Left Alone to Smell What You Want
2026/10/22
Send us Fan Mail What would YOU do if given a free pass without any accountability? No sneaking around, hiding food wrappers you're ashamed of — simply the liberty of spending your precious two-minute segments of life exactly as you want. Apparently, David is drawn to smelling stuff without getting caught. On behalf of all of us who live in civilized society, can we give a round of applause to St Betsy for offering loving restraints on her potentially reckless but hilarious husband. The Nutella is yours!
Innocent Stupidity
2026/10/16
Send us Fan Mail David claims to have a disorder that may or may not be an official psychological category. His cozy relationship with a popular magazine seems to justify his assertion that he is afflicted with "Innocent Stupidity." However uncomfortable it was to hear about the particular experiences he used to describe this disorder (asking a teenage Walmart worker where the Dudewipes can be found??), let's applaud his willingness to submit to scrutiny so science can help him…and us.
Sounds that Enrage Us (Some of Us)
2026/10/08
Send us Fan Mail Every once in a while, David tosses a bone of professional courtesy to Dr Dave. It's largely disingenuous. But today's episode dove into a genuine emotional health concern that some people have when they try to assume control over the motherboard of sounds around them. David's best attempts to imitate the offending noises did not incite his pod-partner. But it did lead to new schemes about how to engage in shrewd psychological warfare.
Cub Fans are Marsh-wiggles
2026/10/01
Send us Fan Mail Apologies to any listeners who simply don't understand why baseball—Cubs baseball, to be exact—has such a grip on our hearts. Feel free to reach out to our long-suffering wives for support. And we humbly invite your prayerful intervention on our behalf…especially if we need an exorcism. But the season ended for us last night and we have officially begun our off-season of mourning. CS Lewis invented the perfect character to describe our woeful life as fans. Just don't ask David to remember its name.
The Belt Angel from Kentucky
2026/09/24
Send us Fan Mail Once you survive the scat storm we enjoyed at the beginning of this episode (was there ever a genre of music more fitting to describe the interaction we have here as we Freshly Catch whatever?), there's an epic story from David's recent comedy gig in Lagrange, KY. Massive shout out to Randy, the guy who saved the show. Lots of hard laughter here and apologies (if necessary) to David's two sisters.
No Fault Tardiness
2026/09/18
Send us Fan Mail Loyal listeners, we promise you nothing but fresh material. It's the very core of our podcast, baked into our name. So we could pre-record some pablum when we know our Thursday uploads can't be done in a week. But we don't. Fresh. That's who we are. David excused Dr Dave's 24 hour delay for what he thought was a worthy reason. But does David's 12 minute tardiness for our meet up this morning deserve the same pass? We need our blue-collar audience to weigh in. And don't mix your potty time with your favorite game.
Eyes, Voice Tones, & Mongols
2026/09/10
Send us Fan Mail No surprise to loyal listeners that we skipped around a bit. This might explain why, after checking us out for five minutes, YouTubers say, "nope." If it's due to our poor fashion, we're working on it. If it's because we don't deliver enough eye contact to convince you how sincere we are, we took steps today to improve. The vocal wanderings–especially mimicry–we are probably not going to put restraints on David's frequent leaps into bad impressions. Here's hoping Mongols everywhere find us a delightful fit to their music.
Roger, Our Champion
2026/09/03
Send us Fan Mail Last Friday, five of us crammed into Roger's car and drove up and back to Wrigley Field. The Reds beat the Cubs. But that's not one of the headlines we talked about in this episode. Let's be clear: each of us at some point in our story-telling remembrance doesn't look that great. But we sure did re-giggle as we tried our best to paint the picture of our roadtrip for loyal listeners. At the end of the day (literally), Roger earned MVP accolades from everyone except the snoozing Ron Coffey and a passive-aggressive toll booth voice.
Crashing David's Birthday Party
2026/08/27
Send us Fan Mail Dolly died on Tuesday. August 25 will be remembered for years to come as the day a beloved and iconic entertainer added her incomparable voice to heaven's choir. Our most loyal listeners know that David's filters have largely been shredded. And now there's no hope for this date to be headlined as his birthday, which it is. The Bible's Golden Rule says we should only do to others what we want them to do to us. At least we recorded that what David wants from us when he dies is exactly what he offered as we celebrated Dolly…and forgot a comedian from Huntington who turned 61.
"Snuggle up, Mother… let me peek at your tramp stamp…"
2026/08/20
Send us Fan Mail The visuals in our Zoom recorded experience were so exceptional today that we may explore how to deliver FC 2.0 on YouTube. Picture David moisturizing before his sultry, throaty whisper to his lady while imagining he's taking a long draw on a cigarette (a prop pen in his hand taking the place of the genuine tobacco stick). His exposure to neighbor scrutiny is self-inflicted. By cruising through town in his topless Jeep, David provokes reactions. He loves doing this. Just ask St. Betsy.
This Is Who I Want You To Think I Am
2026/08/13
Send us Fan Mail We tiptoed dangerously close to the precipice where old men grouse about all that has changed (for the worst) from their good old days. The target catching most of our ire seemed to be centered around the technological creep we are all experiencing. David may be getting sucked in. His inaugural voyage in a Phoenix Waymo was downright pleasant and his 14-yr old grandson is trying to open his eyes—even that wandering one—to glasses that can do anything. Except make people believe the fiction they post about themselves.
Words: Do They Really Matter So Much?
2026/08/06
Send us Fan Mail As much as we enjoy delivering weekly podcasts of distinction (emphasize the "stink" sound), one of us actually has to work for a living. So this week's episode featured The Comedian in conversation with Dr Dave while awaiting his flight to Phoenix. He gets to be funny in front of some strangers. It's been a really rough recent few weeks for David. Upcoming performances will be a challenge. But after coaching St Betsy through password navigation and sob-mumbling a nonsensical declaration to a grieving son recently, he'll find something to say.
How David Looks Like Adam (Eden's Original)
2026/07/30
Send us Fan Mail This title deserves an asterisk. David was generally not happy with the surgeon's response when he asked why his belly-button no longer exists. A med specialist, for sure, but he drove outside his lane by deflecting with a biblical reference that was intended to cower our beloved comedian into silence. But years later—thanks to the bravery of FC 2.0—he's found his voice. Thankfully, the voice of his one-time Dominican translator found its mark so kids in the Caribbean weren't traumatized.
Smug Brits & Siren Songs
2026/07/23
Send us Fan Mail Give us a listen and then a rating. We're inspired to use 1-star reviews in marketing.  No longer will we be held hostage by the British voices in our head who squash our dreams with their critiques under the guise of genteel respect. Sure, we may be  dazed…even deluded. SIREN spells (trans? Charlize? does it matter?) are powerful. But we are really trying. In fact, under darkness we've heard our spouses rolling their eyes at a volume so loud we know exactly how trying we can be.
"Nope!" David digs in.
2026/07/16
Send us Fan Mail Ahhh! If only we had contracted with some Psychology Today expert to give us feedback based on listening to the podcast today; maybe then David might hear enough to open his heart to the world's beauty. On the surface, of course, this is a soccer reference. But it also shows up in his unwillingness to concede his window seat on a long flight. And—in ways that only a trained therapist might be able to name—somehow the caricature of Joel Osteen is in the mix.
