S8:E25: Jekyll and Hyde
2026/10/20
This week in Southern California soccer, the LA Galaxy are still searching for consistency after letting a lead slip in a 2–2 draw against San Diego FC, leaving plenty of questions heading into the LAFC derby. Angel City FC is trending in the opposite direction, extending its unbeaten streak to eight games with an impressive 3–2 comeback win over Denver, while the San Diego Wave defeated North Carolina 2–1 to strengthen their playoff push. Ventura County FC gave fans something to celebrate, rallying to a thrilling 3–2 extra-time victory over Minnesota United 2 to advance to the MLS NEXT Pro semifinals. Meanwhile, AV ALTA FC’s disappointing season continues, with the Lancaster club sitting 13th in USL League One and out of playoff contention after another difficult run of results. On a brighter note, New Mexico United has secured a playoff berth and a top-four spot in the USL Championship, giving its fans real reason to believe in a postseason run.
S8:E24: Young Guns and Late Runs: USMNT, NWSL, and LA Galaxy
2026/09/27
Christian and Michelle talk soccer from the US national team through Southern California. We break down the USMNT's post-World Cup friendly against Peru and what Pochettino's young, MLS Next-Pro heavy roster could tell us about the next generation of the national team. Then it's over to the NWSL overlooking the standings as the season winds down. Finally, LA Galaxy have somehow put together back-to-back wins for the first time this season after a comeback against Colorado Rapids. The results are finally coming, but momentum can't be wasted. The payoff pressure is on and we'll see what comes next across American Soccer.
S8:E23: Setting Standards?
2026/09/17
This week, Michelle and Christian get a little cathartic about the LA Galaxy experience. After another opportunity to gain ground in the Western Conference slipped away against Seattle, we talk about why simply staying alive in the playoff race isn’t enough for a club with this history. We love the Galaxy, we show up for countless reasons, and the community surrounding this club means something—but ultimately, what happens on the pitch matters. Lately, parts of the Galaxy experience have started to feel cheapened when the results don’t match the history, investment, or expectations attached to the crest. We question whether this squad has enough hunger, whether the players can deliver what’s needed, and why the Galaxy keep failing to capitalize when the teams around them leave the door open. With Minnesota next and time running short, we’re asking for more than nostalgia and past trophies: the standards created by this club’s history have to be lived up to by the team wearing the crest today.
S8:E22: Freaky Friday
2026/09/05
Plot twist: did Michelle and Christian just switch bodies?! This week felt like a soccer version of Freaky Friday as we somehow found ourselves switching our usual stances. One of us is suddenly seeing reasons for optimism, while the other is asking, “Okay…but this is unacceptable." We break down the latest from the NWSL, including Angel City’s fight to stay in the conversation, before turning to the LA Galaxy, where consistency, discipline, and the direction of the season are still giving us plenty to debate. Same teams. Same co-hosts. Completely different energy. Apparently all it took was one weekend of soccer for us to swap personalities. Tune in for NWSL talk, Galaxy analysis, disagreements, unexpected agreements, and the moment we realized: Wait…when did YOU become me?!
S8:E21: Miasma in Montreal
2026/08/28
The LA Galaxy escaped Montreal with a 2–2 draw, but another red card, this time to JT Marcinkowski once again left the Galaxy battling themselves as much as their opponent. There are still flashes of what this team could be, and the points remain tantalizingly close, but at this stage of the season, potential isn’t enough. With a tough trip to face San Diego FC on Saturday, the Galaxy have to turn promising connections, resilience, and talk of a playoff push into actual results. Michelle and Christian break down the Montreal draw, the continuing discipline problems, and the question hanging over the rest of the season: when does potential finally become performance?
S8:E20: From the Ashes We Rise
2026/08/21
The LA Galaxy are refusing to let their season die. After battling through back-to-back matches with 10 men, emerging connections between Marco Reus, Harbor Miller and Joseph Paintsil — plus the additions of Kyogo Furuhashi and Chucky Lozano — have suddenly put the playoffs within reach. Michelle and Christian break down JT Marcinkowski’s heroics, the Galaxy’s troubling discipline issues, the bigger pattern of inconsistency between MLS Cup-winning seasons, and the question heading into Montreal: are the Galaxy truly rising from the ashes, or is this another temporary spark?
S8:E19: Still Standing LA Galaxy
2026/08/08
We're still standing as loyal LA Galaxy fans. Coming off a piss-poor El Tráfico performance, the Galaxy have drawn their last two matches as the Western Conference battle gets increasingly punchy and unpredictable. There are still bright spots: Miller is showing promise, Marcinkowski has been able to keep a clean sheet, the connection and creativity with Reus is sparking growth, Paintsil remains our goal scorer until the new signings prove otherwise, and Furuhashi made a short but promising debut. The Galaxy have plenty of work to do, but we’re hoping they can turn these draws into points and start pushing up the table instead of down. Note: This episode includes some audio dropouts and technical difficulties. Thanks for sticking with us! PLUS FIFA World Cup Final and remember to watch NWSL. Stay tuned.
