Revisiting WWE SmackDown 2008 - The MyNetworkTV Debut Episode
2026/09/22
"If you rock like me..."
It's a new era for WWE SmackDown, and that era begins tonight! It is the debut episode of SmackDown on MyNetworkTV, and with that comes, of course, a very 2008 episode. We have new graphics, a new intro, a new theme song, and an ALL-STAR lineup. So they say.
50 of the biggest and best stars of the time are scheduled to be on this episode of SmackDown, which is being ran & booked by...The Big Show?! Big Show has taken command of the show, as Vickie Guerrero was hit with a TOMBSTONE by The Undertaker last week.
We get a lot of Champion vs Champion matches on this show, like Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella against United States Champion Shelton Benjamin, and Women's Champion Beth Phoenix takes on Diva's Champion Michelle McCool in a Lumberjack Match. Also, the RAW Tag Team Champions, Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase, team up with Manu, to face the Smackdown Tag Team Champions, Carlito & Primo Colon, with CM Punk!
Speaking of the All-Star lineup, the show opens up with a big ALL STAR 8 Man Tag Team Match! Jeff Hardy, Finlay, Batista, & Rey Mysterio take on Kane, The Brian Kendrick, JBL, & MVP.
Big Show, who is in charge, as well were all aware of, makes a big match for this show. Chavo Guerrero has to pay for not helping Vickie Guerrero last week, and Big Show puts him in a special match. Chavo faces both Mark Henry & The Great Khali in a handicap match.
In the main event, all three brands top champions face off in a triple threat match. RAW's Chris Jericho, the World Heavyweight Champion, SmackDown's Triple H, the WWE Champion, & ECW's Matt Hardy, the ECW Champion, will meet in a Champion of Champions match!
All of that, and so much more, on this edition of the DEADLOCK Podcast!

Revisiting WWF Sunday Night Heat 1999 - Triple H Becomes The Game
2026/09/16
"You guys talk about being students of The Game..."
Somehow, there are way more major moments in WWF history that went down on Heat than we ever realized! On this episode of the podcast, we're going to take a look back at this episode of WWF Sunday Night HEAT from July 25, 1999. This is the first time we're covering an episode of Heat that takes place on the same night as a PPV!
WWF Sunday Night Heat would often air one hour before a Pay-Per-View, live on television. This is taking place before the Fully Loaded 1999 PPV, which is going to be main-evented by the "End of an Era" First Blood Match between Stone Cold Steve Austin & The Undertaker. If Austin wins, Vince McMahon is gone from the WWF. If Undertaker wins, Austin can never challenge for the WWF Championship again. We hear from the fans throughout the night on who they think will win, and we also hear from Stone Cold. Briefly. Very briefly.
But, the reason we're checking out this show surprisingly is not because of any Stone Cold & Vince McMahon shenanigans. We're watching this to see the infamous interview between Jim Ross & Triple H, where Triple H proclaims himself as "The Game". He's getting prepared for a match against The Rock at Fully Loaded 1999, and he has a lot to get off his chest, and a lot of swear words to go along with it. It's time to shoot, jack.
We also get another look at the feud between both sides of D-Generation X, as Billy Gunn & Chyna have a lot to say about X-Pac & Road Dogg.
Of course, we can't forget about all the action-packed matches that come with this mini episode of RAW that they call Heat! Val Venis takes on Joey Abs of the Mean Street Posse, and Test looks for revenge. Meat just got ran through by Terri Runnels, and she demands that he have a match against The Godfather. In our main event, The Corporate Ministry's Viscera takes on former Ministry member, Christian!
All of that, and so much more, on this edition of the DEADLOCK Podcast!

