Advertise on podcast: What We Stream

Raf and Mike are back at it again this episode. A lot has changed but the streaming must flow. Look forward to chat about the HBO Harry Potter teaser, what’s up with the Paul bros, and more.

In this episode, we cover a lot of ground: the future of streaming with the Disney–Hulu merger, the clash of old media vs new media, and what’s happening with Paramount and the UFC. We also wander into culture and life in our signature ramble — before diving into one of the internet’s strangest and most trending obsessions: K-Pop Demon Hunters (starting at 44:45). From streaming wars to supernatural fandoms, this one’s got it all. Keywords: Disney Hulu merger, streaming wars, old vs new media, Paramount UFC deal, K-Pop Demon Hunters, pop culture podcast, trending topics podcast, media commentary.

We’re here to break down everything we know about Superman (2025). From casting and plot choices to tone, legacy, and how it sets the stage for the new DC Universe, we dig into what fans should expect from this bold new take. Is this the Superman we’ve been waiting for? Plus: our wishes for future DCU projects. Keywords: James Gunn Superman, Superman 2025 movie, DCU reboot, David Corenswet Superman, superhero movie podcast, DC Universe, comic book movies, Superman history, pop culture podcast.

Believe it or not, Our Flag Means Death tops the charts as the most-watched streaming show of all time — and we’re diving into how a queer pirate comedy took the world by storm. From fandom power to storytelling charm, we unpack what made it a global success. Then, we return to Mike’s legendary college screenplay for part two of our dramatic read-through, where the twists get twistier and the dialogue somehow gets even more... Mike.

In this packed episode, we gives our thoughts on Andor  Season 2 — what worked, what surprised us, and what it means for the future of Star Wars TV. Then, we react to the brand-new Superman (2025) trailer and break down all the big reveals, Easter eggs, and DCU implications. Finally, we bring back a hilarious segment: a dramatic reading of the "Greatest College Script of All Time," written by none other than our co-host Mike. You don't want to miss this mix of geek news, storytelling chaos, and hot takes!

On this May the Fourth, we dive deep into the galaxy of STAR WARS—not to rank lightsaber duels or debate Jedi lore, but to ask a more deranged and profound question: How do you turn brain rot into cinema? From the bloated spectacle of franchise fatigue to the unexpected prestige of Andor, we explore how one of the world’s most memed, merchandised, and overextended IPs somehow produced a work of real political drama, human depth, and aesthetic restraint. What does it take to elevate the algorithmic sludge into art? And more importantly—why does it feel so good when it works?

We are back! In this jam-packed episode, your favorite hosts dive deep into the wild world of pop culture with hot takes, bold predictions, and nostalgic throwbacks. We kick things off with the DCU’s Superman and updates on The Batman, then shift gears to discuss SNL’s latest sketch hits with Jack Black. Things get animated as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of A Goofy Movie, explore the underrated classic Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and debate the possible Disney acquisition of Looney Tunes—yes, you read that right! Could Bugs Bunny really join Mickey Mouse under one roof? We also get trash talk Gladiator 2, and revisit the golden age of cartoons with not one, but two deep dives into Looney Tunes—from legacy to future.   If you want to support, you can donate here: buymeacoffee.com/whatwestream

We're back to give our final thoughts on the (short-lived) Acolyte show—a few months after its final episode. We also get excited about WWE and the Paul-Tyson. This episode was recorded before the Tyson-Paul fight so we didn't know how it had ended at the time of this recording.

Buckle up for an episode where the titanic terror of Tokyo, Godzilla, takes on a galaxy far, far away in a clash of cinematic titans! This week, we dive deep into the chaotic brilliance of Godzilla Minus One—because what's a monster movie without a little urban renewal? Then, we swing lightsabers and unravel mysteries with The Acolyte, a series that promised more intrigue than it delivered (for now). Will Godzilla learn the ways of the Force? Can a Jedi mind trick calm the King of the Monsters? Tune in to find out! Prepare for laughs, epic showdowns, and enough geeky insights to make a kaiju blush. Whether you're Team Roar or Team Saber, this episode is guaranteed to be a blast of atomic breath and Force waves. May the scales and stars be with you!
