Can you see the glorious person and work of Christ in the Gospel put to you? As the God who sees, He confronts the pridefully blind, opens the eyes of the deceived, and lifts your heavy burden. How does Jesus lift your burden? By revealing Himself to you as the Christ, your true Master and Teacher, who taught with divine authority in His ministry on earth. He is the One who sits on the seat, on the throne of highest honor, not with vain flaunting, but reigning in righteousness as the eternal King at the right hand of your Father in Heaven. In love, Jesus didn't continue the deception of the Pharisees, but accomplished your redemption, removed the scales from your eyes, placed His yoke which is light and easy upon you, and here calls you to follow His example and obey His commands as humble servants.

What is the Lord's supper? How hath Christ appointed bread and wine to be given and received in the sacrament of the Lord's supper? How do they that worthily communicate in the Lord's supper feed upon the body and blood of Christ therein?

Better understanding and rooting out resentment helps you move towards recovery. Though the desire of the road to recovery from resentment is that it would be quick and easy, it's often longer and harder than one might expect. Do you have ears to hear the call to come bless your Lord for His wonderful works of grace and mercy to you in Christ even more in praise and prayer tonight? May you be more mindful to do so as you remember and reflect on His goodness in your salvation. May you do so even as you look back on trials and suffering, recognizing and proclaiming God's work and good purposes in and through them. Then may you be ever more faithful to keep your vows, and obedient in worship and service to Christ. He is the God who blesses you and works by His Spirit in you to testify of His grace and mercy to others.

As you know and love Jesus this morning, may you be moved all the more to exalt Him and worship at His footstool. He is holy!

Unto whom is baptism to be administered? How is baptism to be improved by us?

There are many battles in the Christian life that are waged under the surface in the fertile soil of the heart. Those battles often involve what's brewing therein. As you go through your days and weeks encountering challenging, disappointing, discouraging, and painful things with various people it's all too easy to become too used to, or comfortable with anger.

Do you see and know your God in His holiness and praise Him for it? Knowing this more and more, may your zeal grow in singing out the honor of His holy name, giving Him all glory.

In order to truly love God, you have to know God. Further, your love for others is an extension of your love for God. He is the Author of love and perfection of it. May you prayerfully seek to love the Lord your God with knowledge fueled, warm affection in the whole of your being and then love your neighbor as yourself.
