Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers
2026/10/13
So for October we decided to continue our watch of the Halloween films from a few years ago. We did Halloween (1978), Halloween 2, Halloween 4, and Halloween 5 a couple of years ago for October (with Halloween 3 coming years ago when we did witch movies). So we are starting out this month with the next film up - Halloween 6 aka Halloween 666 aka Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. We watched the theatrical cut and do we have thoughts and feelings about it. What were they? Join us this week to find out and as always mind the doors.
Weapons
2026/10/06
Well we did it we finally finished our extended series of movies about identity. What started as an idea for Josh's birthday month has led to us covering some pretty incredible movies and today we are ending our series with Zach Cregger's Weapons. Now if you're a long time listener you'll know we previously did Barbarian and it scared the hell out of Cyndi. Did Weapons do the same? Did we like it? Was Cyndi creeped out by Gladys? Join us this week to find out.
Cure (1997)
2026/09/25
Well we finally watched and talked about Josh's birthday movie the Japanese classic Cure from 1997. This dread inducing film is part Se7en, part David Lynch and the stuff of nightmares. However, did Cyndi like it? Did Josh find a theme of the dissolution of modern society in the movie? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us this week and watch what Josh lovingly believes is his second favorite horror movie of the 1990's.
District 9
2026/09/01
Hello, I have two bits of important information for you.
First, we watched District 9 the incredible, independent, sci-fi tale of as mid-level manager who turns into an alien and has to run for his life to avoid being eaten or torn apart and studied. Second, we are carrying over our identity horror month one week so we can watch Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cure.
So buckle up and join us as we watch District 9.
Perfect Blue
2026/08/25
Well we did it, we watched our first animated film. That's right we watched Satoshi Kon's crazy horror, stalker, identity nightmare film about a Japanese pop singer who just wants to be a serious actress. Did we like it? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out.
Seconds
2026/08/14
Well we watched a Rock Hudson movie for a horror podcast. Our first film of the month of August, a month of horror movies about identity.
Did we like it? Did we love the black and white photography? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out.
Dangerous Animals
2026/08/04
Well we made it to the end of our series on Summer vacations gone horribly wrong. We figured what better way to end it than in Australia with a certified banger. We watched Dangerous Animals but did we like it? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out.
The River Wild
2026/07/30
Ladies and gentleman sometimes you see a horror film and it's filled with complete unknowns or people making their first film. Sometimes it's a cast of up and coming actors fresh off that television show or playing the second lead in larger movies. Well, sometimes it's just a cast of certified height of their game. Which is what we have this week with The River Wild. A whitewater rafting thriller with Meryl Streep, Kevin Bacon, David Straithairn, John C. Reilly, and Joseph Mazzello.
Did we like it? Were we floored by Kevin Bacon's performance? Did we talk about the social constructs of gender identity because of this movie? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out.
Joy Ride (2001)
2026/07/21
Well our month of vacations gone wrong has landed us in the car with Steve Zahn, Leelee Sobieski, and Paul Walker as they flee from a murderous trucker who is just a voice on the radio and seemingly everywhere at once. That's right we watched Joy Ride directed by John Dahl. Did we like it? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out.
Friday the 13th (1980)
2026/07/09
Hello and welcome to July. Well we finally did it, we watched the 1980's Friday the 13th. Cyndi somehow being from New Jersey had never seen this seminal slasher film and the reason for the summer camp slasher craze of the 80s. However, did we like it? Did it scare her to death? Join us this week to find out.
Sleepaway Camp
2026/07/01
Sorry for the irregular posting of episodes. This has been a crazy summer for both of us here at Let's Scare My Girlfriend to Death. We hope to get back on track next month as we continue a Summer of horror with a month of how I spent my summer horror movies.
In the meantime enjoy our episode on Sleepaway Camp and Cyndi's genuine surprise at the ending.
The Final Girls
2026/06/21
Hello, we are so back with a belated month of summer camp horror movies. We are going to kick this shindig off with a holdover from last month's movies about moms with The Final Girls. A little movie with a lot of heart and some incredible jokes. Join us as we venture off to the Let's Scare My Girlfriend to Death summer camp.
Lights Out
2026/06/01
We continue our month of mother's day movies with a horror mom that's more cautionary than some of our previously celebrated moms. We watched and finally got to record our episode for Lights Out. If you're a long time listener you know anything that as regular and well crafted jump scares really scares Cyndi. However was it enough to kill her? You'll have to listen to find out and join us next week as we wrap up mother's day and begin June with The Final Girls.
Housebound
2026/05/21
Did you watch Panic Room and think I loved this but I wish it were a tonal roller coaster that's both funny and scary? Well then you're in luck because we watched Housebound. A movie that scared Cyndi more than Panic Room by a country mile. Did we like it? Where we entertained? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out.
Panic Room
2026/05/13
We begin our month of celebrating moms with a New York City Brownstone, a hidden fortune, a corn rowed Jared Leto, a sympathetic Forest Whitaker, a psychopathic Dwight Yoakum, a young Kristen Stewart, a protective motherly Jodie Foster, a meticulous director in David Fincher, and it all centers on a Panic Room. That's right we watched the 2002 David Fincher Panic Room join us if you dare.
