Sam Wood: What Happens When It’s the Good Guy?
2026/10/05
TRIGGER WARNING: This episode discusses domestic and family violence, including allegations of physical assault and strangulation.
Today, I’m talking about the recent arrest and charges against former The Bachelor star and 28 by Sam Wood founder Sam Wood - someone I know personally and who was an early guest on this podcast.
This is a tough one. It’s an uncomfortable conversation, but precisely because of that - it's an important one. Because our perception or connection to someone in the spotlight, can complicate talking about the unthinkable.
We unpack the danger of assuming we know what an alleged abuser “looks like”, why our instinct to search for context can sometimes minimise what’s in front of us, and why speaking about these issues matters - particularly for those who may not feel safe or able to use their own voice.
Then, Kim Kardashian says she and Kanye West are trying to “hold back” 13-year-old North West from fame. But when North already has extraordinary fame, access and exposure, what does “holding her back” actually mean? This digs into fame, identity and the responsibility of raising a child in the spotlight.

Lindsay Clancy, KJ Biermann & RHONY’s Jessel vs. the Kennedys
2026/09/29
This week on Pop Therapy, I unpack the questions still troubling me about Lindsay Clancy, Reddington's moves and intentions for the next imminent court date, and the online debates surrounding this deeply complex case. I also discuss the disturbing allegations against Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s son, KJ, and the family fallout playing out publicly.
Then, we’re back in Bravo territory: Real Housewives of New York, Jessel Taank testing my patience and the OG Housewives reminding us why we fell in love with this world in the first place. There’s plenty to discuss.

Patrick Clancy’s 60 Minutes Interview: Rachel Danis, Public Backlash and What Was Left Out
2026/09/21
Patrick Clancy has spoken out following the mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy case - and his 60 Minutes interview has done little to help him escape the public scrutiny.
In this solo episode, I get into what Patrick said about Lindsay’s mental-health decline, losing Cora, Dawson and Callan, forgiving Lindsay and rebuilding his life with his new wife, Dr Rachel Danis.
I also get into the interview’s most uncomfortable questions, the fierce public reaction and the revealing clips 60 Minutes promoted - then left out of the final broadcast.
Why were these moments cut? Did the interview humanise Patrick - or only deepen the public’s suspicions? And are we analysing actual evidence, or deciding what grief should look and sound like?
From the editing choices to the body-language commentary and unanswered questions still surrounding the Lindsay Clancy case, there is a lot to unpack.
Content warning: This episode discusses the deaths of children, suicide, self-harm and postpartum mental illness. Please listen with care.

Breaking the Silence: Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph on Domestic Violence
2026/09/20
In this deeply personal episode, Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph of Below Deck Down Under, returns to Pop Therapy for a raw conversation about domestic violence, shame and the complicated reality of leaving an abusive relationship.
With the Below Deck franchise facing renewed scrutiny following serious legal developments involving Below Deck Mediterranean’s Nathan Gallagher, Tzarina explains why sharing her own experience feels especially important - and how breaking her silence might help other women find their voice.
Together, we explore why leaving is rarely as simple as walking away, the importance of compassionate support and the courage it takes to speak publicly.
A confronting but vital conversation about survival, resilience and breaking the silence.

Lindsay Clancy: Too Many Questions, Not Enough Answers
2026/09/12
This is a very different kind of solo episode for me. I’m stepping away from my usual pop-culture conversations to talk about the Lindsay Clancy case and the devastating deaths of her three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan.
As a therapist who has worked extensively with grief and trauma, I wanted to look at Lindsay’s reported deteriorating mental health and the deeply fragmented care she received. But the question at the heart of this case isn’t just whether Lindsay was mentally unwell. It’s also: what actually happened inside that house? And what is at the heart of the uprising of women of the world, rallying around Lindsay Clancy, gripped by this case.
Following the mistrial, I’m unpacking the details I still can’t reconcile - the incredibly narrow timeline, Patrick Clancy’s movements, Lindsay’s catastrophic injuries and hypothermia, ICU delirium and gaping holes in the evidence.
I am not claiming to know what happened. But reasonable doubt does not require us to solve the case - it requires us to ask whether the evidence was investigated thoroughly enough.

Hayu, Housewives & Hollywood: Jus Hill Tells All
2026/08/22
This week's guest has spent 20 years in the entertainment industry, which means he has interviewed everyone from genuine Hollywood A-listers to reality TV royalty - and, crucially, has lived to tell the tale.
Justin Hill is one of those people who has been behind the microphone, on the red carpet and in the room for some of the biggest celebrity moments - and after meeting in person at Hayu FanFest, I knew I needed to get him on Pop Therapy and start asking questions. Immediately.
And this episode is SO much fun.
We get into the absolute love fest that was Hayu FanFest - the Housewives, the Bravolebs, the behind-the-scenes moments and why the whole thing somehow felt like the world’s most glamorous family reunion.
And then we open the celebrity interview vault.
After two decades of interviewing some of the biggest names in entertainment, Jus has stories. We talk about the interviews he’ll never forget, the celebrities who completely surprised him, the ones who were even better than you’d hope… and, naturally, the ones that did not go according to plan.
Because what happens when you finally meet someone you’ve watched on screen for years - and they’re absolutely delightful? And what happens when they’re… not?
This is celebrity culture from someone who has actually been in the room for twenty years.
Jus Hill is on Pop Therapy. Let’s get into it.

