Gated 73// Isey // September 2026
2026/09/02
Gated Podcast is back once again, and this time we welcome Isey into the fold.
Isey began his foray into the breaks and drum and bass scene in late 90s Manchester, a time when going out involved considerably more effort and considerably less documentation. Since then, he has been busy championing music and local talent through nights including Commercial Breaks and Erase The Tapes, the latter alongside Node.
In 2021, Isey and his long time friend and co promoter Denis Phoenix were invited to host a fortnightly show on Eruption Radio. They have since celebrated five years on the station, serving up everything from reggae to drum and bass and presumably a fair amount of music that would confuse anyone looking for a sensible genre classification.
For Gated Podcast 73, Isey takes things in an electro direction, treating us to a selection of some of his favourite electro tracks from the last few years. Before we get there though, we kick things off with a few bits from the Gated catalogue.
If you fancy investigating further, head over to our Bandcamp and have a rummage through the shelves. There is plenty to get stuck into, and recent releases from Gated are sitting there waiting patiently for your attention.

B1 Paul Hierophant - The Hydra (clip)
2026/08/08
Active in London’s electronic underground since the late 80s, Paul Hierophant has long worked in the space between techno, ambient, and dub, preferring atmosphere, tone, and slow-burn tension to obvious dancefloor tricks.
The Elder Gods finds him further out on the fringes of electro, where the synths loom large and the delay and reverb units are given a proper workout. The result is widescreen, ominous, and immersive.
The title track is a monolithic slab of rhythm where corroded synth pressure and ritualistic percussion feel less like a groove than some ancient machine grinding slowly back into life.
Titans stalks forward on a cavernous half-step pulse, all foggy bass weight and fractured metallic vocal echos, like dub techno that has wandered into darker mythological territory and decided to stay there.
The Hydra coils around a lurching low-end spine, its tentacular FX flickering and mutating while the groove stubbornly regenerates.
Works and Days rounds things off with a standout alien vocal loop drifting through pulsing bass and drums, lending the track a meditative feel that works just as well for late-night headphone sessions as it does in the deeper end of a DJ set.
This is an EP for selectors who like their electro expansive, slightly strange, and built for proper sound systems.

A2 Vrijheidsdromer (clip)
2026/08/08
Marwan’s debut on Gated finds the sweet spot between dub, deep, and ambient techno.
The focus is firmly on rhythm: layered percussion, spacious atmospherics, and slowly evolving textures that reveal a little more with every listen.
These are immersive, patiently crafted tracks that never lose sight of the dancefloor.
Tedere Onverschilligheid (which we think roughly translates as Tender Indifference) opens with evolving percussion and sweeping synth textures that gradually pull you under. Vrijheidsdromer settles into rolling bass, organic percussion, and subtle atmospherics, while Ik Ontdekte Sacramento Ezel begins with darker intent before opening into one of the EP’s more uplifting moments. Heldere Geest (Clear Mind) takes the scenic route, unfolding from fractured rhythms into a deep, hypnotic groove, before De Speech rounds things off with an expansive finale that feels equally at home closing a club set or carrying you through the last train home.
Five expertly crafted, highly mixable tracks that will slot effortlessly into deep sets, and quite possibly convince you that buying “just one more record” was always a sensible idea.

Gated 72 // Kuman Thong // June 2026

GTD72: Kuman Thong
Welcome to the 72nd Gated podcast. This month we have a couple of upcoming huge tracks ready to be unleashed on Gated in the coming months, followed by a set from Kuman Thong
Broadcasting from Vietnam, Kuman Thong inhabit a murky corner where ambient atmospheres collide with industrial textures, abstract sound design, experimental structures and noise-soaked transmissions. Their selections drift freely between Ambient, Industrial, Noise, Abstract, Experimental and Leftfield territories, guided more by instinct and atmosphere than any concern for convention.
Expect fractured textures, ghostly machinery, decaying rhythms, half-remembered melodies and strange signals emerging from the fog. Drawing from the outer edges of electronic music, Kuman Thong craft immersive journeys that feel equally informed by industrial landscapes, dream logic and sonic experimentation.
It's music that lingers somewhere between dream states and industrial ruins, unsettling one moment, hypnotic the next. A mix built for late-night listening, dimly lit spaces and curious ears.
Beyond that, we'll leave the sounds to make their own impression.
Kuman Thong for GTD72.
Gated 71 // Gabi von Dub // May 2026

Gated Recordings Podcast 71
**Tracklist below description**
Yes, we’re back again. No, we haven’t learned anything.
This month we hand things over to Gabi Von Dub, a man who has spent the last 26 years behind the decks, which is long enough to have seen entire genres rise, fall, get rediscovered, renamed and then put back on vinyl for three times the price. Through all of that, he’s remained firmly locked into the electronic music continuum, still approaching it like there might be something new hiding in there if you just keep digging.
His sets move between full-pressure dancefloor material and more introspective, head-down moments, the kind of long-form selections that suggest both patience and a reluctance to leave the booth. From late-night propulsion to early morning reset, it’s all handled with the confidence of someone who’s been doing this longer than most USB sticks have existed.
Gabi’s been involved with labels and parties including Womblabel, Arctic Dub Records, Andrómeda, Question of Time and Elements, which reads less like a CV and more like a list of places where something slightly serious probably happened at 4am. He’s also released music under the name Augen on labels such as Moátún 7, Mighty Force, MiMi, AMPEFF and Neo Ouija, all of which points to a long-standing commitment to machines, ideas and not getting bored.
What he delivers here is a proper techno session. No shortcuts, no sudden lurches into something ironic, just a steady unfolding of groove, texture and pressure. A mix that assumes you’re paying attention, but doesn’t complain if you’re not.
Before the mix gets underway there’s the usual nod to what’s happening in the Gated orbit. Things are moving, noises are being made, and it's all coinciding with the release of an immense new EP from Paul Hierophant 'The Elder Gods' - Please head over to our bandcamp to check the whole EP, it will be available by now - https://gatedrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/the-elder-gods
Then it’s over to Gabi to take control and do what he’s been doing for the past two and a half decades. Settle in.
As ever, thanks for listening, and thanks to Gabi for reminding us that consistency, patience and a slightly unreasonable amount of time spent with electronic music can, in fact, pay off.

GATED 70 // Mihail P // March 2026
2026/03/12
Gated Recordings Podcast 70
Another month, another descent into the machinery.
This time the controls are handed to Mihail P, a producer and DJ with a taste for techno that stretches across eras without sounding like a museum tour. His productions and DJ sets lean toward deep atmospheres, melodic pressure and patient groove science, the sort of tracks that unfold gradually while you realise twenty minutes have passed and you have been staring approvingly at a hi-hat.
For this mix Mihail pulls together a wide sweep of techno history. Early 90s futurist tackle, mid 90s machine funk, deeper 2000s explorations and a few newer transmissions for good measure. There are moments of Detroit-tinged elegance, UK techno grit, deep space drift and late night warehouse hypnosis. Proper heads-down music.
Alongside his production work, Mihail runs Earthbound Recordings, his own imprint dedicated to atmospheric, thoughtful techno. The second release on the label, Earthbound002, is currently around the corner and should be landing very soon, so keep your radar tuned for that one.
Before the mix begins there is also the usual brief look at what is happening in the Gated orbit. If you want to explore the label further, you can find our releases here:
https://gatedrecordings.bandcamp.com/
You can follow Mihail and Earthbound here:

Then it is over to Mihail to do the rest.
