Advertise on podcast: Treasuring Christ Church - Sermons

This week, we begin a new sermon series in the book of Nehemiah. This book shows us how God faithfully loves and pursues an unfaithful people. It tells the story of how God's people, by repentance and renewal, return and rebuild the walls of the city of Jerusalem. Along the way, we learn that God wants to use His people, no matter who they are or what challenges they face, to accomplish His good work. In the same way, God faithful pursues us that we might walk in spiritual renewal and take part in the good work He has called us to as His people.

Christians are gospel people. It is the very foundation of who we are and what we do. While Paul was sitting in a prison cell, he wrote to encourage the church at Philippi to remember the gospel and live worth of the gospel. We do this best when we look to Jesus and live with joy, unity, partnership in the gospel. For the remainder of this summer, we will explore the book of Philippians so that we too can be built up in the gospel and live worthy of the gospel.

Over the next two months, we will dive into the Book of James. Some people call James "the Proverbs of the New Testament." It's packed with biblical wisdom for everyday life. Trials, temptation, faith and works, speech, worldliness, wealth, endurance, prayer--this is the stuff we all face every day. In fact, you could say James is a book about everyday Christianity.

On Comeback Sunday at TCC, Pastor Mike Luginbill took us through John 8:12, which was the central verse for Kids Camp. He explained to us how Jesus, is the light of the world.
