The Interstitial: 5 Ways We Deny Our Power
2026/04/14
In this final farewell episode, I share my thoughts on five specific ways women can cut ourselves off from our own power - plus share my reflections on hosting this show for the last 6 years. A few takeaways:
Denying our deepest desires is often fueled by an understandable fear of losing the relationships we feel are most important to us, but doing so also comes at a great cost to our soul's growthEmbodied wisdom is available to all of us, but takes practice and repetition to hear and accessWhy so many women are afraid to fully feel our emotions - and the benefits from actually letting them flow through us insteadCultivating relationships with land, ancestors, and the unseen realms takes patience and practice, and can make our journeys much less difficultThe incredible benefits of living from a place of truth, authenticity, and power, plus how this often looks different from how we might imagine power to show up.
So much gratitude to all who have tuned in to this show over the years! Wishing you so many blessings on your journey. I'm still offering 1:1 coaching, and can be reached via my website: www.hometoher.com

The Power of Wise Women with Dominique Debroux
2026/03/02
On the latest episode I’m joined by Dominique Debroux, a producer, entrepreneur, and nutritional chef whose work bridges storytelling, science, and women’s empowerment. She is also the producer of the new documentary Wise Women – Humanity’s Untold Origins, reframing menopause as the evolutionary foundation of female leadership. Through her film, food ventures, and advocacy, she champions women’s vitality and visibility in midlife.

The misunderstood role of menopause in human evolution, and why it’s important to understand it not as nature’s mistake, but as an important evolutionary development that uniquely positions women to lead later in lifeDominique’s revelatory experience of God at the age of six, and how it shaped her spiritual journey, including her understanding of the Sacred FeminineDominique’s own journey through perimenopause and menopause, and how it ultimately inspired the film Wise Women. The devastating impact of patriarchy, and how we might envision a different, more balanced futureThe power of inner wisdom, self-permission and why it’s more important than ever that we claim our voices.

The Sure Thing: Prioritizing Pleasure with Elana Auerbach
2026/02/03
The first episode of 2026 is here! I'm joined by my longtime friend and mentor Elana Auerbach, a lover, mother, mentor, activist, and priestess, and the author of the new book The Sure Thing: A Pleasure Practice to Revive the Spark.
On this episode, we discuss:
Elana's spiritual journey, and the braided path of her spiritual experiences with Judaism, the Divine Feminine and as a longtime student of Zen Her own awakening to the Sacred Feminine, beginning with a brief mystical experience during her Bat Mitzvah, and continuing through her training with the 13 Moon Mystery School Her exploration of pleasure as a sacred practice, including the experiences that led to her meeting her now-husband, their brief time spent in a sex cult, and how the Sure Thing was born out of a desire to rekindle intimacy and connection after many years of marriage How shame and uncertainty often block women's embrace of pleasure - and how we can address this Why embracing pleasure can be seen as a radical and celebratory form of activism, and how it can sustain us during difficult times.

The Interstitial: How We Become Free
2025/12/10
On this short Interstitial episode, I riff on what’s been alive for me since my most recent conversations with Sophie Messager (on reclaiming drumming) and Ash Stinson (on embodiment and listening to the body). Jumping off from these dialogues, I'm holding a a central question here: How do we, as women, become truly free within systems that were never designed with us in mind?
Key Points:
My own understanding of liberation in three parts - awakening, reckoning with inequities, and consciously choosing how to operate within toxic systems, including determining how and when to withdraw consent What it means to awaken to the reality that most systems were built without the participation and input of womenThe importance of taking time moving through the emotions that arise - but also moving on when ready The tricky dance between participating in systems while you have to, while honestly assessing your available power to enact change
Key Questions to Consider:
Am I waiting for permission to show up differently?Am I waiting for it to feel easy or comfortable before I follow my truth?Do I actually have more freedom and power than I’m giving myself credit for?

