How to get spiritual alignment
2026/10/26
Spiritual Alignment: How to Surround Yourself With the Right People and Follow God's Direction It is easy to feel spiritually off course without knowing exactly why. Sometimes the doors keep closing, the relationships feel draining, and the sense of purpose fades. The answer often comes down to one word: alignment. Spiritual alignment is not about a checklist or perfect church attendance. It is about moving in the direction God is leading you, with the right people beside you. Alignment in relationships does not mean everyone around you looks the same or comes from the same background. In Acts 16, the apostle Paul connects with a young man named Timothy, someone with a very different upbringing. Timothy's mother was a believer, but his Father was not. Paul came from a highly educated Jewish background. Timothy did not. Yet Paul saw that Timothy was moving in the same spiritual direction, and that was what mattered. Alignment means moving together toward God, not having identical stories. What Does Spiritual Alignment Actually Mean?
3 Rules of Engagement in Relationships
2026/10/18
How Disagreements Can Actually Strengthen Your Relationships Conflict is uncomfortable. Most of us avoid it, minimize it, or let it simmer until it boils over. But what if disagreements were not the enemy of healthy relationships? What if they were actually a sign that something good is being built? The book of Acts is more than a history of the early church. It is a 30-year record of God building His kingdom through real people in real relationships, complete with tension, failure, and restoration. Each chapter reveals a principle about how God works through community. Previous principles from this series include belonging, helpfulness, listening, trust, humility, and encouragement. This message focuses on something most people would rather skip: disagreements. Here is the core idea: Disagreements are the visible symptom of an invisible solution. When conflict surfaces, it does not just reveal a problem. It points toward a solution that God is already working toward. What Does the Bible Say About Conflict in Relationships?
Assumptions Assault on Relationships
2026/10/10
Pride has a way of narrowing our vision until we can only see our own point of view, and assumptions quietly destroy our relationships from the inside. In Acts chapter 10, God brings together two very different men, Peter and Cornelius, to challenge the assumptions each of them carried. Through a striking vision, God shows Peter that the way he had been categorizing people was wrong. Humility is not just a feeling but a practice, and closing the distance between ourselves and others is where it becomes visible. When Peter finally crosses over to meet Cornelius, his perspective is transformed. The gospel has no borders, and the church exists for those who are not yet in it.
How to trust and forgive
2026/10/02
Trust is one of the most essential ingredients in any relationship, and one of the hardest things to rebuild once it is broken. The early church faced this challenge head-on as Saul, once the most feared enemy of believers, was transformed by an encounter with Jesus and slowly earned back the trust of those he had harmed. One of the most freeing truths in this journey is that forgiveness and trust are not the same thing. Forgiveness is a command we are called to obey immediately, while trust is something that must be earned over time through change, commitment, and consistency. Just as Barnabas chose to advocate for a changed Saul, restored trust produces peace and multiplication in our communities. God, who transformed the most untrustworthy person in the early church into one of the greatest voices for the gospel, can do something remarkable with your situation too.
3 Steps to Effective Listening
2026/09/25
There is a real difference between hearing and listening, and that difference matters deeply in our relationships and in our walk with God. The story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5 is a sobering reminder of what happens when we hear what we want instead of truly listening to God. They gave a partial gift while presenting it as a full one, not because of the amount, but because they were performing for an audience rather than living honestly before Him. Many of us fall into the same pattern when we react out of insecurity, pride, or pain instead of responding from a place of genuine faith. True listening is active. It requires pausing before we react, seeking to understand rather than to be understood, and getting quiet enough before God to hear what He is actually saying. The kind of faith that endures is not conditional on circumstances. It trusts God even when the outcome is uncertain.
Am I enabling and not helping?
2026/09/18
What does it actually mean to help someone? Not just show up or throw money at a problem, but truly help in a way that changes things. Acts chapter 3 gives us one of the most powerful and practical pictures in all of Scripture of what genuine, lasting help looks like. Peter and John were on their way to pray when they were interrupted by a man who had been lame from birth. He was asking for money. What he received was something far greater. This moment teaches us that our interruptions are often introductions, unexpected opportunities where God is positioning us to step into someone else's story. This message walks through a biblical framework for helping people well, drawn from Acts 3, Acts 4, and 1 Thessalonians 5:14. You will learn how to tell the difference between helping someone and enabling them, how to identify whether someone needs a warning, encouragement, or practical support, and why the most lasting help always points people toward Jesus. We also explore why real community matters so much when it comes to helping others. Acts 4 describes the early church as a group of people so genuinely connected that they shared everything and met needs as they arose. That kind of help does not happen in rows. It happens in circles, in small groups and real relationships where people can be honest and let others in. Whether you are someone who wants to help others more effectively, someone who is struggling to receive help, or someone trying to understand the difference between biblical generosity and unhealthy enabling, this message has something for you. Key topics covered include: how to help others biblically, the difference between helping and enabling, Acts 3 Peter and John lame man healing, 1 Thessalonians 5:14 framework for helping, the importance of Christian community and small groups, Matthew 25 and serving others as worship, how to point people to Jesus when helping them, and practical steps for becoming more helpful in everyday life. Every believer carries something the world desperately needs. You may be underestimating what you already have to offer. Step into that this week.

