We are going on a pilgrimage! Better yet, for many of us we are continuing a pilgrimage to the Christ’s Celestial City. For the next four months, our staff pastors and guest speakers will be preaching through the Psalms of Ascent (Psalm 120-134). This Sunday, elder Wayne Baxter, will be kicking off the series with Psalm 120.

This Sunday we will be studying Exodus 24 and learn how God confirmed His covenant with Israel.

In Exodus 20:20-33, we see a victory guaranteed by God for His people Israel. Can you imagine a guaranteed victory? God does guarantee victories and even guarantees yours and my greatest victory. Come on Sunday morning to our 10:30 AM service to find out more what God guarantees as our great victory.

This Sunday we will study how God in Exodus 23:10-19 mandated rest even for the farmer’s fields. The principle we will learn is this: rest comes well before harvest, not just after it. As we will learn, God truly cares about us getting rest, His creation getting rest, and He wants us to enjoy the harvest He produces.

This Sunday we will be studying Exodus 21:1-23:9 and reading some of the laws that God established. To our modern and western ears, some of them are going to sound crazy. Could you please do me a favour? Start with the premise that God is good and acts for our good and then try to study and read these laws. For each law given, ask the question why would a good God put this law in His holy word?

Happy Canada Day! There is something greater that ties us believers together than cheering for Canada or nationalistic pride - the Lord Jesus Christ! It is Jesus and Him tying us together as a church that will be the focus this Sunday from 1 Timothy 4:14-16 as we continue our sermon mini-series entitled F.I.T. (Faithful Involved Tied). Jesus saved us to be a church that affirms our spiritual gifts, appreciates our spiritual progress and pays attention to our believers and behaviours. Because of what Jesus has done, we who once were separated from God and each other, are tied together in Christ and so let’s continue to commit to growing TOGETHER in the word of God, prayer, fellowship and the breaking of bread.

Happy Father's Day! This Sunday we begin a new two-week series entitled F.I.T. from 1 Timothy 4. We will get back to the Book of Exodus in July, but before you go on vacation, I want to you thinking staying F.I.T. this summer. F.I.T. stands for Faithful, Involved and Tied. As we have been journeying with the Israelites through the wilderness, we need to learn how to stay F.I.T. in times when we are ill-equipped and seem to lack resources. This Sunday we will learn how to be faithful and yet involved as fathers, but more importantly, as church family members. When we are in our wilderness times, may we look to the Lord to help us stay F.I.T.
