Think about how often this has happened: a name comes to mind in prayer, and you feel the quiet urge to call them, encourage them, or check on them. You pause. You reason. You schedule it for later. And by later, the nudge is gone, the moment has passed, and you wonder what God was doing in that small, unspoken prompting. That first prompting was not random. It was the Spirit doing what He does: leading. Walking in the Spirit is not a mystical mood you chase on special occasions; it is a daily habit of quick obedience. The Spirit speaks in the still, small voice, and He moves in the first nudge, not the second, third, or fourth one after we have talked ourselves out of it. Scripture anchors this principle plainly. "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16, KJV). And again: "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God" (Romans 8:14, KJV). To be led by the Spirit is the family mark of God children. It is not about perfection; it is about responsiveness. Here is how to live this out: 1. Obey the first prompting, before your reasoning can talk you out of it. When the Spirit told Philip to run to the chariot, Philip ran; he did not call a committee (see Acts 8:29). Delay is the graveyard of obedience. When the nudge comes, move first and evaluate later. 2. Make room for the whisper every morning. The Spirit voice is seldom a shout; it is the still, small sound that busyness drowns out. Five unhurried minutes of listening are worth more than an hour of anxious planning. If you want to hear Him in the moment, practice hearing Him in the quiet. 3. Trust that small nudges carry big assignments. A text to encourage someone, an apology to make, a gift to give, a prayer to pray right now. The size of the prompting never determines the size of the blessing. Some of the greatest work God has ever done began with a whisper someone actually obeyed. So tonight, as the day settles, ask the simple question: what did He say today that you are still negotiating? Settle it before sleep. You will rest better knowing you answered Him the first time. Dim #NightLight RTTBROS THE FLICKERING BEAM we all have an old flashlight in the kitchen drawer that’s seen better days. Most of the time it works fine, but every so often, the batteries start to fade. The beam doesn't just go out; it starts to flicker. It gets dim, then bright, then dim again, leaving you squinting in the dark, shaking the thing and hoping for one more good burst of light to get you to the fuse box. I think a lot of us live our spiritual lives in that flickering mode. We’re not totally "dark," but we’re dim. We’re running on the fumes of a victory from three years ago, or the remnants of a faith we had in college, and we're just shaking the flashlight, hoping we have enough energy to make it through another Tuesday. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."  Psalm 119:105 Notice the verse doesn't say the Word is a stadium floodlight. A lamp doesn't illuminate the whole forest; it just shows you where to put your foot for the very next step. When you feel your light flickering tonight when you feel depleted and dim stop trying to light up the next ten years. Heaven Will Move Mountains to Show You the Way Principle 10: If necessary, God will move heaven and earth to show us His will. There is a prayer that God never refuses to answer, though He rarely answers it on our schedule. It is the prayer that says, "Lord, show me Your will." A God who went to a cross to redeem you will not leave you guessing about which road to take. Guidance is not a guessing game with heaven. It is a promise from heaven. God said it plainly: "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left" (Isaiah 30:21). That is not poetry. That is policy. When you turn toward a decision, He speaks direction. Consider Gideon. Tell God the decision, the deadline, and the options as you see them. Then say, "Make Your will unmistakable." He is not annoyed by the request. He is honored by the trust. 2. Watch the doors, not just your desires. An open door can be God guiding you, or it can be your own wishful pushing. A closed door can be Gods redirection, or your own timidity refusing to knock. The difference is found in prayer and in Scripture. Test both doors by the Word, and wait until one of them is unmistakably marked. 3. Move when He confirms, even if it costs. The guidance of God always lands where obedience is required. Once heaven has spoken, delay becomes disobedience. The disciples followed the Macedonian call and the gospel crossed into Europe. You never know how big the blessing is that is riding on your small yes. A frayed wire the size of a hair. One tiny thing stopping the whole system from working. We often do the same with our faith. We wait for the "big" calling. We want the mountain top moment or the grand gesture of faith. But God usually works in the grit. He works in the way you answer the phone when you're tired, the way you handle a rude comment in traffic, and the small, quiet "yes" when no one is watching. Many of us remember the movie Forrest Gump, where the main character spends years simply running. He didn't run for a trophy or a title; he just ran because he felt called to move. There is something powerful about the act of putting one foot in front of the other, day after day, until the journey itself becomes the destination. In the economy of God, the Christian life is much like that it is a steady, persistent "run" toward the heart of the Father. The story of Enoch's life is a powerful reminder that our walk with God is not just about going through the motions, but about cultivating a deep and intimate relationship with Him. In a world filled with distractions and temptations, it's easy to get sidetracked and lose focus on what's truly important. But Enoch's example shows us that it's possible to stay committed to God even in the midst of a corrupt and sinful society. Think of it as a long-distance run. A marathoner doesn't reach the finish line by a single burst of speed, but through a disciplined pace and a focused gaze. It's a picture of being overwhelmed, of feeling like the troubles are too much to handle. But the psalmist doesn't give up. He cries out to God, reminding Him of His lovingkindness and tender mercies. Reference: "O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation. Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters." Psalm 69:13-14 We've all been there at some point.