The Realms of Embodiment with Ash Stinson
2025/11/10
The Realms of Embodiment with Ash Stinson
On this episode – which has been in the making for a long time – Ash Stinson and I explore the profound themes of the sacred feminine, embodiment, and the intricate layers of wisdom held within our bodies. Ash is an energy worker, a creator, a deep feeler and a deep thinker, a parent, and an expert on healing through the energy of your anatomy.
Ash's personal and professional life functionally revolves around one question: What gives us a sense of place? She studied and worked in Environmental Science, habitat preservation, and Landscape Architecture until her Saturn Return coupled with a twin pregnancy catapulted her into postpartum PTSD, and she finally got the cosmic memo – you can't create belonging in your backyard if you're lost in your own skin.
A decade of study, Reiki Master level certification, apprenticeship with her ancestors, and a certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy later, Energy Archaeology and the Realms of Embodiment were born. Ash now spends her days exploring the energetic anatomy and morphology of the body, from the bones, muscles, fluid systems, organs, nervous system, and DNA and translating it so you can understand your mythosomatic self and belonging within the wider energetic fabric of life.
We dive deep on this episode, exploring:
· Ash’s own personal and spiritual background, including the traumatic experience of her own birth and how it ultimately prepared her for the work she does now
· How the Realms of Embodiment – Ash’s current work – was born out of an initial exploration of Reiki following a challenging birth experience with her twins
· The different areas of the Realms of Embodiment, and what each has to teach us
· Why it’s not so simple to just “listen to your body”
· The “yes-and” approach to embracing the wisdom of energy medicine and Western medicine
· Ash’s simple, three-step process to begin listening to your own body

Picking Up the Drum with Sophie Messager
2025/10/21
In this particularly rich conversation, I’m joined by Sophie Messager, author of the new book The Beat of Your Own Drum (Womancraft Publishing). A former reproductive physiologist with a PhD, Sophie traded her microscope for a medicine drum after experiencing the transformative power of an empowered birth. Her decade-long journey as a doula, birth educator, and author of Why Postnatal Recovery Matters deepened her exploration of the rhythms surrounding women’s transitions.
Now a holistic life transition mentor, Sophie guides women through significant life thresholds – from birth to perimenopause and beyond. Her unique combination of scientific expertise and spiritual insight allows her to serve as a compassionate space holder for those seeking to harmonise their analytical and intuitive selves.
On this episode we explore:
The complex and intersecting themes of sacred feminine wisdomThe journey of reclaiming women's power, and the transformative role of drumming in spiritual practicesSophie’s personal experiences from her Catholic upbringing to her journey as a doula and holistic life transition mentorThe historical context of women's roles in drumming and spirituality, and how reclaiming this practice can be an essential step for women in owning their voices and power in a patriarchal society.
Key Takeaways
Sacred Feminine wisdom is applicable in all areas of life.Understanding women's power from a feminine lens is crucial, and women’s sacred stories can help us do this.Sophie fascinating journey from science to holistic practices, and how it demonstrates that we can hold space for both.Drumming can be a powerful tool for women's empowerment. While the history of women and drumming is often overlooked, it’s real – and your birthright to know about. While women often feel scared to drum due to ancestral trauma, trusting yourself is the key to spiritual growth and personal evolution.Creating your own drum can be a transformative experience – but you can also start with a storebought one. You don’t need lessons or a prescriptive path to start.

The Interstitial: Magic and Purpose
2025/10/16
Introducing The Interstitial: short episodes intended to explore the spaces in between the last episode and the next.
My latest conversation with Danielle Dulsky got me thinking about two things: magic and purpose. Here I consider the role of magic in our lives, as well as what it means to lean into our singular purpose during times of chaos and change.
Key Takeaways:
Magic can empower us to co-create our lives.
We control the stories we tell about our experiences.
Reclaiming our relationship with magic is a deeply human and feminine act.
In chaotic times, focus on what is yours to do.
Purpose can manifest in various forms, not just one.
Living with care and presence is sufficient.
Our contributions are part of a larger narrative.
The divine feminine operates in deep time and rhythms.
Trusting our guidance is essential for personal growth.

