Scott Van Pelt and Stanford Steve recap NFL Week 6 and discuss the top storylines of the week. First, the guys touch on the NBA season getting underway before breaking down the 49ers win over the Commanders on MNF. Can San Francisco keep it up with all the injuries? Plus SVP shares his thoughts on the Dan Quinn discourse and what to make of the questionable happenings in the recent Commanders games. The Vikings play again this week and the offense might be turning the corner. Could Minnesota become a truly elite team? Are the Broncos good? And what are we to do with the 2-4 Rams? SVP isn’t selling his stock.
The guys also discuss the Seahawks upcoming schedule, if the Texans are back, how the Ravens could rue the Maxx Crosby preseason situation, why Brock Bowers may need even MORE targets and of course, the Jalen Hurts situation and what to make of the truly puzzling situation.
SVP also reacts to Maryland firing Mike Locksley, the guys discuss the Milwaukee Brewers-Tampa Bay Rays World Series matchup, the Jim Nantz’ peanut punch moment, Halloween, Utah-Houston, the Julian Sayin injury reaction and SVP’s muppet knowledge. | SVPod

Scott Van Pelt and Stanford Steve recap a WILD day of college football including some of the most surprising results to date. The guys start with BYU knocking off Notre Dame in Provo, with Steve offering his thoughts after seeing the game in person. SVP explains how Bear Bachmeier proved him wrong and what BYU did well in the massive win. Miami hung on against Florida State in a game that saw some questionable officiating in the end, but Miami won and the Canes will likely be the new No. 1 team in the country on Sunday.
The most shocking result was Auburn taking down No. 1 Georgia in Athens. How did that happen? The guys break down Byrum Brown's performance, Gunner Stockton and more from the stunner in Georgia. Tennessee DOMINATED Alabama in Knoxville, as the defense and run game is legit. The guys discuss Alabama's skid and Tennessee's potential down the stretch, as well as ANOTHER Texas loss and what to make of the Longhorns, Ole Miss' dominant win, UCLA's low-scoring victory, Kentucky's road win at Oklahoma and more.
Ohio State beat Indiana but SVP was impressed with BOTH teams, as the Hoosiers will be fine. Finally, a word on the Big 12's depth, the ACC pecking order, Michigan benching Bryce Underwood, Northwestern's thrilling win, Steve Young on College GameDay and more.

Moisture Swoon
2026/10/06
Scott Van Pelt and Stanford Steve are here to share their biggest takeaways from NFL Week 4. Starting in New Orleans, SVP and Steve share their experiences in the Big Easy honoring the Saints’ infamous punt block 20 years ago on MNF after Hurricane Katrina. SVP discusses how special the Domecoming scene was before the game and what it meant to talk with Steve Gleason, Trombone Shorty and others. The guys then get into the Falcons’ dominant win over the Saints, sharing takeaways from Michael Penix and Bijan Robinson’s performances. Three teams are 4-0, which one is the best? Why Stanford Steve thinks it’s NONE of them, and that the Jaguars have the rightful claim to the league’s best team through a month of ball. The Carolina Panthers are on the rise and Steve is waving the Bryce Young MVP flag. Too soon? Or is he finally emerging as a top-tier QB in the league. Penalties are at an all-time high across the league, leaving SVP frustrated and befuddled, and also nostalgic on what particular ref’s holding call gesture. Additionally, the guys talk the MLB playoffs, Georgia-Alabama, Tom Kim’s amazing win, the 0-4 Texans, how football used to be played in ANY type of weather and of course, Pooptown. | SVPod

Throw it to 4
2026/10/04
Scott Van Pelt and Stanford Steve recap the CFB Week 5 slate, discussing Alabama's dominant win over Mississippi State, Ohio State's win over Iowa, Missouri's drubbing of Florida and more. Plus, Steve gives a full recap from his experience in Iowa City, specifically the powerful interactions experienced in the Children's Hospital.
How GOOD is Keelon Russell and Alabama? Ohio State threw it to 4, which continues to be a good gameplan, as the Buckeys flexed their muscle and showed why they should still be considered one of the most dangerous teams in the nation. Missouri crushed Florida by 28 points for one of the biggest shockers of the day, as Austin Simmons is beginning to look like the quarterback many thought he would be. Minnesota got it done at home over Michigan for the first time in nearly 50 years, as the Gophers continue to prove why they're not an easy out. Kentucky remains a pesky team and picked up another huge win in Will Stein's first year as the Cats got it done on the road over South Carolina, pulling off the biggest comeback in UK history. Notre Dame avoided an upset in rainy Chapel Hill, Indiana and Georgia rolled, Nebraska put Maryland away in the 4th after the Terps had a big chance to build a dominant lead earlier in the ball game and USC found a way over Washington.
All that and more, including thoughts on Northwestern-Penn State, Texas Tech-Colorado, BYU-TCU, Tennessee-Auburn, Baylor, NC State, Wake Forest, Pitt-Virginia Tech and Houston-UCF. And last but certainly not least - what a performance from Yale's Dante Reno.

The guys then get into the biggest storylines from Week 3, including the Las Vegas Raiders big win over the Saints to improve to 3-0, Brock Purdy’s continued excellence as the San Francisco 49ers improved to 3-0, the bogus roughing the passer call on Chop Robinson in the Miami Dolphins’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Washington Commanders improbable win over the Seattle Seahawks, Drake Maye’s serious issues to start the year, the Atlanta Falcons’ dominant win over the Green Bay Packers, the Ravens-Cowboys and Rams-Broncos thrillers, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ potential and more.