Revisiting TNA iMPACT 2008 - The Formation Of The Main Event Mafia & The First iMPACT In HD
2026/09/09
"Here's to the Main Event Mafia. Born Tonight. Amen."
It's time to CROSS THE LINE...that separates the iMPACT Zone from the rest of the world. That's right, for the first time ever, TNA iMPACT is taking place outside of the iMPACT Zone, as they make their debut at the world famous Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas! Not only is this show live, but this is the first time TNA is broadcasting in HD.
Mick Foley & Jeff Jarrett have been talking about a huge announcement, and Mick Foley is going to make that announcement here tonight. In fact, they talk about this announcement for the entirety of this episode, which means it has to be huge, right? Kurt Angle has gone insane ever since his loss to Jeff Jarrett at Bound For Glory, and he also has an announcement. He says that this announcement is even bigger & better than Mick Foley's, and maybe he's right, because he announces that himself, Booker T, Kevin Nash, & Sting are now the Main Event Mafia.
Speaking of announcements, Booker T has one as well. What a great night for fans of announcements. Booker has been carrying a briefcase around for weeks, and finally, he reveals that inside of it is the TNA Legends Championship, which he is now the holder of. Christian Cage doesn't really like this (or TNA, for that matter), and he has a challenge for Booker at the next PPV, Turning Point.
We can't forget about the tag division, and we get an...interesting tag team match on this. It is the "Hardcore Tag Team Text Gauntlet". The fans can text a number, and that's going to have something to do with this match. We're not sure anyone ever truly understands what is going on with this one, but Team 3D, LAX, Beer Money, and Abyss & Matt Morgan all have to figure this one out for themselves.
There are also TWO championship matches on this show! Sheik Abdul Bashir defends his recently won X-Division Championship against Jay Lethal, and Taylor Wilde defends her newly won TNA Women's Knockout's Championship against former champion, Awesome Kong. These matches get just as much time as you'd expect, since they aren't announcements and matches don't matter as much as those!
Of course, our big main event for the evening is AJ Styles teaming up with Samoa Joe to take on Kevin Nash & Sting.
All of that, and so much more, on this edition of the DEADLOCK Podcast!

Revisiting ECW on TNN 1999 - The Dudley Boyz Leave & Raven Returns!
2026/09/01
"3D just did us all in!"
On September 3rd, 1999, TNN aired the second (2nd) episode of ECW, which is the first episode that had any brand-new matches for the program, as the first episode was a compilation of matches from previously aired pay-per-views and shows. Now, it's time to see what Paul Heyman & ECW actually have to offer!
The timing of the events that unfold on this episode are pretty crazy, and it's all jam-packed into a 45 minute show. The ECW fans already know that The Dudley Boyz are on their way out, and the Dudleyz themselves have confirmed it. They also say that they are going to not only win the ECW World Tag Team Championships for an 8th time, but they're going to take them to the WWF, and throw them down on national television.
The Dudleyz are successful in regaining the Tag Team Titles from Spike Dudley & Balls Mahoney, but they aren't going to get away with those titles that easily. Tommy Dreamer steps up to the challenge, and at first, takes on both Buh Buh (Bubba) Ray & D-Von in a handicap match for the titles. But surprisingly, Dreamer DID have a partner, he just didn't know it. Raven makes his return to ECW, after having just gotten his release from WCW, and picks up the win, and the tag team titles!
We also get an ECW World Heavyweight Title match to start off this show, as current champion Taz, who won't be around for much longer, takes on Yoshihiro Tajiri, who is accompanied by Steve Corino & Jack Victory (in a wheelchair, of course). We're also shown a music video showcasing Lance Storm, which is introduced by Rob Zombie?!

Revisiting WWF RAW Is War 1999 - The Higher Power Is Revealed
2026/08/25
"EVEN MY IMMEDIATE FAMILY BOUGHT IT!"
Somehow, this is an episode we have never covered before, but it is a moment that we have referenced many, many times over the years.
On this episode of the DEADLOCK Podcast, we're taking a look back at the infamous episode of WWF RAW Is War from June 7th, 1999, where Vince McMahon is revealed to be the GREATER POWER! Or, the higher power. It really depends on who you ask.
For 3 months, The Undertaker has been referencing this 'greater power', and last week on RAW, Stone Cold Steve Austin got his first look at who this was, and now tonight, the whole world will find out who it is. Vince McMahon unveils himself to be this Greater Power, leading to one of the most memorable promos of all time. Of course, things don't work out for Vince, as his wife, Linda McMahon, and daughter, Stephanie McMahon, both own just as much of the company as Vince does. Linda & Stephanie decide to give up their percentages of the company, and give them to Stone Cold Steve Austin, who is now the new CEO!
With it being the Attitude Era, there is obviously a ton more going on here. Stone Cold tells The Union (Ken Shamrock, Big Show & Test) that they can all face whoever they want tonight. As mention, Big Show picks The Undertaker. Ken Shamrock, who was supposed to face Jeff Jarrett in a Lion's Den Match, instead picks Vince McMahon to face in that match. Test picks Stephanie...to take on a date!
Stone Cold also puts Triple H in a "Cast" Match against The Rock, and Shane McMahon in a handicap match, against two men that he screwed out of the WWF Tag Team Championships the week before; Kane & X-Pac!
This is also the episode where The Big Show faces The Undertaker in the main event for the WWF Championship, and chokeslams The Undertaker through the ring. An absolutely insane moment to cap off an already ridiculous episode.

