Disclosure… there’s that word again. Don’t try to define it; it’s bigger than Webster’s definition. In today’s social media, news, and halls of Congress… Disclosure is a hot topic. In order to understand Disclosure, we must first understand the Black Swan Event. By definition,  a Black Swan event is a highly rare, unpredictable occurrence with massive and severe, widespread consequences that is often inappropriately rationalized in hindsight, as if it could have been foreseen. These extremely rare events, lying far outside normal expectations,  defy standard forecasting, causing major systemic disruptions and dramatically impact finance, politics, science, technologies, accademia, and society. A Black Swan Event, for all intents and purposes, are so improbable, they should not take place… yet occasionally, they do. Covid19… Possible, but highly improbable. Won’t happen in a modern world. Yet it did, and over 7 million lives were lost. The 9/11 attacks on US soil. Could happen, but with multiple threat detection and stop-gap technologies defending the US, it was highly improbable. Won’t happen. Yet it did. Three thousand lives ended, the NY skyline changed forever, and it had a massive impact on global economics. Black Swan Events… Possible, but highly improbable. Disclosure is a Black Swan Event… it just hasn’t happened yet. Seventy percent of Americans believe in Extraterrestrial life… UFOs, UAPs, USOs, Non-Human Intelligence, and Trans-Medium Crafts.  Forty Nine Percent of Americans believe that these Non-Human Intelligence (ETs and Aliens), are not only real… they are in fact, here amongst us and working with world leaders to coexist.  Sounds a little crazy…? Yeah, I’d agree with you. Disclosure, by definition, is the action of making new or secret information known. The President of the United States addressing the people of the world to tell them that Aliens are real… That’s Disclosure. It’s Highly Improbable… Can't be real… Never gonna happen… It’s a Black Swan Event that could change the world in ways we can’t even conceive of. And thats what we’re talking about tonight. You’ve got explosive round-table discussions arguing about size and power, muzzle velocity, hot rounds and penetrating kinetic energy. 45 over a 9 if you want stopping power. 308 instead of 5.56 cuz the 2.23, well it’s just too small… and never go on a scouting run without your 12 gauge.      Big calibers. Tactical setups. Chest rigs that scream… Fallujah, here we come. Everybody is talking about stopping power like they’re planning for world war Z. And why not talk about such things? The Garden Gun, Pea Shooter, Pop-Gun, Plinker, the Tick-Licker, yeah, or my personal favorite… the ol’ TooToo. The .22 doesn’t look impressive. It doesn’t flex for you on Instagram. It won’t punch your shoulder, rattle your teeth, or cause your ears to ring when it’s fired from a gun. What it will do however, is put protein in your belly, it will feed you. Quietly. Efficiently. Consistently. As Preppers, we all know that every round of ammo you carry has its place in your kit. And that holds true for the humble 22LR. It’s tiny, unimpressive, and well, sort of cute. But it's also underestimated and often overlooked as an essential tool when the grid goes down. The 22 rifle is a lightweight tool that’s easy to transport, in some cases can hold upwards of 100 rounds of ammo, it’s great for training new shooters without fear, and reliable enough to keep working long after the noise of the world fades. You strap on a fully loaded rucksack to your back, and stand in front of the mirror grinning at yourself. Oh yeah. Don’t I look cool? Don’t I look tactical? Now don’t lie. We’ve all done it once or twice. Hell, I'm guilty of it too. Way back when I was a younger man… I got my first rucksack, ran into the house, stuffed it with pillows, and stood there gaulking at myself in front of the mirror for 10 mins. Then the real tragedy happened. After returning the pillows to my bed, I took my new pack to the closet and hung it up next to my other gear… where it stayed, collecting dust, for the remainder of its sad life. Rucks, backpacks, and kit, aren't trendy. We don’t get them to look cool or tactical. Are they tactical… yes, by definition they are. Tactical - specialized actions or items designed and used to achieve immediate, short-termed, and specific goals. Rucksacks are designed to help your body carry a load from point A to point B. That is their tactical purpose. Though we may not believe this, people are also designed to carry a load from point A to point B. But we have to practice these actions to get good at doing them. Very few people can load 60 pounds onto their backs and shoulders and complete a long distance hike. It is a fact that I am one of those who cannot do it. I fully concede and admit the tragic truth that I suck, at some shit. But in a real SHTF situation — when vehicles won’t start and roads are blocked, and staying home is no longer an option… your body becomes your transport, and your strength and stamina become margins of distance. That’s the reality of it. It’s brutal. It’s tiring. I’m tired just thinking and talking about rucking. My ego says “cool”. My brain says “run away… hide”. Which is why this episode is important to me… and hopefully, to you as well.  But we don’t have to hope… cuz there is hope. Ya see, We can train for this. By starting light and slow, and being repetitive, we can build up to where we want to be. I know… it’s January… it’s a frozen tundra out there… it’s below freezing and in some places like here, it’s below zero. I sure as hell don’t want to be working in my garden in ski pants and snow boots… hands all numb and frozen boogers in my beard. Hell No. And therein lies the beauty of it… My garden isn’t outside under a foot of snow. It’s inside. In the warmth of my grow-room. A 20 x 15’ area of work space in the basement with shelves and grow lights, seed starting mixes and potting soils, and seed trays sitting on top of heating mats. There’s a bar-height table with a 36x36” black plastic drain pan that we’ve repurposed as a work surface to keep soil, compost, and water from reaching the floor. Now don’t be trying to picture some pristine climate-controlled sciency type of space. Noooo… This is at best, a piece-mealed and frankensteined mash of incompatible interconnected tools of the trade acquired over time and sourced from the cheapest vendors, mostly Amazon and Walmart, and sometimes free… think Dirty Garden Hoe dumpster-diving on the way back from the feed store kind of free… All tossed together and organized into a perfect form of dirty workspace. Does yours have to be as big as ours? No it doesn’t. It can be smaller, much smaller. Probably should be smaller. We found out last season that our grow-room is actually not big enough. Remember, our garden is 1250 sqf… I’ve lived in apartments that were half that size. And this next season, we’re adding another 1250 sqf to it… though I haven’t quite figured out exactly how yet but, it’s gonna happen. We need that space. But, even if you’re in a smaller space like an apartment or a flat, you can and should have a grow-room, be it a little corner of the bedroom or window ledges in the living room or countertops in the kitchen or bathroom… or all of the above. Now is the time to start. And Buddy’s got you covered. He’s got a Top 10 list all about what we need to be doing right now in the dead of Winter, so that our gardens will be lush and plentiful come Spring.
