She is a veteran who works with survivors of military sexual trauma, harassment, coercion and abuse: people whose lives have been altered not only by what was done to them, but by what the system failed to do afterwards. She is the co-founder of Alberta Recoil, which provides peer support and a range of other services to help support survivors of military sexual trauma. Fraser Tolmie, Member of Parliament for Moose Jaw–Lake Centre–Lanigan and the Conservative Party's newly appointed Shadow Minister of Veterans Affairs. Fraser brings a unique blend of military, municipal, and federal leadership to the role. Before entering politics, he served as an officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he was part of Canada's military pilot training program, and he holds a degree in War Studies, Strategic Thought, and Conflict Resolution from King's College London. Prior to his election to Parliament in 2021, Fraser served as Mayor of Moose Jaw from 2016 to 2021, after previously serving on city council.