The Edit is Everything with Ryan Bailey
2026/07/30
My friend and returning Pop Therapy favourite Ryan Bailey is back, and few people understand reality TV like he does. Ryan has one of the sharpest reads on reality TV anywhere, so I wanted to pick the brain of someone who genuinely understands the unseen mechanics behind the genre we all obsess over.
We unpack why some shows become cultural phenomena while others flop, how editing shapes everything we think we know - why Love Island USA hits differently to Bravo, the psychology of parasocial fandom, and what reality TV is becoming in the age of AI.
And of course we hit all the latest moments from The Valley, In The City, Scamanda and the Housewives - from what we love and love to hate.
If you've ever wondered what really makes great reality television, this episode is packed with insights you won't hear anywhere else.

RHOC, Below Deck Med & the Psychology of Reality TV with Heidi Anderson
2026/07/27
We're unpacking RHOC, Below Deck Med, Scamanda, the In The City reunion and why reality TV continues to fascinate us.
Today I'm joined by one of my favourite people and an OG Pop Therapy collaborator, the one and only Heidi Anderson. Former reality TV star, radio host, PR queen and genuine legend, Heidi joins me for a conversation that goes everywhere - from the current state of The Real Housewives and Below Deck Med to why we're so fascinated by human behaviour, conflict and the beautifully messy ways people navigate life.
We unpack the reality TV shows that still have us hooked, the franchises that may have lost their spark, and why authentic storytelling will always beat manufactured drama. We also dive into accountability, redemption arcs, mental health, family dynamics and what reality TV can actually teach us about ourselves.
Plus, Heidi shares what's next for her, including her exciting new upcoming podcast, Shit Scared.

Love Island USA Finale: Zach's Backlash & Our Biggest Hot Takes with Dani Gossip Girl (The Villa Download)
2026/07/17
It's the Love Island USA finale, and Danielle Peterson from The Villa Download (aka Dani Gossip Girl) is back for one last trip to the Villa. We ask the question everyone was thinking: what happened to that final week? From chaos and chemistry to... waiting for a text.
We unpack the mental health impact of leaving the Villa and walking straight into the court of public opinion, the relentless and undeserved backlash against Zach, Sincere's dad delivering the reality check of the season, and does Aniya even like Carl?!
Plus, I recap a whirlwind trip to Sydney for Prime Video's Elle premiere with Hannah Ferrier, Lexi Minetree, Renée Bargh, Tanya Hennessy, Cyclone Cyrell and one very rain-soaked rooftop party before heading back to reality... and back to the Villa for one final debrief.

Love Island USA: Big Beds, Bombshells & Bad Decisions with Dani Gossip Girl (The Villa Download)
2026/06/19
Help! I've fallen headfirst into the Love Island rabbit hole - and desperately needed an expert translator.
Danielle Peterson (Dani Gossip Girl) from The Villa Download joins me to break down the history of Love Island, the psychology behind the villa, the strategy, the gameplay, and why this season feels suspiciously close to softcore p*rn!
We unpack the coupling, recoupling, bombshells, manipulation, genuine connections and the secrets longtime viewers know - that Love Island newbies don't. Plus, Danielle reveals what's still to come this season, and let's just say... I was not prepared.
If you're obsessed with Love Island USA, curious about the hype or simply trying to understand why millions of people can't look away, this episode is your ultimate villa survival guide.

Sincere is Macking, Brian is Tracking and West is Sent Packing
2026/06/16
West is out, Brian is still acting up, and Jana has officially entered her Love Island era.
This week, we unpack the news that West Wilson won't be returning to Summer House and ask the question nobody seems willing to answer: what exactly were West and Amanda bringing to the show by the end? Between the dead energy, dodged conversations and carefully curated non-answers, was it time for a cast shake-up?
Then it's over to the uncomfortable RHORI finale, where Brian somehow manages to make things worse by confirming the affair to Gary and then being arrested for tracking Rulla's movements... and still showing up to film!? The audacity. The complete lack of self-preservation. We break down the finale, the unanswered questions, and what could be one very messy reunion.
And finally, Jana ventures into virgin territory: Love Island. We talk fast-tracked relationships, questionable intentions, couples we're rooting for, couples we're side-eyeing, and why this season feels like it's toeing the line between dating show and soft-core television.
Fake sincerity, real tracking, and one very unexpected Love Island obsession.

Don't Come For Crappens and Gas Station Sushi
2026/06/09
This week, Dana Regan, The Bravo Investigator and I are diving into a heated Bravo content creator debate, with a mental health message. Below Deck Down Under alum Eddy Hounsell called out Ben and Ronnie from Watch What Crappens with many words to say about their comments about men's appearances. We unpack the tricky line between commentary and criticism. When reality stars sign up for public scrutiny, what comes with the territory? And where, if anywhere, should creators draw the line?
Then it's over to Rhode Island, where absolutely nobody is keeping calm. Liz is still blazing a trail (and taking menopause to the lawmakers), Cheating Brian with no leg to stand on, delivers a nasty "gas station sushi" comparison, and the feuds keep multiplying. Liz vs Alicia, Liz vs Jo-Ellen, Rosie vs Kelsey... at this point, it's easier to list who's not fighting.
Real Housewives. Real relationships. Real grudges. And one very unfortunate sushi analogy.

The Summer House Questions We're Still Asking and RHORI Recap
2026/06/05
Dana Regan, The Bravo Investigator is back for our weekly recap, and this week we unpack all the questions we still have from the Summer House Reunion - from the sneaky looks and suspect behaviour to what has still not been addressed from the Summer House season. I give some context on Ben Waddell from an Australian perspective, and why his tone may not be landing with international viewers.
Then we launch into our RHORI recap, where we ask - is it menopause or childhood trauma that's causing Liz to lash out like this? When the reaction is this big, it's rarely about the issue itself. So why is the "homeless" situation striking such a nerve?
