096- You Have a Stage Goal. What's your Post-Show Goal?
2026/09/30
You Have a Stage Goal. What’s Your Post-Show Goal? You’ve spent months working toward the physique you want to bring to the stage. What do you want to work toward when the show is over? In this episode of The Rachel Rampton Show, I’m sharing what I’m already thinking about during my own prep: having a clear goal for the woman who comes home after the show. If your only post-show goal is “I don’t want to gain weight,” let’s give you something more useful to work toward. What do you want to develop in your physique? How do you want to train? What do you want this next season to make room for in your life? In this episode, we talk about: Giving your reverse and post-show transition a clear purpose. Being honest with your coach about wanting to improve while feeling afraid of body changes. Recognizing progress when getting leaner is no longer the goal. Making room for marriage, family, and life while pursuing your physique goals. Staying rooted in your identity in God through every season. Your action step: Write down what you want to develop in your physique, what successful follow-through looks like, and what you want more room for in your life. Bring those answers to your coach. You can be proud of your stage physique and intentional about what comes next. Your worth never depended on your conditioning. Interested in coaching through prep and beyond? 095- The Stage Was Never the Finish Line
2026/09/23
Today, Ashley stepped onto the Amateur Olympia stage for her first national show—and it was Team Grit & Grace’s first national show, too. I’m incredibly proud of her. In this episode, I’m taking you behind the moment you see onstage. Ashley and I built a plan, watched how her body responded, and made decisions for *her* throughout prep. She brought honesty, trust, and execution to that process. That matters to me just as much as the few minutes people see under the lights. We’re talking about what it means to reach a national stage, what show feedback can teach us, and why coaching an athlete doesn’t end when she walks offstage. **In this episode, we talk about:** * What Ashley’s first national show meant to us * The work and decisions behind her prep * Why two athletes can execute well and still need different plans * How to use stage feedback without letting a placing define you * Why the plan *after* the show matters, too The stage is a milestone worth celebrating. It can also show us where to go next. Ashley did the work to get here, and I’m excited to keep building with her. If you’re working toward your own stage goal and want coaching that pays attention to *your* response, connect with me about Team Grit & Grace at **@rachelrampton_**. And if this episode speaks to an athlete you know, share it with her. 🤍🔥
094- We Build The Plan. Then We Coach the Response.
2026/09/15
We Build the Plan. Then We Coach the Response. Your macros are not her macros. Your cardio is not her cardio. Your timeline is not her timeline. And even your last prep isn’t this prep. In this episode of The Rachel Rampton Show, I’m talking about one of the most important principles I use both as a competition coach and in my own bikini prep: We build the plan. Then we coach the response. A prep protocol gives us a starting point—but a real woman with her own body, hormones, metabolism, training history, stress, recovery, circumstances and life has to execute that protocol. That’s why we don’t borrow someone else’s macros, cardio, timeline or prep experience and assume it tells us what our body should be doing. Your body gives us the information. Then we respond. I’m also sharing something I’ve been personally working through this month with one of our Grit & Grace Standards: Appreciate Differences. For me, comparison hasn’t only been about other women. I’ve had to stop using my own previous stage physique as a weapon against the woman I am today. Do I wish I had maintained more of that physique? Yes. Was it a crap ton of work to get there—and has it been a crap ton of work to rebuild that level of discipline? Yes. But those photos don't have to be evidence that I'm failing because I'm not there yet. They can be evidence of what’s possible. In this episode, we talk about: Why copying another athlete’s prep protocol doesn’t make sense The difference between building a protocol and actually coaching an athlete What weight, photos, performance, hunger, sleep, digestion, recovery, cycle changes and adherence can tell us Responding to patterns instead of reacting emotionally to one hard day Why lifting during prep is about preserving the physique—not simply burning more calories Using comparison as possibility instead of shame What our Grit & Grace Standard Appreciate Differences looks like in my own life right now Learning to appreciate a former version of yourself without believing you should already be her Why feelings are information—but not always instruction Trusting today's assignment instead of borrowing tomorrow's hard Execute today's plan. Communicate honestly. Look at the evidence. Then make the next decision from the information you actually have. We build the plan. Then we coach the response. Work With Me If you're ready to pursue your goals with grit, grace, discipline and individualized coaching, I'd love to walk alongside you through Team Grit & Grace. Message me on IG: @rachelrampton_ for more info. And if this episode encouraged you, share it with a woman who needs the reminder that someone else's journey—or even a former version of herself—can be evidence of possibility without becoming a reason to believe she's not enough.
