Episode 34: Sophie Hallwright, Elise Mireille and Ella Newell share their sense of SEXUALITY
2021/10/17
Sophie Hallwright’s T-O-Diary piece ‘SEXUALITY (specifically mine)’ sparked such a powerful response, so we decided to bring the conversation to the podcast. Sophie received an outpour of messages from people relating to her experiences with body image, femininity and pleasure. This topic certainly struck a chord with many.
No stone is left unturned as we talk dating, creativity, orgasms, shame and vulnerability. We explore what it feels like to reclaim pleasure and sensuality, and to embrace being unapologetically ourselves. Enjoy listening!

THERAPY OF DANCE Class on Wednesday in Auckland/Tāmaki brought us to this conclusion: BELONGING feels possible when the environment we are in allows us to be vulnerable…
Welcome back to THERAPY OF DANCE, IN CONVERSATION! It’s been awhile. T.O.D. Director’s Elise & Ella are back, although now calling each other from seperate continents, and are joined by Grace & Jordan, T.O.D. Choreographer’s. Together, we shared one by one what BELONGING means to us, in the hope that you feel at home in our conversation, and at our classes in person.
Episode 30: Final episode of Season 2, Elise & Ella IN REFLECTION with themselves (our many selves...)
2020/12/14
We made it to our 30th podcast episode! Can you believe it?! THERAPY OF DANCE, IN CONVERSATION has reached the end of its second season and we are so grateful to you all listening for making it this far with us, Elise and Ella… That’s why this episode is one straight from our hearts! As a final cheers to 2020, we sat down together (with new microphone stands!) to reflect on all the moments in the last season that left an impact on us. We got personal and to be honest, a little drunk. Would it be really Christmas without this?!
Episode 29: IN CONVERSATION with Gifty M.I.K., Choreographer, Dancer & Teacher
2020/12/08
As an artist, Gifty does it all - she’s a part of four different dance families in Germany. First there’s the M.I.K. (which stands for movement is key) family, who were recently featured in Puss Puss Magazine, I quote “not only for their contribution in arts and entertainment but also for their ability to turn their struggles into something meaningful through art... Being black in Germany meant that the family had to work twice as hard to gain the position that they’re in… This created a role model function for the younger generation of black creatives in Germany.”
Gifty’s also a part of the all female Shero Movement collective, the Kiki House of Angels and Gorgeous House of Gucci in Germany. She discovered the vogue and ballroom scene during a time she was seeking to empower herself through body language and inclusivity. She believes ballroom goes beyond the runway and she’s able to carry confidence in everyday life because of this.
Gifty and Elise met on set for the Nike Blazer Holiday campaign. Nike wants to support artists, dancers, activists and many more by giving them a shoe that is just like them: versatile, iconic, never the same. We are very grateful to share that this episode of THERAPY OF DANCE IN CONVERSATION is sponsored by Nike.
Episode 28: IN CONVERSATION with Helen Woltering, Creativity Mentor & Creator of Wild Women Studios
2020/11/23
From her past career as a Creative Director in the fashion industry, Helen pivoted into Creative Coaching… Who says we can’t do it all?
Helen is passionate about out-of-the-box thinking that will lead her clients to find their professional sweet-spot and helps women unleash their creative energy, by looking at past patterns, blockers, values, talents and resources. Empowering clients to step into their worth and stand tall within the patriarchal structure, that keeps us down.

For Conor’s latest project, Brother’s Seeker, he has joined forces with 3 others to form a community dedicated to understanding men’s issues, through online courses and events.
Conor also hosts fantastic group and 1 on 1 meditation sessions, creating space for people to feel grounded in the now….. with his very soothing voice.

The essence of Vedanta is self-knowledge and covers 6 interdependent principles. They are clarity of intention, awareness, empathy for one another, appreciation for each other and what you receive, stretching beyond your own limits and letting go.
