Freddy shared the origins of his name, updates on the neighborhood and his plans for the new toy, a ‘84 Cutty. He also shares insights on his sources of inspiration from artists from CDMX, Miami and the inaugural festival of BLKOUT walls in Detroit. This week we caught up with another figure in the art community in the Detroit area, Melannie Chard of M Contemporary. We discuss how street artists transition to the gallery walls. She also provides insights on how her career path took her to become a gallery owner. The show we are sitting amongst is an exhibition of artist from the Tead One Memorial Fund. The TEAD One Memorial Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) founded in January 2021 by the family of jordan Vaughn, aka TEAD One, to honor his memory and continue his artistic legacy.