Crops
2026/09/27
Scott Van Pelt and Stanford Steve Coughlin react to the LOADED college football Week 4 slate. The guys begin with Crops' MASSIVE win at Michigan that has clear College GameDay implications. How Iowa pulled off the walk-off win as Hank Brown tossed the game-winning score. Then onto Knoxville where Texas got it done in a place that is difficult to do so. SVP also adds his thoughts on Colin Simmons' controversial and penalized celebration. LSU and Georgia picked up blowout SEC wins but Oklahoma and Texas A&M... yikes. Florida delivered in The Swamp taking down fourth-ranked Ole Miss in a game that showed what the Jon Sumrall Gators are all about. And how about Wisconsin! The Badgers went into Happy Valley and pulled off the upset that the Badger program desperately needed. Oregon went on the road and defeated USC by two touchdowns in an emotional one that saw Dante Moore get knocked out of the game by Desman Stephens II, who celebrated after the fact. SVP and Steve share their thoughts on Stephens' antics...
Plus, Jake Dickert and Wake Forest proved Steve right with a big upset win at Louisville, Super Kamario Taylor kept his great season going as Mississippi State takes down Missouri, Alabama dominated South Carolina behind Keelon Russell, Jeremiah Smith and Ohio State breezed past Illinois, Boise State and Cincinnati got good wins, Oklahoma State flexed its muscle late at West Virginia en route to a big win and Notre Dame and Miami continued to roll.
Finally, SVP shares his thoughts on Maryland's 51-point loss to UCLA and Steve gave a full rundown of the Knoxville experience and how the College GameDay crew beautifully navigated and incredibly difficult day.

Scott Van Pelt and Stanford Steve Coughlin discuss Week 2 of the NFL and look ahead to Week 4 in college football. There are 8 0-2s and 8 2-0s in the NFL. Who is legit? SVP is buying MOST of the 2-0s… but not all. Injuries headline the week as Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels and Jaxson Dart all went down, and SVP acknowledges how one play can unfortunately derail a team’s entire season. Plus, a word on the Steelers offense being in ROUGH shape, the Broncos bounce back, the Chargers’ DISASTROUS start and more. It’s a big weekend in college football and Steve is headed to Rocky Top to see who the real UT is between Tennessee and Texas. But USC-Oregon are poised for a thrilling showdown, Ole Miss and Florida battle in The Swamp and watch out Indiana as Northwestern is playing good ball. 2026/09/13
SVP and Stanford Steve Coughlin recap the Texas Longhorns miracle comeback over the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Oregon Ducks’ stunning defeat to Oklahoma State and more. Texas scored 21 4th quarter points en route to a program-defining comeback win. The guys break down the game from every angle, and Steve offers his takeaways from a first-person point of view as the Big Man was boots on the ground in DKR. Madness ensued earlier in the day, too, as Oklahoma State - who got wrecked by Tulsa in Week 1 - pulled off the unthinkable and knocked off Oregon, who has not looked good to start the season. What to make of Dan Lanning's group and QB Dante Moore, who struggled late against the Pokes. Michigan bounced back with a nice 17-10 win over Oklahoma in the Big House. The guys discuss what allowed the Wolverines to pickup the huge win and leave the Western Michigan fiasco a thing of the past. Additionally, Alabama blanked Kentucky 32-0 in the second half to easily get out of trouble in Lexington, Tennessee largely rolled to a stress-free road win over Georgia Tech, Mississippi State dominated Minnesota, Iowa won the CyHawk Game despite trailing early, Texas Tech held on in "mean" Corvallis, the ACC had a nice day, Steve's Big 12 prediction is looking better and better by the week, and the Dirty Terps kept vibes high in the Rent. SVP and Stanford Steve are back to share their thoughts from Sunday and Monday’s CFB games and discuss what interests them most heading into this NFL season. SVP and Steve react to all the biggest games and storylines from CFB Week 1. Starting with none other than the bizarre ending to Michigan-Western Michigan. Did WMU get screwed? How did the refs decide there was a second left on the lock? SVP gives his unfiltered take about one of the more shocking turn of events in recent CFB memory. LSU throttled Clemson, but who did it say more about? Is LSU THIS legit? Steve then goes into depth on his time in Baton Rouge the last couple days, including lots and lots of oysters. Additionally, the guys break down Keelon Russell's debut, big days from Iowa, Penn State, Maryland, Indiana and Florida, along with spending plenty of time on Oregon's nail biter over Boise State.

SVP and Stanford Steve are joined by Bruce Feldman to discuss the biggest topics and answer the top burning questions heading into the college football season. The guys get Bruce’s thoughts on the Big Ten pecking order, his thoughts on Miami, the B1G team that could be flying under the radar and more. Plus, which first-year head coach is most likely to turn things around quickly? Is this Notre Dame’s year? How much pressure is on Steve Sarkisian and Dan Lanning? Plus why the Big 12 is still Texas Tech’s league to lose, G6 teams to keep an eye on, behind Feldman’s ‘Freak List’ and a full breakdown of the legal chaos that is consuming the sport. Scott and Steve also recap Week 0, the Daejon Love situation, Scottie Scheffler’s Cup win and discuss what’s coming up. | SVPod
