards
2025/11/27
Nick Edwards is wrapping up his THIRD kickstarter, and he has a wild concept: a horror one-shot that's budget priced, but has great artwork. Nick joins Hungry Trilobyte today to talk crowdfunding, comics, and maybe a little about the afterlife? — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #215 - Dan Henk
2025/10/24
Dan Henk is a multi-talented genre fan who has put his passion into writing, illustration, tattoo art, and blends of all the above. Today he comes to Hungry Trilobyte to talk about his upcoming illustrated anthology series, Down Highways in the Dark. Being a fan of anthology fiction myself, I can't help but bring up Twilight Zone. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #214 - Gregg Berger
2025/10/09
Gregg Berger is a voice actor who cares deeply about the fact that he's voiced some timeless characters in long-running franchises, such as Grimlock from Transformers and Odie from Garfield. Gregg has also voiced a few more esoteric roles such as Cornfed Pig on Duckman. In this episode of Hungry Trilobyte, I get to ask Gregg about what it's like to be on the ground floor of such massive franchises, as well as what it's like to collaborate with other voice talent when you can't even be in the same room. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #213 - Candace Kade
2025/09/11
Candace Kade is the author of Enhanced, the first in the Hybrid trilogy of novels. Hybrid tells the story of Lee Urban, a first-year college student from an influential Chinese family, hiding a genetic secret in a future world without privacy. In this episode of Hungry Trilobyte, Candace and I talk about what it takes to make fresh dystopia, how much the real world feeds into it, and if we can make it to a better future. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #212 - Meghan Fitzmartin @ Fan Expo Chicago
2025/08/29
Meghan Fitzmartin is a comic writer who's currently tearing it up at DC, putting her spin on Tim Drake as Robin, Stephanie Brown as Spoiler, and Superboy. Not only that, she has a personal project called Mary Sue that needs some attention. Here we sit down at Fan Expo Chicago to get the details! — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
HTP #211 - Tom Fenoglio Returns! @ Fan Expo Chicago
2025/08/17
Tom Fenoglio and I sit down LIVE at Fan Expo Chicago to talk about Transhuman, the follow-up project from Fenom Comics. Tom gives a lot of honest, personal advice on how to build your career in comics and how to find a team to work with (not to mention the importance of doing so!) — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky & Instagram - @AaronBossig
