Peter - A Second Chance at a New Label
2026/10/04
Labels. We use them to describe what's inside, to inform, and even to determine value. But we're not talking about shopping products or office supplies—we're talking about people. We use words to describe someone's character, and sometimes those labels become the way we determine their worth. Those labels can stick to us, too, shaping how we see ourselves and our value. What do I do when I've allowed the negative labels others have placed on me to define me? How do I get a second chance at seeing myself through God's eyes and letting Him determine my true value?Speaker: Marshall BrownSecond Chances seriesFlagstone Church of Christhttps://flagstone.church
David - A Second Chance at a Clean Heart
2026/09/27
Often when we make mistakes or make decisions that hurt others, we feel remorse. Sometimes we're truly sorry for the pain we've caused; sometimes we're just sorry we got caught. But Scripture shows us that no matter who we are or what we've done, we have the opportunity for a second chance. Not simply a chance to apologize or "fix" our mistakes, but a chance to become something different—to be changed from the inside out. What if the most important decision I made today was to accept God's offer to become something new?
Elisha's Servant - A Second Chance at Deeper Faith
2026/09/20
It's easy to have faith when things are going our way, when God answers our prayers, or when He blesses us in unexpected ways. But what happens when life gets difficult and we face circumstances beyond our control? We may not abandon our faith, but we can struggle to grow in it. We become frustrated, disillusioned, and doubtful. Sometimes what we need is a second chance - another opportunity to see that God not only cares, but is already at work in ways we cannot see. Sometimes we need a second chance at a deeper faith. Could God be offering me a second chance to see my circumstances - and my faith - in a whole new way?
Joseph - A Second Chance When Life Doesn't Go as Planned
2026/09/13
Years of Joseph’s life were stolen from him. After nearly being murdered by his eleven older brothers, he was sold into slavery and taken to Egypt. There, even as he faithfully served his master, he was falsely accused and thrown into prison. | Joseph’s story is a masterclass in what to do when life doesn’t go as planned: trust that God is with you, hold onto what you believe, and remain faithful wherever He has placed you.
Flagstone Live | Jonah - A Second Chance to Answer God's Call
2026/09/06
God called Jonah for a specific purpose and had a plan for his life. Jonah didn’t like that plan…so he ran. Eventually, God gave Jonah a second chance to do what He had called him to do. How often do we resist God’s plans for our lives? And when He gives us a second chance, will we embrace the opportunity and follow where He leads? Sometimes, the second chance is where the real story begins.
Flagstone Live | Refusing to Come Down
2026/08/30
We all have times when we've walked away from something. A project. A New Year's resolution. A relationship. We were sincere when we made the commitment, but something distracted us, someone discouraged us, or something else became more important. It happens with the things God puts on our hearts, too. We sense His calling, and we're excited about it, we're committed to it...until we're not. That's a habit many of us need to break. We need to discover how to stay committed to what God has called us to do—even when something or someone tries to pull us away.
Flagstone Live | Dealing with Negative Responses
2026/08/24
Sometimes we sense a calling from God to make a change in our lives, stop a hurtful habit, give more, or step into an opportunity to help someone. But even when we’re convinced God is leading us to take action, there may still be challenges to overcome. We may face people who criticize or judge us, tell us we’re wasting our time, or convince us we’re going to fail. So what do we do when our sense of calling is met with negative reactions? How do we tune out the critics and doubters and keep moving forward with the purpose God has placed on our hearts?
Flagstone Live | First Pray, Then Act
2026/08/17
Sometimes God puts something on our hearts – a change we need to make, an opportunity to serve, or a step of faith He’s calling us to take. And usually our first instinct is to make a plan and get to work. But there’s a crucial step we can’t afford to skip: prayer. We need to talk to God, because prayer gives us the strength to follow His lead and the faith to step into the unknown. So what does it look like to pray before I act?
Flagstone Live | A Heart That Can Be Burdened
2026/08/10
There are moments when we feel compelled to do something—an urge, a burden, a calling that won’t let us stay still. Sometimes God places that kind of burden on our hearts, giving us a desire to take action. But what do we do with it? Do we step into the unknown and follow where He leads, or do we let fear, priorities, or selfishness keep us from acting? Nehemiah had something on his heart that he couldn’t ignore, so he did something about it. What can his decisive actions teach us about responding when God places something on our hearts?
Flagstone Live | The Rewards Are Worth the Wait
2026/08/03
Two of the hardest things about waiting are the uncertainty and the lack of control. When I'm not sure what is going to happen or when it's going to happen, or when there's nothing I can do to speed up or influence the process, it's easy to become anxious and frustrated. When it comes to waiting on God's timing, those feelings can become overwhelming. And nowhere is that waiting more profound than when we think about God's promise of something better beyond this life. Is that promise real? And if it is, is it worth the wait?
Flagstone Live | The Shaping Is Worth the Wait
2026/07/26
Years ago, Tom Petty sang, "The waiting is the hardest part." He was right—we hate to wait. We get especially frustrated when we're waiting on God to answer our prayers or make His direction clear. But sometimes God uses those seasons of waiting to shape us, mold us into who He wants us to be, smooth out our rough edges, and strengthen our faith. While we're waiting for God to work around us, He's often doing His greatest work within us. In those moments, I need to remember that His shaping, His crafting, and His timing are all worth the wait.
Flagstone Live | Surrender Is Worth the Wait
2026/07/19
We live in a world that expects everything now. Faster shipping, instant answers, immediate results—we hate to wait. But beneath our impatience is often a desire for control. What if God is calling us to let go of that control and trust His timing instead?
Flagstone Live | Holy Days - Festival of Tabernacles
2026/07/13
In ancient Israel, God's people were commanded to spend one week each year living in temporary shelters. It was part remembrance and part celebration. God wanted them to remember how He rescued and cared for their ancestors in the wilderness while also celebrating His continued faithfulness and provision. What can God's people today learn from this ancient festival? How do we intentionally remember God's faithfulness and celebrate the countless ways He continues to provide for us?
Flagstone Live | Holy Days - Day of Atonement
2026/07/05
The Day of Atonement was one of the most important days on Israel's calendar. More than a reminder of sin, it was a powerful reminder of God's grace and His desire to bring forgiveness and restoration to His people. Today, we no longer look to sacrifices or rituals—we look to Jesus, whose sacrifice on the cross provides the atonement we all need.
Flagstone Live | Holy Days - Festival of Trumpets
2026/06/28
The Feast of Trumpets is one of the most mysterious festivals in the Old Testament. Unlike the other Holy Days, God gave very little explanation for it. Yet throughout Israel's history, the sound of a trumpet meant it was time to stop, listen, and respond. What does that teach us about God? Is He trying to get our attention today?