Revisiting WWE SmackDown 2005 - Heidenreich & The Big Chocolate Bar
2026/08/18
"I love Hershey's Chocolate so much, I wrote a little poem about it!"
In the history of this podcast, we have reviewed some of the biggest moments in wrestling history, but somehow, this one has not been reviewed by us. On this episode, we talk about one of the most important moments in this sport, and that is the time that Heidenreich came to the ring with a gigantic chocolate bar, with chocolate all over his face. The WWE didn't know what they had, and it is one of the times that the company didn't capitalize on a defining moment.
We're in Hershey, Pennsylvania for this episode of WWE SmackDown on June 16th, 2005, and the WWE Draft is in full swing. Week by week, a new person is being revealed as having switched shows, and Teddy Long is waiting for the whole episode for his pick to show up. In the end, we find out that Randy Orton has been traded to SmackDown from RAW, as he comes in to attack The Undertaker during his main event match with JBL.
Eddie Guerrero recently turned his back on Rey Mysterio, and is going out of his way to let everyone know about it. So much so, that last week, he interrupted a match between Akio & Paul London just to talk about this, leading to him attacking both men. That sets up a match for this episode, where Eddie Guerrero takes on Paul London!
Carlito's Cabana is back, and his guests this week are Booker T & Sharmell, who have been having to deal with "the perverted" Kurt Angle. Kurt has been targeting Booker's wife for weeks, but now that he's been drafted to RAW, the pair no longer have to deal with him. Carlito is here to give his thoughts on this, and that...that is cool.
Also on this show, Chris Benoit, who recently was traded to SmackDown, takes on The Cabinet's Doug Basham (not Danny Basham). Also representing The Cabinet, Orlando Jordan defends the United States Championship against Hershey's favorite son, Hardcore Holly.
Of course, we can't forget the real main event; Heidenreich is here with a huge chocolate bar, and reads a poem for the fans here in Hershey, PA. You'll never guess in a million years how any of this goes.

Revisiting WCW Monday Nitro 1995 - The Dungeon Of Doom Shave Hulk Hogan's Mustache
2026/08/12
"If 10,000 little Hulksters couldn't stop me, you sure can't!"
Hulk Hogan is known for a lot of things, with one of them being his iconic mustache. On this episode of WCW Monday Nitro from October 2nd, 1995, we see the beginning of the end of Hulkamania. At least, that's what The Taskmaster & The Dungeon of Doom thought.
The Giant has set out to destroy Hulkamania, with instructions from The Taskmaster, The Dungeon Master, and the rest of the Dungeon of Doom. The Giant has already injured Hulk Hogan's neck, and Jimmy Hart has already warned The Hulkster that he's in no condition to take on The Giant right now. But, that isn't going to stop Hogan from trying to get revenge here tonight. Little does he know, Kevin Sullivan had a plan. That plan? Dress up like an old lady, and attack both Hogan & Jimmy Hart, before shaving his mustache off his face!
We also have two HUGE main event matches on this episode, one that starts the show, and one that ends the show.
We open the show with "Macho Man" Randy Savage taking on Lex Luger, in a high stakes match. If Luger loses, he says he will quit the WCW, even though he just got here about a month ago. At the end of the show, we see a grudge match between two former best friends, as "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair takes on "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Of course, Arn isn't alone, and he has Brian Pillman waiting to take out Flair at any moment.
Also on this show, we see, for the first time ever on Nitro, a 1-on-1 encounter between Eddie Guerrero & Dean Malenko, which is almost ruined by a Disco Inferno entrance.

