Advertise on podcast: Love Beyond Time: Exploring our multidimensional relationships

Artful poetry inspires the heart and mind, but when it reaches for the Transcendent, our souls are carried aloft. In this presentation, Dianne Skafte shares metaphysical verses she has loved across the decades. Authors include Dante Gabrielle Rosetti, Rabindranath Tagore, Angela Morgan, John Masefield, and other writers, famous and obscure, who open doorways to expanded realms.

We may feel impelled to stay in a relationship we cannot understand. Our interactions with the other person keep us off balance, but saying goodbye feels difficult or impossible. For example, you can fall in love with someone who is not free to be yours. Or you may find yourself devoting great amounts of time and support to an individual you don't really love--or even like very much! Perhaps you are involved with someone who has psychological problems or is caught in a messy situation. Your life surely would be more peaceful without that person, but you can't bring yourself to leave. How do you make sense of paradoxical relationships like these? Naturally you begin by examining your own feelings, motivations, and inner patterns, maybe with the help of a counselor. But if you still sense that a deep mystery is at work, you probably are right! You may be operating under a karmic contract. This is an agreement made between you and your soul to carry out certain actions or to have certain experiences in a relationship. It exerts a strong influence on whom you will draw into your life and how your interactions will unfold. Although you always have free will to leave a person, your soul's contract will encourage you to remain in that relationship until you have completed an inner task. In this episode, Dr. Skafte explains how karmic contracts shape our feelings and actions. She recounts the astonishing story of Arthur, whose unhappy marriage led him to recognize a vow his soul had made "long ago and far away." Then his life changed forever. Dr. Skafte will present you with three questions to help determine whether your relationship is operating under a karmic contract. She will offer suggestions on how to fulfill your soul-vows in ways that benefit your life and set you free. About the author: Dianne Skafte holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. She is a retired professor of depth psychology and is the author of numerous publications, including Listening to the Oracle: Receiving guidance from the signs and symbols all around us (Harper SanFrancisco, 1997.) You may receive impressions about a person that seem to come from "elsewhere." The light catches a young girl's face in a certain way, and you see a wise old woman in her.  Your father can suddenly feel like your son, or a friend can evoke vivid images of living in ancient Rome. These experiences are echos of past life connections you have shared with someone. Paying attention to them can help you remember amazing dramas lived and lessons learned in your soul's long history. Dr. Skafte tells us about April, who deeply resented and distrusted her older sister "for no good reason." April's psychic journey back to the time of Napoleon revealed a story so dramatic that she never could have imagined it. Yet it changed her life and opened her heart to the sister she truly loved.      In this episode, you will learn to recognize when and how a past life portal opens. You will be offered ways to expand the images you receive so that the bigger picture is revealed. Problems in a relationship can find greater healing when their multidimensional realities are understood. And you will begin to see the full splendor of your timeless bonds with those you love.   About the author: Dianne Skafte holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. Our bonds of connection with each other exist on many levels at once, extending far beyond this present time and place. Their influences soak into our relationships like dyes on a cloth. They help us recognize kindred souls in a world of strangers. They attract mentors, friends, lovers, and perhaps adversaries into our lives. But their ultimate purpose is always to develop our soul's canvas into a sublime work of art. In our first episode, we delve into a beautiful mystery that many of us have experienced: meeting a stranger who feels deeply familiar to your soul. You will learn to recognize signs that multidimensional forces are at work in your relationship. Dr. Skafte shares her personal story of how extraordinary events led her to a mentor who changed her life. Once we have seen and felt the power of soul connections, we never again can doubt the reality of love beyond time. About the author: Dianne Skafte holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado.
