This week we save humanity while inventing new words for the deeds we've done. Truely a heartwarming tale of a child's triumph over his human tormentors and nothing else. This week the boys talk about being a boy and the struggles of coming of age while constantly being messed with by all the adults around you. The only option available is, of course, overwhelming force. We're going to win this battle and all other battles to come! Much like actual RPG's level 2 is kind of just there to space out level one and level three. Dungeon Crawler Carl...greatest literary epic of our age or overrated generic litrpg. This week we're discussing a book that jumps around a bit by talking in a way that jumps around a bit. It's one of the few non-fiction books we cover and I get why. I figured it out. This is what the patrons wanted. I hope that this is what they wanted. Be sure to let Ben know how wrong he is for his opinions. Not Nate though. Ben and Chy discuss The Way of Hermes. A new(ish) translation of The Corpus Hermeticum and The Definitions of Hermes Trismegistus to Asclepius. Don't know what these things are? I'm honestly not sure if anyone does. *Correction to episode: I accidentally conflate the Nag Hammadi find of the gnostic texts in Egypt with The Dead Sea Scrolls find in the Qumran Caves. The larger point about the mystique around the Dead Sea Scrolls is valid, but I'm off about the circumstances of the find.  Support the show Blue Sky - https://bsky.app/profile/wordsaboutbooks.bsky.social Discord - https://discord.gg/6BaNRtcP8C Threads - https://www.threads.net/@wordsaboutbookspodcast Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/wordsaboutbookspodcast Blog - https://blog.wordsaboutbooks.ninja/

How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand... there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep, that have taken hold... Others can be rectified by a well-armed militia. This is of those.
