The long wait was not worth it. If you were excited to watch this new look Kings like Owen was, you were left deeply disappointed. The Kings curb stomped by the Lakers and looked helpless on both ends of the floor. It's an eerily similar feeling and look on the court to last year's team and you just hope the presence of Murray, Monk and Simmons can alleviate some of those issues. But even in the darkness there are specks of light, namely Darius Acuff who looks like the real deal. We'll have more games to judge what this team ultimately will be. The Kings have become the Ben Simmons show as he has gotten the most national media attention as he prepares to make his return to the NBA after a year off. There are also a bunch of other stories coming out of training camp that Owen and Fong discuss. They then make their predictions on the season as a whole such as who will win MVP and which teams will make the conference finals in the East and West. They also talk about the PAC tribute show that AEW ran on Wednesday and suffice to say, it was a high quality show with plenty to appreciate. Well it's picture day, aka Media Day. A place where everyone comes in optimistic (unless you're a Kings fan) and excited for the infinite possibilities before the season gets underway. Owen and Fong talk about some of the takeaways they had from Media Day. Next, they discuss the unexpected passing of PAC, formerly Neville in WWE, real name Benjamin Satterley. They then end with some NFL talk about the 3-0 Niners and the upstart 3-0 Raiders. The season is almost upon us, so it's time for some predictions! Owen and Fong prediction the rotation for the Kings going into the season, as well as talk about what they expect the Kings and how many games they think they'll win this season. The Jalen Duren situation refuses to go away. What started as a pipe dream at best is maybe becoming the slightest possibility? Kings also signed Elfrid Payton to compete for a roster spot. Owen and Fong talk all that plus what's been happening in the wrestling world and WWE maybe finding a spark to jolt their product? They then end talking about Fong's trip to New York this past week. In another edition of scattered thoughts, Owen talks about Ben Simmons becoming a King and whether it's a game changer or not. He also talks about other guys they could have signed and then for fun, about Bradley Beal getting Chris Paul's number for the Clippers. It is know as one of the worst WWE Pay Per View events of all time. And unfortunately Sacramento was the unfortunate city to hold said event. Owen and Fong rewind back to October 6, 2019, where they not only go through the event and every match that took place, including the ill fated Fiend vs Seth Rollins match. Because we are Sac Kings Therapy, they also talk about where the Sacramento Kings were at this point. And you'll likely be surprised with what we found in this period of the Pre-Beam Team Kings. It's now September and while the Kings aren't involved in any big stories, there's always bread crumbs if you're looking for them. This week they were mentioned on the Hoop Collective podcast about their involvement in the Jalen Duren negotiations and how their cap space next year can play a role. Sabonis also got a new agent who we can say is very good at his job. Owen and Fong then talk about the NBA dropping the guillotine on the Clippers for their cap circumvention investigation and then they end by talking about what they loved from All In 2026 that happened over the weekend. It's not an NBA summer until we see clips of Ben Simmons unleashing jumpers in an empty gym. And it only makes sense for the Kings to get involved at some point, and that time seems to be now as Scott Perry was at a workout. In other news, All In is this weekend so Owen and Fong give their predictions. They then talk about the big EDP documentary by Mike Clum that dropped about a week ago and it's ... something. And finally they end the podcast talking about all the weirdness surrounding the 49ers as of late. Well all good things come to an end, the Kings had a short period of normalcy in a sea of chaos across the NBA but the news hit in the middle of week that the Kings were being sued by a former employee Crystal Lee for wrongful termination. Meanwhile on the basketball side the Kings are working out Cam Payne and Elfird Payton this week in an attempt to find their 3rd point guard. And in a little bonus that happened after the main recording, Owen goes over his thoughts on Demar DeRozan to the Nuggets and Klay Thompson to the Heat. August is usually the slowest and most boring part of the NBA calendar. Not so much this year as we get the news of Russell Westbrook retiring after 18 years and Mark Walters selling Lakers after purchasing them 14 months ago. It's been a weird year to say the least. Owen and Fong then review what was a pretty dramatic end to the 3rd season of House of the Dragon. Well it's finally here after many delays, the worst 5 losses of the Kings 2025-26 season. There were a lot to choose from, 62 to be exact, so which ones stood out to Owen and Fong? They then move to a myriad of topics including Enes Freedom declaring for the WNBA Draft and all the undertones that exist within this announcement.
