This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Indiana to discuss the case of Leviticus “Levi” Kuchta was a 10-year-old boy from Merrillville, who tragically died on October 12, 2020, after suffering months of extreme isolation, torture, and severe physical abuse at the hands of his sister and her wife. Levi came into the care of his older sister, April Kuchta Wright, and her wife, Rachel Wright, in August 2020. He had previously been under the guardianship of his grandmother after his mother was incarcerated on drug charges. On October 12, 2020, emergency responders were called to the couple's home on Fillmore Court, where they found Levi deceased in his bed. An autopsy revealed that he died instantly from blunt force trauma that caused a fatal dislocation of his cervical vertebrae spine. Investigators discovered that the boy was riddled with severe injuries from head to toe in various stages of healing and infection, including puncture wounds on his face that the couple had tried to conceal using caked-on makeup. Previous injuries, including a dislocated jaw and fractured spine, had rendered him entirely unable to walk or talk before his death. The women initially attempted to cover up the crime by claiming Levi had been injured in dirt bike accidents, but police quickly debunked the story after discovering the bike was covered in thick dust and spider webs. This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Washington state to discuss the tragic case of Chayson Troy Colley. Chayson was born in Aberdeen, Washington, and was remembered by his family as a joyful, active toddler. According to his family, he loved playing outside, running through puddles, chasing and being chased, and dancing to the "Hot Diggity Dog Song" from the Mickey Mouse Club. He also enjoyed spending time on his grandfather's farm, playing with toys, and imitating adults with electronic devices like cell phones and tablets. Chayson passed away in Tacoma, Washington, on March 30, 2013. An autopsy later revealed that he had suffered fatal blows to his head and torso, along with extensive internal and external injuries. Following an investigation, Jake Musga pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and first-degree rape of a child in connection with Chayson's death. Investigators noted that the child's mother, Laura Elizabeth Colley, and Jake, had failed to seek necessary medical attention for the extensive bruising Chayson suffered prior to his death.

This week, Drewby and Yergy head back to Tucson, Arizon, to discuss the case of Wyllow Brewer, a a six-month-old infant who tragically died on February 19, 2017, as a result of severe, chronic child abuse and medical neglect. Following a Pima County Sheriff's Department investigation, four people living in the home were originally linked to or charged in connection with her death: Kylie Marie Brewer (Wyllow's mother), Jon-Paul Bogdanowich Jr. (Brewer's boyfriend), Kaylie Ryan Gossett (The couple's friend and babysitter), and Brianna Raidy (another friend). The primary three suspects - Kylie, Paul, and Kaylie - were initially indicted on charges of first-degree murder and felony child abuse. Charges against Brianna were eventually dropped. Authorities noted that the individuals provided conflicting versions of how the baby sustained her injuries, and evidence of heavy methamphetamine use was recovered from the residence. This week, Drewby and Yergy head down to Texas to discuss the case of Laura Christine Boren, and her two children, Andre lee Boren and Leyha Marie Hughes. The young family were murdered in their Sherman home on March 27th, 2004, by Laura's ex-husband (and Andre's father), Andre Lee Thomas. Driven by intense religious delusions and hallucinations that had plagued him since childhood, Andre Sr. believed his family members were demons. Following instructions he claimed were from God, he cut open their chests and removed the hearts of the two children. He then walked home and stabbed himself in the chest three times in a failed attempt to "remove himself" from the crime scene. Andre Sr. had experienced lifelong mental illness, first making an attempt on his own life at age 10. Following his arrest, his psychosis led to shocking acts of self-mutilation. While held in a local jail cell, he gouged out his right eye. Three years after being sentenced to death, while confined at a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility, Andre Sr. gouged out his left eye and ate it. He later explained he did this to prevent the government from reading his thoughts. He is completely blind and remains heavily medicated in a psychiatric unit reserved for the state's most mentally ill prisoners. This week, Drewby and Yergy travel to Morton, Illinois, to discuss the case of Katherine "Katie" McCarron, a 3-year-old autistic girl who was killed by her mother, Karen Frank-McCarron, a former pathologist, who suffocated the child with a plastic garbage bag. According to trial records and confessions, Karen drove Katie to her parents' empty home and held a plastic bag over the toddler's head for about two minutes until she