2025/10/08
On this episode, I’m joined again by Danielle Dulsky, a prior Home to Her guest, as we explore the themes of women's wisdom, the significance of fairy tales, and the role of storytelling in shaping our understanding of the world. Danielle’s new book, The Night House: Folklore, Fairy Tales, Rites, and Magick for the Wise and Wild, serves as a focal point for our discussion, as we consider the connection between creativity, magic, and the feminine experience. We also talk about the hidden and sometimes subversive power within fairy tales, the importance of shadow work, and how these stories can help us navigate the complexities of modern life. We also talk about why Danielle believes we each have one important thing to do in this lifetime, and why it’s so important to protect our creative potential in these uncertain times. As Danielle says, “we need to get weirder.”
Key Takeaways

· Women's wisdom and power have been minimized and pushed underground.
· Fairy tales hold hidden wisdom and power for women.
· The Night House explores the connection between fairy tales and women's experiences.
· Stories can be a way to access and embody our full power.

· Asking questions about stories reveals insights about our lives.
· The current cultural moment calls for a return to women's wisdom.
· Magic exists in subtle forms and is often dismissed in modern culture.

Seeking the Spiritual Mother with Rebe Huntman
2025/03/14
On this episode, I'm joined by Rebe Huntman, a memoirist, essayist, dancer, teacher, and poet who writes at the intersections of feminism, world religion and spirituality. For over a decade she directed Chicago’s award-winning Danza Viva Center for World Dance, Art & Music and its dance company, One World Dance Theater. Huntman collaborates with native artists in Cuba and South America, has been featured in Latina Magazine, Chicago Magazine, and the Chicago Tribune, and has appeared on Fox and ABC. She is also the author of a new memoir, My Mother in Havana, about her explorations in seeking not only her human mother, who died when she was 19, but also a deeper relationship with the Divine Mother.
On this episode we discuss:
How Rebe’s path to the Sacred Feminine revealed itself through her evolving relationship with Latin dance – including how she discovered that the dances themselves were originally invitations to the godsRebe’s transformational journey in Cuba, including her experiences meeting the Orisha Oshun, and Our Lady of Charity of El CobreHow Oshun, who originates from the West African Yoruba tradition, and Our Lady, who is considered an apparition of the Virgin Mary, are syncretized – and how this merging can give us a more holistic vision of mothers and women in generalRebe’s evolving relationship with her deceased mother, and why it’s both normal and natural to call on our deceased loved ones for support

The Flow State of the Feminine with Ixchel Munay
2025/02/27
On episode 100 of the Home to Her podcast, I'm joined by Ixchel Munay, who has spent more than 20 years walking the path of plant medicine, conscious living and supporting thousands of people around the world in her immersions and sessions to come home to themselves. Through her work, Ixchel draws upon her initiations with yoga, meditation, tantra, shamanism, magic, somatic therapy, dance, breath work, NLP, non-violent communication, permaculture, natural medicine, neuroscience and more. She’s spent nearly the past 20 years of her life based in Bali, the mystical land of her father’s ancestors. For the past four years she’s been spending half the year in Costa Rica devoted to creating Yacumama ("Mother of Water") - a regenerative community land project that hosts transformational experiences.
On this episode we discuss:
Ixchel's introduction to the Sacred Feminine via her experience meeting Amma, the hugging saint, and her work with a tantric master in BaliHer experience with plant medicines and the value they offer us currently, as well as why it's so important to approach them medicine with respect and via a credible teacherWhy she believes the feminine is the flow state that athletes describe, and how when we step into it, our divine path unfolds much more easilyThe ways women have been disconnected from our bodies, particularly through birth control and medicated childbirth Her work with Yacumama, and her vision for it in terms of land regeneration and as a cultural center to preserve and teach indigenous ways of being