093- Training for Purpose: Recovery is Part of the Program
2026/09/08
Training hard creates the stimulus—but recovery is what allows your body to adapt, rebuild, and progress. In this final episode of my training series, we’re connecting the work you do inside the gym with the recovery work that must happen outside of it. I’m sharing what I learned during a recent bodywork appointment about overused and shortened muscle groups, movement compensations, and how repetitive training, walking, cardio, and posing can create imbalances over time. We’re also talking about why bikini athletes should practice posing on both sides, the difference between simply resting and intentionally recovering, and why doing more is not always the disciplined choice. In this episode: Why muscle growth doesn’t happen during the workout The difference between rest and intentional recovery How repetitive training, cardio, walking, and posing can create imbalances Why bikini athletes should practice posing on both sides The value of targeted stretching, foam rolling, and mobility work The difference between a relaxing massage and purposeful bodywork Why regular bodywork can be valuable for serious athletes How your body compensates when a muscle cannot do its job properly The difference between normal training discomfort and warning signs Why adding extra sets, cardio, or exercises can interfere with progress The recovery signals athletes need to communicate to their coaches Why recovery becomes even more important as competition prep progresses How sleep, nutrition, hydration, digestion, stress, and rest affect performance A serious athlete doesn’t only know how to push. She knows how to listen, communicate, recover, and follow the plan. More is not always better. Better is better. And recovery is part of the program. Ready to stop waiting and start building? 092- Train With Purpose: The Difference Between Working Out and Training
2026/09/01
Training hard matters—but how you execute your training matters too. Last week, we talked about intensity: pushing close to failure, progressive overload, and giving your body a reason to change. This week, we're taking it one step further. Because there’s a difference between simply working out and actually training like an athlete. In this episode, I’m breaking down why the details in your program aren't suggestions. That 3-second eccentric, pause, hold, mobility drill, or ab work? There’s a reason it was programmed. We’re talking about: Why tempo, pauses, holds, and control matter The difference between training with intensity and ego lifting Why progressive overload isn't always adding more weight How better execution can be a form of progression Why your entire program matters—not just the exercises you like How physique training becomes more individualized as your coach learns your body The mindset shift from “I got my workout done” to “I executed what was programmed.” Especially as a physique athlete, you're not just trying to burn calories or leave the gym exhausted. You're building something. Last week's challenge was to increase your intensity. This week's challenge? Keep the intensity—and add intention. Stop asking only, “Can I lift heavier?” Start asking: “Can I do this better?” Because athletes don't just work out. They train with purpose. IG: @rachelrampton_ Post your workout videos and tag Rachel so she can celebrate you.
091- You’re Working Out But Are You Training With Enough Intensity to Change Your Body?
2026/08/26
You’re Working Out… But Are You Actually Training? You’re showing up to the gym. You’re following the program. You’re checking off the workouts. But are you actually training hard enough to give your body a reason to change? On our Grit & Grace team call this week, we talked about training intensity—and the difference between simply completing a workout and truly training with intention. Because here’s the truth: most of us are stronger than we think we are. In this episode, I’m talking about: The difference between working out and actually training Why “I did my workout” doesn’t always equal progressive overload What training intensity actually looks and feels like Why discomfort does not automatically mean muscular failure How to know when it’s time to increase your weight Why controlled reps and good form still matter when training hard How your 100% changes depending on whether you’re building or deep in prep Why prep ultimately reveals what you built before you ever started dieting The mindset I use between hard sets when my brain is already telling me, “I don't want to do that again.” How training becomes another opportunity to build trust in yourself One of the biggest lessons? Stop trying to mentally conquer the entire workout. Breathe. Reset. Win the next rep. Win the next set. And keep becoming the woman who does what she said she was going to do. Your body doesn't need punishment. And your worth isn't determined by how lean you are or how much weight you can lift. But you can steward the body God gave you well, train it with intention, and find out what you're actually capable of. Built with grit. Rooted in grace. 090- Peak Week: You’re Not Done Yet
2026/08/19
