Send us Fan Mail This episode, Stolen and Lost Child, is a very distressing interview, probably the most awful story I've ever done.  The parents, Riina and Davis, sent me this after the episode was recorded.  From Riina, who is from Estonia:  Truly appreciate your help and efforts to rescue Theo from mcfd malpractice and hospital tyranny. As a family we have a strong bond and attachment with one another therefore kids have been healing fairly quick from the trauma they received in Lower Mainland with the police and mcfd, as well being away from home for almost 3 years. But the fact is they never forgot about their brother.  They remember and talk about him every day. Even youngest who is now 2 knows the name of her brother who is now 4 years of age, and we often show her pictures of her brother.  It has been a big relief for kids to be back home and have grandparents close by and their pets that they missed dearly. My girls keep telling me they need their brother! Should I adopt, foster a brother for them?? giving birth is not my option now. Girls had a very strong connection with their brother that they developed at the hospital. They encouraged him to walk, eat, they made him laugh, they played with him, taught him many skills. He was always excited to see his sisters....they sang and played together. They made him thrive and laugh that nobody else could do. The hospital nurses made reports to Mcfd, telling them that his sisters are hazard to Theo...as they can trip on his oxygen monitor wires and ventilator tube that he was connected to. The wires and cords got very tangled up by Theo himself as he was very active. He liked to explore like every toddler does.  He was only allowed to go to patio where he could get some sunlight and see few flowers and plants. Sisters were giving him flowers to smell and thought him about plants.  Nurses and doctors kept telling how Theo is developing well and is such a smart boy. He knew exactly who his family is and was always scared when he saw new people at his door.  God really blessed me with amazing family and support group and especially my kids that are very caring, resilient, happy and persevering. I would love to connect with families who have had either good or bad experiences with mcfd and BC children's. As we share together we get encouraged and maybe together we find better solutions how to tackle our trials with the systems we are dealing with. From Davis: We are up against a very powerful system that has its tentacles in many government agencies.  Theo needs to be reunited to his family and the lies the system has made need to be made known so the child trafficking for monetary gain will end.  He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Mona has been teaching me Hebrew and is just back from Israel so I figured she'd be a good person to turn to in these tragic times. And I was correct. This is one of my favorite episodes. It's honest and deep and enlightening. Mona's bio: Mona Balogh retired from work as an Emergency Physician in 2014. Once retired, Mona has been busy studying alternative medicine pathways. This has led her to  recognize other therapeutic modalities that complement the Western Medicine model, including Traditional Chinese and Naturopathic medicine, energy medicine, herbal, and homeopathic treatments. In addition, Mona has been an avid Bible student, and has been leading Bible Studies, and teaching Biblical Hebrew since 2011. Throughout her life, Mona has been grappling with the problem of good vs evil, which makes the study of antisemitism and trauma so relevant today. Send us Fan Mail Hi Everyone,  Hope this finds you grounded and doing well in this chaotic time. In this episode, I speak with Vancouver lawyer, Paul Jaffe. Paul has been in practice for decades and offers great insight into the justice system in Canada. During Covid, he went up against BC Medical Officer, Bonnie Henry,  when pubs could be open but not churches. He isn't afraid to speak his mind on a variety of other subjects such as the horrific ostrich cull or Jim Heller's defamation lawsuit for simply saying potential mass graves. Paul has been the head commissioner at the NCI, the National Citizen's Inquiry, several times now, asking pertinent questions to our well-being.  I encourage you to check out this most extraordinary group, a citizen-led and citizen-funded effort that began first by examining Canada's response to COVID-19, and has gone on to other important topics that deeply affect us personally and as Canadians.  Kelowna was the last city to hold this ongoing, multi-city event asking "Are Farmers Safe in Canada?" I spoke as an expert witness Edmonton with the theme "Are Children Safe in Canada?" on The Flexner Report of 1910 when it was in Edmonton. It is a great eyeopener of how people have experienced the traumas of Covid, the ostrich cull, human trafficking, farmer's injustices and so on. Send us Fan Mail The Music Stopped on Valentine’s Day, a full-length radio play, tells the story of Avi Noam Gross—my late husband—whose life ended due to a medical error. It weaves this painful narrative with his music, because I needed a way not only to tell what happened, but to honour Avi’s extraordinary musicianship. Avi was a gifted composer and pianist. He completed his thesis on Bill Evans at the University of British Columbia, and his instrumental album Sophie’s Heart is currently streaming. This piece features his standalone songs as well as music from our original musicals, The Calling Hour and Meshugeneh, the Musical. The Old Show had already been written, and we were on the verge of workshopping it when Avi received the Tdap vaccine and suffered a catastrophic reaction. I won’t go further into the details here—you know the story does not end well. With The Music Stopped on Valentine’s Day, I hope you will come to know what happened to an extraordinarily talented, humble, and deeply intelligent man—one who was often misunderstood because of his unique nervous system, which placed him on the autism spectrum.  