Revisiting TNA iMPACT 2006 - Jeff Jarrett's Lie Detector Test
2026/08/06
"The polygraph says... YOU'RE A DAMN LIAR!"
The 60 Minute Adrenaline Rush is back, as are the boys! We're back to 2006 TNA, where things are looking up for the six-sided brand. Kurt Angle has just left the WWE and is on his way in, but before we can figure out what the plans are for him, TNA looks ahead to it's next PPV, No Surrender, as well as their biggest event of the year, Bound For Glory.
Jeff Jarrett, once again, has been a controversial figure here in TNA, especially as the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Jim Cornette knows that Jarrett has been behind all of the recent shady situations surrounding him regaining or retaining the NWA World Championship. Like when Earl Hebner helped him win the title, or when Christian smashed Sting with a guitar in his last defense to help him retain. What about Larry Zbyszko's involvement, with him being on the championship committee?
Jarrett swears that all of these are coincidences, and even agrees to a polygraph test to find out if he's telling the truth. Cornette wasn't going to let that opportunity go, so here tonight, Jeff Jarrett will be connected to a lie detector test and asked about all of these incidents. Thankfully, Jeff has some help, as "Showtime" Eric Young has an Uncle from Canada that has never failed a polygraph test, and Eric is going to show Jarrett how to beat this one.
LAX, Homicide & Hernandez, recently won the NWA World Tag Team Championships from America's Most Wanted, and are here to murder The Mack Brothers to show just how dominant they are, as they prepare for the first ever Ultimate X Tag Team Championship Match at No Surrender against AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels.
Speaking of America's Most Wanted, Chris Harris & James Storm have been having communication problems as of late, which lead to them losing the tag titles. Tonight, they'll team up with Kazarian & Maverick Matt Bentley to take on The James Gang (BG & Kip James), Norman Smiley, & Shark Boy.
In the main event, we get a special challenge match against two guys that have been recently at odds, as Christian Cage steps into the ring with Ron "The Truth" Killings. Also, we hear from Shane Douglas & his "Newly Franchised" Naturals, Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas. Plus, The X-Division loves Jackass Number Two!

Revisiting WWF Heat 1999 - The Rock's Infamous Promo On Billy Gunn
2026/07/28
"But my name's Billy..."
After having such a good time reviewing WWF Heat recently, we decided to jump back in for one of the more infamous moments in the history of this show. A moment that we didn't even realize took place on Heat! On July 11th, 1999, The Rock showed up on Heat to deliver a promo that would change the course of Billy Gunn's career, and is still talked about to this day.
"Mr. Ass" Billy Gunn has been attacking The Rock over the past few weeks, and The Rock finally has something to say about it here on The Rock's Show, Heat!
Of course, there is a lot more going on somehow. We're on the road to WWF Fully Loaded, and The Big Show has drawn some attention from a lot of the boys in the back. More specifically, The Undertaker & his brother Kane have seemingly re-united to take down the big man, and he's here tonight to put a stop to it. He even debuts a new catchphrase!
Also on this show, The Brood are looking to get back to their winning ways as Edge, Gangrel & Christian take on three members of The Corporate Ministry in Big Bossman, Viscera, & Mideon. The Brood cut another fantastic promo, but at the end of this one, The Brood seemingly is no more, as Gangrel turns his back on Edge.
We can't forget about all the HUGE matches on this show, as well. The Hardy Boyz defend their WWF Tag Team Championships against Droz & Prince Albert. Billy Gunn (Mr. Ass) goes one-on-one with Test, while Shane McMahon & The Mean Street Posse watch from commentary. No one wants to wrestle Al Snow, so he comes up with his own match against WWF Super Astros best in Max Mini, Mini Nova, Battalion, & El Torito. Our big main event is a NO HOLDS BARRED match with Bradshaw, who has a concussion, and Kane!

Revisiting WWE RAW 2005 - The Night Before The Release Of The Xbox 360
2026/07/22
"Jump in!"
We have made it to Episode 360 of the DEADLOCK Podcast, and we thought we'd combine our love for wrestling with our love for the Xbox 360 for this review. We decided to go back to the night before the release of the Xbox 360, and see what the WWE was doing with their flagship show, Monday Night RAW, at the time. The Xbox 360 released on November 22, 2005, and this episode of RAW is from November 21, 2005!
We're on the road to Survivor Series 2005, and this is RAW's go-home show before the "big" PPV. RAW & Smackdown are fighting for brand supremacy, as they always loved to have, and even across the pond they'll still make sure to go out of their way to attack each-other before the Survivor Series event. This episode of RAW takes place in England, and all of the members from the Team RAW vs Team Smackdown match scheduled for Survivor Series are here to battle it out.
Team RAW's Shawn Michaels, Kane, Big Show, Chris Masters & Carlito go to war with Team Smackdown's Batista, JBL, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton & Bobby Lashley at the beginning of this show, in the parking lot no less! This leaves Batista laying on the windshield of a car, seemingly costing Team Smackdown their World Champion.
Triple H & Ric Flair are set to do battle at Survivor Series in a Last Man Standing match, and Triple H swears that he will end Flair's career this Sunday. To prove what he's capable of, he shows what he can do against one of his greatest foes; Val Venis. The crowd here in England are so excited!
Kurt Angle is preparing for his WWE Championship match against John Cena at the PPV, but luckily for him, Eric Bischoff has granted him his very own referee for every match he has now; Daivari! Daivari is even his referee here tonight in Kurt's rematch against former team mate, Shelton Benjamin. Cena, of course, does his best to embarrass Kurt Angle by attempting to interview the roster, The Boogeyman, & fans to see if they think Kurt Angle sucks, in a segment that goes on for 15 years.
Also on this show, Mickie James takes on Candice Michelle, which leads to Trish Stratus being KIDNAPPED, and Tajiri takes on Rob Conway...kinda. In our main event, Team RAW's Shawn Michaels takes on Team SmackDown's JBL in a Lumberjack match, with all of the participants from the Survivor Series match playing the role of Lumberjacks.