stopped struggling. In a disturbing series of actions immediately following the murder, she drove Katie's body back to their own home, placed her in bed to make it look like she was napping, went to a local store to buy herself ice cream, and then returned to her parents' house to remove the garbage bag to conceal evidence. In a videotaped confession, Karen stated she wanted to "fix" her daughter, saying, "Maybe I could fix her this way, and in heaven she would be complete." She expressed immense guilt and frustration over her daughter's autism, mistakenly blaming herself for allowing Katie to receive childhood vaccines, and told investigators she "just wanted autism out of my life." This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Houston, texas, to discuss the case of Savayah Mason, a 9-month-old infant who was murdered by her father, Luis Luna. On August 24, 2020, Harris County sheriff's deputies responded to an unresponsive infant at an apartment complex in the Alief area of Houston. Savayah was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy performed by the medical examiner revealed that the baby had been bound, sexually assaulted, and killed via suffocation/asphyxiation. Following an interview with homicide investigators, her father, Luis, was arrested and charged with capital murder. This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Burnt House Farm in Tabley, near Knutsford, Cheshire, UK, to discuss the case of Brian Waters. Brian was a 44-year-old Cannabis farmer who was tortured for four hours and systematically beaten to death in front of his adult children over a £20,000 drugs debt. Brian operated an illicit cannabis cultivation site at Burnt House Farm. A dispute over money arose between him and a drug dealer named John Wilson. On the day of the murder, a gang ambushed the farm. Brian and his farm assistant, Suleman Razak, were tied up, beaten with a metal bar, assaulted with staple guns, and suspended upside down from roof rafters into barrels of liquid. Both were burned with phosphoric acid. Brian suffered 123 external injuries and died at the scene. Suleman survived the ordeal. The attackers tracked down Brian's 25-year-old son, Gavin, and 21-year-old daughter, Natalie, forcing them to watch the torture. The gang also abducted his wife, Julie, from their home and drove her to the farm. This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Decatur, Georgia, to discuss the case of 7-year-old Alivia Hobbs-Jordan, who tragically died after being deliberately abandoned by her biological mother, Alondra Hobbs. In June 2023, DeKalb County police responded to a 911 call from an anonymous neighbor reporting a foul odor and a deceased child inside a vacant unit at the Hidden Valley Apartments. Upon investigating, officers discovered Alivia's mummified remains strapped into a stroller hidden inside a bedroom closet. Investigators determined that Alivia, who had autism and cerebral palsy, had been buckled into the stroller and shut in the closet months earlier, between February and June 2023. Her mother had completely moved out of the apartment, leaving Alivia behind with no intention of returning. To cover up the crime, the mother told family members and neighbors that Alivia was staying with her father's side of the family. Autopsy reports indicated that Alivia died from severe starvation and dehydration. Alondra Hobbs was arrested in late June 2023. During police interrogations, she admitted to abandoning the child, claiming that her life had become "too much." Presiding Judge LaTisha Dear Jackson sentenced Hobbs to life in prison without the possibility of parole. This week, Drew and Yergy head back to Northeast Ohio to discuss the case of Aliana DeFreeze, a 14-year-old schoolgirl with a developmental disability who was tragically kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and brutally murdered in Cleveland, on January 26, 2017. On her way to E Prep & Village Prep Woodland Hills, Alianna boarded an RTA bus but was followed and abducted near East 93rd Street and Kinsman Road. Her body was discovered three days later inside an abandoned home on Fuller Avenue. Christopher Whitaker, a registered sex offender with an extensive criminal history, was linked to the scene via DNA evidence. In March of 2018, he was convicted of aggravated murder, kidnapping, rape, and gross abuse of a corpse. He was sentenced to death. In 2021, Christopher's legal team appealed to change the sentence to life without parole. Alianna’s father, Damon DeFreeze, publicly agreed with a life sentence, stating that death was "too quick" and that he deserved to "sit there and think about what he did." This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Springfield, Missouri, to discuss the case of Hailey Marie Owens, a 10-year-old girl was abducted, sexually assaulted, and killed by Craig Wood. Her case sparked national outrage, led to significant changes in local law enforcement response times, and inspired legislative reform regarding child safety alerts. Hailey Owens was walking home from a friend's house in broad daylight in northwest Springfield when 