It will be three years this Valentine's Day that Avi passed. Send us Fan Mail Having a great interest in mind control, I discovered Jason Christoff at NCI - National Citizens Inquiry - an amazing Canadian people-led group diving into what went wrong during Covid. The present theme and question is  Are children safe in Canada? (I spoke on the Flexner Report of 1920 in Edmonton in March 2025. The Flexner Report sabotaged our medical system by making our health care solely allopathic, excluding systems of medicine such as homeopathy, naturopathic medicine, chiropractic, midwifery and traditional  osteopathy.)          Jason has spoken on the subject of mind control at the US Senate and at the EU, Japanese and Romanian Parliaments. Jason operates an international psychological reprogramming institute where he teaches health professionals and members of the general public how to use positive forms of mind control, to make their lives (and the lives of their patients) better.Jason is set to release his first documentary titled PLANET MIND CONTROLthis fall, 2025.  In order to win the battle we're all in today Jason believes that each citizen must educate on the basics, in relation to how mind control works and how to avoid becoming a victim of it. Victimhood is another topic I hope to discuss through this podcast as I regain equilibrium after my husband's death by medical error. To that end my one woman show will start off as a radio play. I hope to have it ready to air by October 2025. This journey of grieving has been intense and I want to thank so many- family, friends, strangers, new friends from Har El, the grief group out at N Van City Library as well as PJ and Beau for almost daily walks. Send us Fan Mail The deep healing that can occur through the Expressive Arts is only beginning to be acknowledged. In this episode I speak with solo show coach Jessica Lynn Johnston. She was my acting coach and director in my last solo show, Hidden. (See heatherherington.com for review). Writing my novel Flawed was lifesaving when I felt burn out from treating sexual abuse survivors as well as treating PTSD, addiction, autoimmune and so on for so many years. It allowed me to expresss emotion through my thoughts and ideas, helping me discard stress through creativity. And I kept writing whether it was the librettos fro Avi and my musicals or radio plays, essays and finally the books, Surviving a Viral Pandemic through the lens of a naturopathic medical doctor and Transforming Trauma, a drugless and creative path to healing PTS and ACE.  But for me performing solo shows has been the pinnacle. With Avi writing my tunes and singing them on stage while acting out my own sexual assault and embodying characters that supported my emotional recovery generated a healing so profound that I was actually shocked. And now years later I am creating a show about my late husband Avi Noam Gross who died from hospital error. And so with my acute grieving having subsided I am excited to bring my workshop back. Originally a retreat and called Moving the Pelvis to Healing, I am now naming it, Transforming Trauma through the Expressive Arts.  And this is why Jessica was a good person to interview as she has helped thousands of people, teaching them, coaching them, aiding them in transcending major bumps in their lives. Send us Fan Mail This episode talks about grieving and how and why an approach using both naturopathic medicine and the expressive arts can keep you balanced and sane, literally in this difficult but precious time. Grieving the loss of a loved one is not easy work. This is why it's so important to do whatever you can on your own to balance your body and mind in every way you know how.  My book Transforming Trauma, a drugless and creative path to heal PTS and ACE (Adverse Childhood Events) that ironically came out a few weeks before my husband went in the hospital there is a lot of information and measures offered to  maximize the best health possible, ensuring metabolic pathways get what they need to do the best job whether optimal nutrition,  supplementation, help in digestion and sleep, and so on. If we alternatively we comfort ourselves with sweets or late nights or other draws we can soon take a deep dive in our emotions and mental health.  I know it's not easy, I'm going through it myself, but what choice do we have? It can be a fine line between sanity and mental imbalance all the while you're in the midst of deep grief.  By tending to our needs with a bit of care we feed healthy metabolic avenues that affect the brain and help instead to calm the intense emotions that accompany grief and often shock, even if you thought you were preparing for the inevitable. Knowing how to take care of yourself on the physiological level can mean making or breaking the psychological level. If we can make choices that give us both comfort and nutrition we can maintain or gain enough energy to feel the loss instead of simply jumping back into bed and pulling the covers over your head waiting for the pain to recede. (Although you can do that if you need to, you will most likely crater further which will lead to exhaustion and depression.) And this is when the expressive arts come into play, by choosing to write or sing or act or draw or sculpt we allow our creativity to take us to understand our loss, giving your grief a voice as you allow yourself to feel your emotions, tending to your grief,  and in time move forward. Yes it means focus and work but this is very special journey, and as you feel and grieve your loved one you also feel the gratitude of the time you had together. That's the loss, the joy and comfort, and familiarity, whether you are grateful for their laughter or their hands or the beauty of their eyes know. I wish you the very best on this sacred journey which will teach you so much about life and yourself, ultimately honoring the one who gave you so much.