Why did God reject Cain?
2026/08/14
What does a short-lived, largely unknown biblical figure have to teach us about faith, generosity, and serving God with everything we have? More than you might expect. Abel appears only briefly in Genesis chapter 4, yet he is listed in Hebrews 11 alongside the greatest heroes of the faith. His story raises a question that is deeply relevant for every believer today: are you giving God your first and your best, or are you giving Him what is left over? The contrast between Abel and his brother Cain is one of the most instructive moments in all of Scripture. Both brothers brought an offering to God. But Abel brought the firstborn of his flock, the very first and the very best, as an act of trust and worship. Cain brought some of his crops, a sufficient offering but not a sacrificial one. God accepted Abel's gift and rejected Cain's, not out of harshness, but because the heart behind each offering told a very different story.

Four Things Hinder Prayer
2026/07/31
James 5:17 “Elijah was a human being, even aswe are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on theland for three and a half years.” Prayer typically changes __us____ first and then God moves in the situation.   Fasting is part of the Christian prayer life. (Matt 4:2, Matt 6:16, Acts13:2) What Hinders Prayer?
Real meaning of Lukewarm
2026/07/24
What does it really mean to be lukewarm in your faith? Most people have heard the term lukewarm Christian, but the meaning goes much deeper than spiritual passion or church attendance. In Revelation 3, Jesus speaks directly to the church of Laodicea and delivers one of the most sobering warnings in all of Scripture. He tells them He is about to spit them out of His mouth, not because they are imperfect, but because they are inauthentic. Laodicea was one of the wealthiest cities in the ancient world. It had a powerful banking industry, a famous textile trade, and a world-renowned school of medicine known for its healing eye salve. But the city had a water problem. Nearby Hierapolis had healing hot springs, and Colossae had cool, refreshing mountain water. Laodicea had neither. Their water arrived lukewarm and useless. Jesus used this as a picture of their spiritual condition. He did not want them to be spiritually cold. He wanted them to be either healing or refreshing to the people around them. Using the three major industries of Laodicea, Jesus identifies three patterns that still show up in the church today. The banking industry points to the tendency to create emotional and spiritual distance rather than dealing with hard things. The textile industry points to the habit of covering up sin and struggle rather than bringing it to God for real cleansing. The medical industry points to the danger of spiritual blindness, treating outward appearances while ignoring what God is trying to reveal on the inside. Wealth had become a mask for the Laodiceans. Their self-sufficiency had crept from their finances into their faith. They said they had everything they needed, but Jesus said they were wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. This is the danger of cultural Christianity. Behavior can change enough to look different on the outside without any real transformation happening on the inside. But even after this hard diagnosis, Jesus does not walk away. He stands at the door and knocks. He is not standing there with arms crossed. He is pleading. And the sobering reality is that He is saying this to people who are already inside the church, already going through the motions, already singing the songs. He is on the outside, asking to be let in. This message is for anyone wrestling with questions like: Am I really following Jesus or just going through the motions? What does authentic faith look like? How do I know if my Christianity is real? What does the Bible say about lukewarm faith? How do I grow closer to God? Keywords: lukewarm faith, lukewarm Christian, church of Laodicea, Revelation 3, authentic Christianity, what does lukewarm mean in the Bible, spiritual growth, real faith vs religion, how to grow closer to God, cultural Christianity, prodigal son, Jesus knocking at the door, spiritual blindness, genuine faith, Christian living, Bible study, book of Revelation, seven churches of Revelation
Don't let your feelings be louder than your future
2026/07/17
The church of Philadelphia in Revelation 3 was not rebuked for moral failure. They were a people worn down by repeated loss, rejection, and disappointment. Jesus met them not with correction, but with truth. He reminded them that He holds the key of David, that He had already opened a door no one could shut, and that their crown was already theirs to hold. Using the story of Joseph, we see a practical path forward: identify what happened, decide how you will respond, and trust that God can work all of it for good. Your feelings about the past are real, but they are not the final word. Do not let your feelings be louder than your future.
Advancing on the Throne of Satan

We often think of worship as only something that happens onSunday mornings before the sermon. But what if worship is actually one of themost powerful weapons you have? The church in Pergamum faced a culture full ofcompeting gods, divided loyalties, and spiritual compromise. The message Jesussent them is just as relevant today.