45-year-old Craig Wood pulled up next to her in a Ford Ranger. After pretending to ask for directions, he lunged from the vehicle, grabbed her, and threw her into the truck. Crucial eyewitnesses pursued the truck and successfully noted its license plate number, providing it directly to the police. Using the license plate details, law enforcement traced the truck to Craig's home. Upon entering the house hours later, investigators discovered that Hailey had already been raped and shot in the back of the head. It should be noted that Craig Wood was a local school district employee and youth sports coach. In 2017, a jury found Craig guilty of first-degree murder. However, because the jury deadlock occurred during the penalty phase, the final sentencing fell to the judge. In 2018, Greene County Judge Thomas Mountjoy officially sentenced him to death. Craig's legal team filed multiple appeals over the years, arguing ineffective counsel and challenging statements made during the penalty phase. The Missouri Supreme Court unanimously denied his final appeal on January 13, 2026, officially affirming his death sentence. He remains on death row at the Potosi Correctional Center. This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Tampa, Florida, to discuss the case of 7-year-old Amanda Victoria Brown, who tragically disappeared from her home on September 11th, 1998. Her high-profile case led to the ultimate conviction of a repeat offender, although her physical remains have never been found. On the morning of September 11th, Amanda's mother, Kathy Hartman, woke up at around 6:00 AM to discover that her daughter was missing from her bedroom. Also missing from the trailer was Willie Seth Crain Jr, a 52-year-old local crab fisherman whom Kathy had met at a bar a couple of days prior and allowed into her home. Willie was a convicted child molester who had previously served time in prison. Although Amanda’s body was never recovered, investigators discovered traces of Amanda's blood on Willie’s boxer shorts, a tissue, and a toilet seat inside his trailer. He was arrested, tried, and found guilty of first-degree murder and kidnapping in 1999. He was sentenced to death. Her killer, Christopher May, a 50-year-old former butcher, was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 28 years. On April 21st, 2015, Tracey met Christopher at the Skinny Dog pub. The two left the pub together at closing time and walked toward Christopher's flat in the Graig area. This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Smyrna, Delaware, to discuss the case of 3-year-old Emma Grace Cole, who became the victim of a tragic and highly publicized case of fatal child abuse and torture. On September 13, 2019, Emma's charred skeletal remains were found in the bushes near the Smyrna-Clayton Little Lass Softball fields. Because her body was severely burned and left without identification, investigators spent more than a year working to identify her. She was referred to by law enforcement as "Baby Elle" until a credible tip led to her identification in October 2020. Court documents later revealed that Emma endured an agonizing final year of life. Her mother, Kristie Haas, and stepfather, Brandon Haas, subjected Emma and her half-siblings to starvation, extreme physical discipline, and forced exercise. Emma was heavily singled out for the abuse. After Emma became unresponsive following a severe beating, her mother attempted to revive her with a cold shower rather than calling 911. After Emma died, Kristie burned her body and dumped her remains. The couple then lied to family members, claiming Emma was away at a mental health facility, and fled Delaware for Indiana and Pennsylvania, where they were eventually arrested. This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Arkansas to discuss the case of Jersey bridgeman, a 6-year-old girl , who became the subject of widespread national attention following her tragic abduction and murder on November 20, 2012. Before her murder, Jersey had already suffered severe, publicized abuse at the hands of her family. In 2011, her father, David Bridgeman, and stepmother, Jana Bridgeman, were arrested for chaining her to a dresser as a form of punishment. Both pleaded guilty in June 2012 to false imprisonment and permitting the abuse of a minor. Her stepmother was sentenced to 12 years in prison, and her father was sentenced to 18 years. Following their arrest, Jersey was placed back into the custody of her biological mother. On November 20, 2012, just days after her sixth birthday, Jersey was reported missing from her home. Later that day, law enforcement discovered her body hidden in a bedroom closet inside a vacant house located between her home and a neighbor's house. An autopsy confirmed that her cause of death was asphyxia due to strangulation, and forensic evidence indicated she had been sexually assaulted. Police arrested Zachary Holly, a 28-year-old next-door neighbor and trusted family friend who had been babysitting Jersey and her younger sibling the night she disappeared. Zachary had even pretended to help detectives search for Jersey before his arrest.
