The main reason of explaining this is to help you understand that, Ramayana is a simple incident (Sanagatana ) in Rama’s life . But for a reader or an observer it’s a huge war (Sangarshana), which has an immense impact on us.

Yes, Maricha explains to Ravana that Rama is the embodiment of righteousness, he is an equable person with truthfulness as his valour, and as with Indra to all gods he is the king of entire world.
