Today I sat down for a great chat with voice over artist, singer and author Aaron Ryan to talk about his new book, Dissonance, as well as a smattering of nerdling quandaries and quibbles. Aaron is a really fun and easily relatable guy, the conversation went by way too quickly and his new book is reflective of a man as articulate that spares no detail, like his clear inspiration J.R.R. Tolkien.

We get a ton of cool, seemingly unstoppable future weapons and space guns. But do we not get enough of? Thats right. ARMOR. Strong suits of space metals that can stop space bullets!

Is the real world better than what we could create for ourselves in the matrix we all know is coming? Let's skip over what "real" means for this episode and focus on what we really want out of our evolutionary path forward while using apparati like the virtual world of the matrix.

There is an impending doom hanging over all of us: the apocalypse. Its just a matter of what form it will take. My money is on nukes. How will we best survive it though?

Getting kind of bored or uninterested whenever a show or movie unveils that it has a multiverse? I know I am and I think I'm very much not alone.

Ever wonder what our first foray amongst the civilizations of the stars might be? Im convinced a good amount of us will try to eat and or copulate with whatever alien race first visits us openly.

You know those guys that pop up in a show or movie that makes you point at the screen and say "oh hey, its that guy!" but don't really remember who they are? Well, lets go over a few of them. From one off bit roles to reoccurring characters, the actors that fill those rolls are some of the most memorable ever!

A really big scifi trope, as big as clones or intelligent robots, body snatching has been steadily ingrained in classic scifi mythos and has been used in almost every long running scifi show I can think of! From Stargate SG-1 to Falling Skies, people being replaced by robots, puppets, aliens, clones, has become a BIG component that has been utilized to a great extent by the genre.

Who are you? Not who have you become, what you do because of someone or something else, but who are you in your metaphorical bones? Strip away all of the bits of us that are there due to external influences and why we do certain things, act in specific ways, like or dislike this that or the other, all of that is not US. Those bits are accessories. add ons, patch work. Didn't know your psyche was Frankensteins monster, did you?