What happens when you’re almost at the finish line… but your body and mind are telling you they’ve had enough? In this episode of The Rachel Rampton Show, I’m talking about the side of competition prep that doesn’t get shared nearly as often—the final stretch when you’re depleted, sore, tired, and discovering what you’re actually capable of. I’m sharing stories from my own preps, including the nights when finishing cardio felt almost impossible, breaking sessions into smaller pieces just to get them done, middle-of-the-night walks with Brandon, and the infamous hot-pool cardio where I promised him it would be “better.” 😂 Because getting truly stage lean isn’t always going to feel comfortable, in fact, not even close. That doesn’t mean we glorify suffering or believe harder is automatically better. There’s a difference between recklessly running yourself into the ground and recognizing that sometimes pursuing an extreme goal is simply going to require you to dig deep. And that becomes especially important during peak week—or what we call Grace Week at Grit & Grace. Grace Week isn’t your victory lap….yet. You’re not done because you made it to peak week. You’re not done because you woke up on show day. And you’re definitely not done after prejudging. We finish what we started—all the way through finals. In this episode, we talk about: What the final weeks of a bodybuilding prep can actually feel like Why feeling tired late in prep doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong The difference between productive discomfort and unnecessary suffering Why I recommend creating as much margin as possible during Grace Week What competitors should expect during the final days before a show Why you cannot mentally check out after prejudging Breaking overwhelming moments down into “one more day” How hard seasons create evidence of what you’re capable of Why grit doesn’t mean destroying yourself—and grace doesn’t mean quitting The identity you build when you keep your word even when the work gets hard One of the greatest things bodybuilding has taught me is that sometimes you reach what you thought was your limit…and discover there’s another gear inside of you. You don’t have to feel strong to take the next step. You don’t have to feel motivated. And you don't have to figure out how you're going to make it through the entire week. Sometimes you put your shoes on, turn on Rocky, look toward the finish line and tell yourself: One more day. Because every time you do, you’re collecting evidence about who you are. You are capable of more than you thought. Built with grit. Rooted in grace. ❤️‍🔥 #bodybuildingprep #bikinicompetitor #peakweek #npcbikini #gritandgrace
089- Facts Over Feelings, Stop Letting one bad day Rewrite the Story
2026/08/11
Have you ever stepped on the scale, missed a workout, or gone off plan with one meal—and immediately convinced yourself you'd ruined everything? You're not alone. The problem usually isn't the fact itself. It's the story we attach to it. In this episode, we're talking about why one moment doesn't define your progress, how emotions can distort your perspective, and why learning to separate facts from feelings is one of the most powerful mindset shifts you can make. Whether you're in a fat-loss phase, preparing for a bodybuilding competition, or simply trying to become more consistent, this episode will help you stop reacting emotionally and start responding with wisdom. In this episode, we discuss: Why one bad day doesn't erase weeks of consistency The difference between facts and the stories we create about them Why scale fluctuations don't always reflect fat gain How emotional thinking can sabotage your progress Why coaches look for patterns—not isolated moments The importance of making protocol decisions based on data instead of emotions What Scripture teaches about taking our thoughts captive How to respond with truth instead of spiraling into self-defeat ***Your Action Step This Week*** The next time something doesn't go according to plan, pause before reacting. Ask yourself: What are the facts? Then ask: What story am I telling myself about these facts? Finally, ask: Is that story actually true? Choose truth over assumptions. Choose your next right step over perfection. Remember, one meal doesn't define you. One workout doesn't define you. One weigh-in doesn't define you. Your direction—and your willingness to return to your standards—does. ---Ready to Build More Than a Physique? Rachel believes lasting transformation starts from the inside out. Whether your goal is fat loss, stepping on stage, or becoming the healthiest, strongest version of yourself, she'll help you build the mindset, discipline, and confidence to sustain your results for life. 088- When Doing More is Holding You Back
2026/08/04
If you're a high-achieving woman, you've probably had this thought before: "I just need to do more." More cardio. Less food. More work. More discipline. More hustle. But what if doing more isn't the answer? What if the next level of growth requires wisdom instead of more effort? In this episode, we're talking about one of the biggest lessons bodybuilding—and life—has taught me: discipline isn't about doing the most. It's about doing what the season requires. Sometimes the most disciplined decision is to push. Sometimes it's to recover. The key is learning the difference. In this episode, we discuss: Why high-achieving women often equate "doing more" with being disciplined The difference between stewardship and self-punishment Why muscle is built during recovery—not just during training How to recognize when your body, mind, or season is asking for consistency instead of more effort Why emotional decisions often lead to burnout The importance of trusting the process when results aren't immediately visible What Scripture teaches about seasons, patience, and faithful stewardship How wisdom helps you know when to push and when to recover ***Your Action Step This Week*** Before adding more to your plate, ask yourself: What does this season actually require of me? Then ask: Do I need more effort...or more trust? Do I need to push...or do I need to recover? Am I making this decision from wisdom...or from fear? Choose the response that aligns with the woman God is calling you to become—not the one your emotions are demanding in the moment. --Ready to Build a Strong Body and an Even Stronger Mindset? At Grit & Grace, we don't just build physiques—we build women who know how to train with wisdom, fuel with purpose, recover with intention, and trust the process. Whether your goal is fat loss, stepping on stage, or becoming the strongest version of yourself, you don't have to figure it out alone. If you're ready to stop chasing "more" and start building lasting transformation, I'd love to help. 087- You're Not Losing Motivation. Your Brain is Negotiating With the Standard.