Revisiting WCW Nitro 1996 - The Nitro After Hollywood Hogan Won The WCW Title At Hog Wild
2026/07/14
"We got any birthday cake left?"
We are two (2) days removed from one of WCW's most unique PPV events, Hog Wild 1996, and history was changed forever. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan defeated The Giant to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, before spray-painting the title with 'NWO', one of the most iconic looks for a championship ever.
This episode of WCW Monday Nitro took place on August 12th, 1996, and we're looking at the fall-out from that very PPV. The WCW management & wrestlers are all trying to figure out how to combat the trio of Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash & Scott Hall, while being aware of the threat of more members joining, as is teased by the members of the New World Order throughout the show.
Sting & Lex Luger, who had a controversial loss to The Outsiders at Hog Wild due to potential shenanigans involving referee Nick Patrick, call out Kevin Nash & Scott Hall for a match on this show.
Speaking of controversial losses, The Steiner Brothers are here for a return match against Harlem Heat, who beat them at Hog Wild in a Tag Team Championship match after some interference from bother Sister Sherri & Colonel Parker. Also in a return match, Rey Mysterio Jr defends the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against The Ultimate Dragon (not Ultimo!).
We also get a huge WCW United States Championship match, as Ric Flair takes on "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

Revisiting WWF Heat 1999 - The Night Before The Highest Rated RAW Ever
2026/07/08
"Bossman...take the keys."
We're in uncharted territory here on this episode of the DEADLOCK Podcast, as for only the 2nd time ever, we take a look back at an episode of WWF Sunday Night HEAT! This episode of Heat is from May 9th, 1999, which just so happens to be the night before the highest rated episode of WWF RAW is WAR ever. Surely, all of the people that tuned in for RAW were just so fired up from this episode of Heat, so what could have possibly been going on?!
Tonight, we're going to hear from The Rock! That's all you need in 1999. The Rock & Stone Cold were both thrown off the stage by the Corporate Ministry's Undertaker & Triple H on the last episode of RAW, which lead to The Rock breaking his arm. He'll be here tonight to address that, after we get through all of the real stars of the WWF making appearances first.
D-Generation X have been going through it, as not only has Triple H & Chyna left the group to join the Corporation, now the Corporate Ministry, but Billy Gunn has also turned his back on long-time partners X-Pac & Road Dogg. Kane & X-Pac are the current WWF Tag Team Champions, and Kane is going to do anything he can to get his hands on Billy Gunn. All night.
The Union is here to get revenge on the Corporate Ministry. Ken Shamrock, Big Show, Test & Mankind do what they can to stop the likes of Big Bossman, Viscera, and Mideon from attacking any more people. Big Show even has a match tonight against Mideon!
We also can't forget whatever is going on with Al Snow. Hardcore Holly was pinned by Al Snow, who was holding Head, to win the WWF Hardcore Championship. Al is convinced that Head is the champion, so Hardcore Holly has gone to the "Hardcore Championship Committee" to sanction a match between Al Snow & Head on this show. Yes, that is a match.
Also on the card, Triple H takes on The Road Dogg, Val Venis faces Billy Gunn, and in the main event, Meat with PMS (Terri Runnels & Jacqueline) battles rival Droz with Prince Albert!
All of that, and so much more, on this edition of the DEADLOCK Podcast!

