Movie Mike’s Movie Podcast is hosted by Mike D who is the head writer on The Bobby Bones Show and The BobbyCast where he has been dubbed as the ‘resident movie expert’.  The podcast offers a weekly deep dive in a cinema topic often formatted in a ranking list format. Each episode, Mike gives a spoiler free review of a new movie in theaters or streaming at home. Plus, Mike offers listeners a look at what’s coming to a screen near you soon inside of Movie Mike’s Trailer Park where he breaks down the latest film teasers.  Mike is a frequent moviegoer and researcher of movie facts and trivia. He doesn’t consider himself a ‘critic’ because he’s just a guy who loves movies!

The members of the rowing team at the University of Washington get thrust into the spotlight as they compete for gold at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Kelsey compares the movie vs the book and Mike explains why he thinks this movie is perfect for ‘school movie day’.  In the Trailer Park, Mike takes a look at Road House starring Jake Gyllenhaal.  It’s a reimagining of the 80s cult classic, ex-UFC fighter Dalton  takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems. Recently, Mickey Mouse has entered the public domain after the copyright on Steamboat Willie officially expired. Mike was inspired by this and in this episode shares his Top 5 ideas he has for movies that should be made once these famous characters become public domain. He explains what public domain means and other characters that have recently gone into the public domain and people are already making movies with the characters without being sued. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about Hulu’s Self Reliance Starring Jake Johnson and Anna Kendrick. It’s about a guy who receives an invitation to win $1 million by playing a game where he must outwit hunters attempting to kill him. He realizes the hunters can only attack him when he's alone, but none of his friends and family believe the game is real. In the Trailer Park, Mike gives his thoughts on IF.
