What makes a good man or woman in 2024?
2024/06/14
Welcome back to another engaging episode of OTR! In this episode, we dive into two hot-button topics - the evolving definitions of a good man and a good woman in 2024. Our conversation kicks off with a unique twist: instead of starting with what makes a good man, we explore what defines a good woman in today's rapidly changing world, sharing insights from four thoughtful brothers. We delve into the ongoing "gender wars" and the societal checklists that attempt to define masculinity and femininity. From the influence of media and politics to the pressures of social media, we discuss how these forces shape our perceptions of gender roles. We also tackle the controversial topic of toxic masculinity and the impact of so-called "manfluencers" like Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan. Throughout the episode, we emphasize the importance of authenticity, self-respect, and mutual support in relationships. Whether you're navigating the complexities of modern dating or seeking to understand what truly makes a good partner, this episode offers valuable perspectives. Join us for a candid, thought-provoking discussion on the qualities that make a good man and woman in 2024.

Why are Black celebrities expected to lead
2020/07/01
Black celebrities carry a burden to be outspoken against all forms of oppression. Fair or unfair, that is the expectation of our culture. When they don't do what we think they should backlash ensues and critics get louder. The OTR crew tackles this topic as some Black celebrities have been criticized for not doing enough.
Racism and Police Brutality in 2020
2020/06/15
In 2020 Black people are still subject to racism in ways many thought ended with the Civil Rights Movement during the 60s. Video of police killing unarmed Black people routinely hit the internet, which often leads to protests and shaming of law enforcement. The systematic oppression that Black people still live under weighs heavy on us mentally, spiritually, and physically. The killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and most recently Rayshard Brooks are reminders that America is not close to solving racism. Today the men from Off The Record share our thoughts and feelings on these tragedies. We will close out the show discussing "canceled" celebrities and explain why some Black entertainers get in the way of our fight for equality.