2026/07/28
Have you ever caught yourself saying… “I'm bored.” “I'm just not excited anymore.” “I think I've lost my drive for this.” What if you’re not actually losing motivation? What if your brain is simply negotiating with the standard you’ve set? In this episode, we’re diving into one of the biggest mindset shifts that separates women who keep starting over from women who create lasting transformation. Whether you’re in a fat-loss phase, preparing for a bodybuilding competition, building your business, or simply trying to become more consistent, your brain will always try to pull you back toward what’s familiar. That doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re growing. The key is learning to recognize the difference between wisdom and negotiation. In this episode, we discuss: *Why losing motivation isn’t always the real problem *How your brain naturally resists new standards *The difference between goals and identity-based standards *Recognizing the voice of wisdom versus the voice of comfort *Why self-trust is built through ordinary, everyday decisions *How consistency—not perfection—creates lasting transformation *What Scripture teaches about staying faithful when results aren’t visible *Practical questions to help you stop negotiating with the woman you’re becoming Your Action Step This Week The next time you catch yourself saying, “I don’t feel like it,” pause and ask yourself: Is this wisdom…or is this my brain negotiating with my standard? Then ask: What would the woman I’m becoming choose today? One decision. One promise kept. One step forward. That’s how self-trust is built. That’s how standards become your identity. Ready to Stop Starting Over? If you’re ready to build more than just a healthier body—if you’re ready to become a woman who trusts herself, follows through, and lives with grit and grace—I would love to help you. Whether your goal is fat loss, stepping on stage, or simply becoming stronger in every area of your life, my coaching is designed to help you create lasting transformation from the inside out. 086- You Don’t Need to Feel Ready. You Need to Become the Woman Who Keeps Going
2026/07/21
What if the resistance you keep trying to get rid of is actually the exact place where your next identity is being built? So many women are waiting to feel more motivated, more confident, more disciplined, or more ready before they take the next step. But confidence doesn’t always come before action. Sometimes, confidence is built because you took action before you felt ready. In this episode, I’m sharing what I’m learning in real time through my own competition prep, going back to school, running my business, and coaching women who are being asked to step into their own next level. We’re talking about the power of creating evidence. Every time you keep a promise to yourself, do the thing you’ve been avoiding, trust the process when your feelings get loud, or get back up instead of spiraling—you are giving your brain evidence of who you are becoming. In this episode, we talk about: • Why waiting to feel ready can keep you stuck • How action creates evidence and evidence builds self-trust • Why confidence is often built after you do the hard thing • The difference between discipline and constantly doing more • Knowing when your next level requires you to push—and when it requires you to recover • Breaking old patterns through small acts of aligned action • Controlling the controllables when you can’t control the outcome • The role faith plays when you don’t feel qualified or completely confident • How grit and grace work together in the process of becoming The question I want you to take with you this week is: What is one thing you’ve been waiting to feel ready to do? Then ask yourself: What would the woman I say I’m becoming do today? And go give yourself the evidence. You don’t become her and then start acting like her. You start acting like her—and through every rep, every hard decision, every promise kept, and every act of obedience—you become her. 🔥 READY TO TAKE YOUR PHYSIQUE TO THE NEXT LEVEL? If you’re dreaming about stepping on stage, preparing for your next competition, or you know there is another level inside of you, Grit & Grace may be exactly what you’re looking for. This is about more than building a stage-ready body. We’re building women who know how to execute, trust themselves, hold a higher standard, and become who their next level requires them to be. Reach out to me to learn more. Keep building grit. Keep extending yourself grace. And keep becoming the woman God created you to be. — Rachel

084- Food Freedom Isn’t Something you Have. It’s Something you Build
2026/07/08