Revisiting WWE SmackDown 2007 - The Great Khali Wins The World Title
2026/06/30
"Whether you like it or not, ladies & gentlemen, the monster's reign has begun!"
When a top guy gets injured, you have to call an audible, and on this episode of WWE SmackDown from July 20, 2007, WWE had a big decision to make. The current World Heavyweight Champion, Edge, has gone down with an injury, and we are only 2 days away from the Great American Bash 2007 PPV. What do they do?! Well, the only thing they can do; have a 20 man over the top rope BATTLE ROYAL to decide the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Of course, all the stars are here in this match, like Jimmy Wang Yang, The Major Brothers, Deuce & Domino, and Eugene. There's also some undercard guys like Batista, MVP, Kane, & Finlay. But, the biggest & best of them all, and the man that walks away with the championship, is The Great Khali!
Even though this is a major part of the show, there are some other things to look forward to! Kane & Batista are in this battle royal, but that's not the only thing they do tonight, as they have a main event 1 on 1 match against each other to find out who will face The Great Khali at The Great American Bash for the World Championship. Victoria faces off against Torrie Wilson in a rivalry that's been brewing on SmackDown for a few weeks, and Matt Hardy takes on Kenny Dykstra.
We're also given a look at some new talent, or re-debuting talent, coming to smackdown, like Chuck Palumbo & his motorcycles, as well as Jesse & Festus!

Revisiting WWE ECW 2006 - The 2nd Episode, John Cena Confronts The ECW Roster
2026/06/23
"Let The Bodies Hit The Floor!"
Just over 20 years ago, on June 20th, 2006, WWE brought us the 2nd episode of ECW on Sci-Fi. The first episode of WWE ECW has taken place to much criticism, but also a fantastic rating of over 3 million viewers. With the debut of talent like Kurt Angle & Big Show, as well as characters like The ECW Zombie, no one really knew what to expect from this show. Seemingly, that 'no one' included the people in charge. By the way, you can check out our review of the 1st episode of WWE ECW right here!
But, this is the next week, and it's time to see what groundwork will be laid for the future of this 'brand'. The night before on WWE Monday Night RAW, ECW showed up to interrupt the show. Sabu made his presence known by not only attacking John Cena, but a chair thrown at Cena's head bust him wide open. This, of course, is to set up the match between John Cena & Sabu at this Sunday's "Vengeance" PPV.
Our main event for the evening also involves two superstars from RAW; Edge & Randy Orton. They're here to take on the team of Kurt Angle & Rob Van Dam. RVD had also shown up on RAW the night before to attack his opponent for Vengeance, Edge! Kurt Angle & Randy Orton are continuing their rivalry stemming from the last ECW One Night Stand, where Angle beat Randy Orton.
Also, Macho Libre is here to tell the ECW fans about how Macho Man did promos, which The Sandman takes umbrage to. Kelly is here to give us another Exposé, Sabu takes on The FBI's Tony Mamaluke w/ Trinity, Tommy Dreamer stands up to The Big Show, and John Cena is here to confront the ECW 'Extremist Rebels'.

Revisiting WWE RAW 2005 - Matt Hardy Invades, Attacks Edge & Shouts Out Ring Of Honor
2026/06/16
"RING OF HONOR!! R-O-H!!"
On this episode of the DEADLOCK Podcast, we're headed back to July 11th, 2005 to re-visit this much talked about moment in wrestling history. The Edge/Matt Hardy/Lita drama is still unfolding at this time, with Matt Hardy having been released due to it all. But, on this episode of RAW, Matt Hardy is back for revenge! Matt shows up, attacks Edge during his match with Kane, and shouts "COME SEE ME AT RING OF HONOR! ROH!" into the microphone.
John Cena recently joined the brand, and is already at odds with current RAW General Manager, Eric Bischoff, who looks to make an example out of Cena via Chris Jericho. This isn't the only person Jericho has a problem with, though, as Jericho interrupts Carlito's "Carlito's Cabana" talk show. They both argue over who should interview Shawn Michaels about why he attacked Hulk Hogan, but ultimately, the original wrestling-talk-show-host "Rowdy" Roddy Piper shows up to steal the spotlight, and will have HBK on his show later tonight!
Speaking of Carlito, he will be defending his Intercontinental Championship against Shelton Benjamin, the man he cheated out of the championship at WWE Vengeance just a couple weeks ago. Kurt Angle hosts his Gold Medal Invitational, where "Famous Teacher Who Got Fired" Matt Striker accepts the challenge. Also, Chris Masters looks to get revenge on Tajiri for spitting green mist in his eyes, and we get our first elimination segment for the 2005 RAW Diva Search!
