Episode 173: Flight Hacking
2026/10/05
This week on The Black Men Think Podcast, we're talking travel, money, business, marriage, and learning how to have a little more patience with all of it.
The fellas break down some of the ways we've learned to flight-hack our travel—from finding better fares and being flexible with flights to figuring out when it's actually worth spending more for comfort. That leads to the real question: Is flying first class really worth the money, or have we convinced ourselves that we need it as we get older? 😂
We also discuss the changing airline industry, including the potential impact of Spirit's troubles on domestic travel and what fewer low-cost options could ultimately mean for travelers.
After a Homeboy Check-In, things get more personal as JD opens up about some of the frustrations he's been experiencing with his business and the challenge of staying patient when things aren't moving the way you want them to. That conversation carries over into marriage as he talks about learning to extend that same patience and understanding to his wife.
It's one of those episodes where a conversation about plane tickets somehow turns into a conversation about getting older, expectations, entrepreneurship, relationships, and learning that everything doesn't have to happen on your timeline.

Patreon Exclusive: Choosing The Right Partner
2026/09/28
Our conversation with Walt from Holmes Hydration continues on Patreon as we shift from balancing marriage, fatherhood, and entrepreneurship to the importance of who you choose to build your life with.
We talk about what it means to have a partner who understands your vision, supports your growth, and helps create a strong foundation at home. We also get into the other side of that conversation and how choosing the wrong person can affect your peace, confidence, finances, career, and ability to become the man you’re trying to be.
Walt shares his perspective from his own marriage, while we reflect on how the right relationship isn’t just about love. It’s about partnership, alignment, sacrifice, and having someone beside you who can help you navigate the different seasons of life.
How much of the man you become is influenced by the person you choose to build with?
Episode 172: Retirement Prep
2026/09/07
This week on The Black Men Think Podcast, we're looking ahead and asking ourselves a question we probably should be thinking about more often: Are we actually preparing for the future, or are we just hoping everything works out?
The fellas talk about retirement and what we're doing now to prepare financially for a time when working is no longer the priority. But retirement isn't just about having enough money. We get into preparing our minds and bodies for getting older, taking our health more seriously, and making sure we're actually able to enjoy the life we're working so hard to build.
We also discuss the amount of time and attention we're giving away to social media. Between endless scrolling, notifications, opinions, and algorithms constantly fighting for our attention, how much is it distracting us from the things that actually matter?
It's a conversation about money, health, time, discipline, and being intentional about the men we want to become.
Because preparing for the future isn't just about living longer — it's about being in a position to enjoy it when you get there.

Episode 171: How Much Of Your Life Is Yours?
2026/08/31
This week on The Black Men Think Podcast, we're asking a question that gets harder to answer the older we get: How much of your life is actually yours?
Between being husbands, fathers, employees, entrepreneurs, friends, sons, and the people everyone depends on, it's easy to reach a point where almost every hour of your day belongs to somebody else. We talk about when our time stopped feeling like our own, the hobbies and interests we've sacrificed along the way, and why doing something solely for ourselves can sometimes come with guilt.
We also get into what happens to your individual identity after marriage and children. Can you miss the freedom you once had without wishing for your old life back? Does being married mean your free time automatically becomes our time? And are we giving our wives the same freedom and consideration we expect for ourselves?
The conversation ultimately forces us to confront a bigger question: Have we started measuring our value by how much other people need us?
We love being husbands. We love being fathers. We're grateful for the lives we've built. But gratitude and exhaustion can exist at the same time—and sometimes maintaining the man underneath all those responsibilities is exactly what allows you to keep showing up for everyone else.
So when everybody gets a piece of you... what's left for you?

Episode 170: Not A Kid Anymore
2026/08/24
This week on The Black Men Think Podcast, we're taking a trip back while also realizing just how much life has changed.
The conversation starts with something every parent eventually experiences: the moment your own children start challenging you. From there, we think back to the moments in our own lives when we first realized we weren't kids anymore and adulthood was officially here.
That sends us down memory lane as we talk about what we miss most about high school, our first cell phones, the teachers we had crushes on, and—more importantly—the teachers who genuinely made an impact on the men we eventually became.
It's a conversation about growing up from both sides. We can now look back at the kids we used to be while raising children of our own, and sometimes those two perspectives make you see your childhood completely differently.
When was the first moment you realized you weren't a kid anymore?