Have you ever started the weekend with the best intentions… only to find yourself saying, "I'll just start over on Monday"? You're not alone—and you're not lacking discipline. In this episode, Rachel shares why food isn't the real problem. The real battle happens in the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns that follow one "off-plan" meal. Drawing from her own journey long before stepping on a bodybuilding stage, Rachel explains how food freedom isn't something you're born with—it's something you build through repeated choices, renewed identity, and consistent practice. She also introduces her RARE Reset Framework—a neuroscience and faith-based approach to breaking the all-or-nothing cycle by learning to: Rewire old thought patterns Anchor into God's truth and your identity Regulate your nervous system instead of reacting emotionally Execute the next right step without waiting for Monday Whether you're working toward your healthiest lifestyle or you're a competitor learning to navigate life beyond prep, this episode will remind you that confidence, discipline, and food freedom are all built the same way: One decision at a time. In This Episode You'll Learn: Why one meal doesn't have to become one bad weekend The real reason most women keep repeating the same cycle How identity influences your eating habits more than motivation Why recovering quickly matters more than being perfect Practical ways to break the "I'll start over Monday" mindset How the RARE Reset Framework helps create lasting change Your Action Steps This Week ✔️ Notice the story you tell yourself after an imperfect meal. ✔️ Practice getting back on track with your very next meal instead of waiting for Monday. ✔️ Look for evidence that you're growing—even if it's small. 083- You Can't Change What You Don't Notice
2026/07/01
Have you ever found yourself reaching for food and wondering... "Why did I just do that?" In this episode, we're talking about why awareness—not guilt—is the first step toward lasting transformation. You'll learn: Why food is often the symptom, not the problem How awareness creates choice What Lamentations 3:40 teaches us about real transformation How to use the RARE Framework to interrupt old patterns and create new ones Scripture of the Week Lamentations 3:40 "Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord." Your Action Steps This Week ✔️ Notice what you're feeling before you eat. ✔️ Pause and ask, "What do I actually need right now?" ✔️ Pray Lamentations 3:40 each morning and ask God to reveal the patterns He wants to transform. 082- Control the Controllables
2026/06/24
Life doesn't have to be perfect for you to keep moving forward. In this episode, Rachel shares a personal story from one of the most emotional and exhausting weeks of her prep journey—and the powerful lesson it taught her about discipline, awareness, and the behaviors we practice every day. This isn't really a story about muffins. It's a conversation about what happens when life interrupts your plans and how the women who reach the next level learn to respond differently. If you've ever felt like you're trying so hard, only to have life knock you off track, this episode is for you. In this episode, you'll learn: Why willpower isn't your greatest asset How practiced behaviors become your default under pressure The difference between craving food and craving relief Why awareness always comes before lasting change How to stop starting over and begin recovering faster Simple ways to design an environment that supports your goals What it means to control the controllables Why your identity is built through repeated decisions—not perfect ones Your Action Steps This Week ✅ Identify your "muffins." What's the thing you tend to reach for when you're stressed, tired, overwhelmed, or emotional? Become aware without judging yourself. ✅ Practice ONE behavior. Choose one simple habit to repeat every day this week. Examples: • Eat protein with every meal. • Drink your water before coffee. • Track breakfast every morning. • Take a 10-minute walk after dinner. Master consistency before adding more. ✅ Audit your environment. Ask yourself: "What in my environment is making my hardest moments even harder?" Then make one change that supports the woman you're becoming. Reflection Questions What keeps pulling me away from the person I want to become? Am I relying on motivation or practiced behaviors? What emotion usually comes before my hardest decisions? What's one behavior I want to become automatic? What can I control today? Favorite Quote "You don't rise to your goals. You fall to your practiced behaviors." Ready for More? If you're looking for coaching that goes beyond macros and meal plans, Rachel would love to help you. Her coaching programs are where women learn to rewire the behaviors, beliefs, and standards that create lasting transformation. Grit & Grace is for women who are ready to pursue competition prep excellence with faith, grit, and integrity. You don't have to do this alone.