Episode 169: "Troubled" Youth
2026/08/17
This week on The Black Men Think Podcast, Corey and JD hold it down and cover everything from everyday frustrations to conversations that hit much closer to home.
The episode starts with a debate about food delivery services like DoorDash and Uber Eats and just how much we trust the cleanliness of the people handling our food. From there, things take a serious turn as we discuss a recent school shooting near our hometown, the 14-year-old accused in the case being charged as an adult, and the complicated emotions that come with deciding how young people should be held accountable for serious crimes.
We lighten things up with some Atlanta Falcons talk and expectations for the upcoming season before closing with a powerful Ask A Black Man call.
Our caller wants to know how to begin repairing his relationship with his father. Now that he has children of his own, he's struggling even more with the way he was treated growing up because he can't imagine treating his own children the same way.
That leads us into a conversation about fatherhood, forgiveness, childhood wounds, and whether becoming a parent can sometimes make it harder to understand the choices our own parents made.

Episode 168: Balancing Entrepreneurship
2026/08/10
This week on The Black Men Think Podcast, we sit down with Walt of Holmes Hydration, a longtime supporter of the show who was in Atlanta for Invest Fest. What started as an opportunity to finally connect in person turned into a real conversation about the different roles Black men are expected to balance.
We talk about entrepreneurship, marriage, fatherhood, and the challenge of building something for yourself while still being present for the people who depend on you. Walt shares his perspective on growing a business, managing his responsibilities at home, and figuring out what balance actually looks like when life is pulling you in multiple directions.
It’s a conversation about ambition, family, sacrifice, and learning how to pursue your goals without losing sight of why you’re working so hard in the first place.

We discuss the realities of today’s music industry, why most artists are either local legends or global superstars, and how understanding your audience is more valuable than chasing viral moments. Episode 164: Father's Day Retreat Me
2026/06/22
In this episode of The Black Men Think Podcast, the fellas record live from our Father's Day Retreat and reflect on something many men struggle with: taking time for themselves without feeling guilty.
What started as a simple getaway quickly turned into a conversation about how difficult it can be for fathers, husbands, and providers to prioritize their own rest and well-being. We discuss the importance of stepping away from responsibilities, making time for brotherhood, and creating space to recharge before burnout sets in.
We also share what it was like planning a weekend just for us, why so many men feel guilty when they aren't being productive, and how taking care of yourself can actually make you better for the people who depend on you.
This episode is a reminder that rest isn't selfish, friendship is necessary, and every man deserves time to refill his cup.

Episode 163: The Weight We Hide
2026/06/15
In this episode of The Black Men Think Podcast, we have an honest conversation about the weight many men carry and why so much of it goes unspoken.
From financial pressure and career uncertainty to family responsibilities, mental health struggles, and the fear of letting people down, we discuss the burdens that often stay hidden from the people closest to us. Are we protecting our partners by keeping these things to ourselves, or are we creating distance in the relationships that matter most?
The fellas share personal experiences, lessons learned, and the challenges of balancing strength, vulnerability, and responsibility as Black men. We also explore what healthy support looks like and why opening up can sometimes be harder than carrying the weight itself.
In our Ask A Black Man segment, we answer the question: How do you open up to your partner when you've spent most of your life handling everything on your own?
This is one of our most transparent conversations yet and one that men and women alike can relate to.

Episode 162: How Much Me Time Do Men Really Need?
2026/06/08
On this edition of Black Men Think After Dark, the fellas kick back and let the conversation go wherever it takes us.
We start by discussing a question every man has probably wrestled with: How much me time do you need to survive the week? From balancing family, work, friendships, and personal responsibilities, we talk about the importance of finding space to recharge and why many men struggle to prioritize it.
The conversation then shifts to the NBA Finals as we break down our predictions, key matchups, and who we think will walk away with the championship.
And because no After Dark conversation stays on track for too long, we somehow find ourselves debating one of life's most important questions: Which restaurant has the best bread? From Texas Roadhouse to Red Lobster and beyond, no basket is safe.

Patreon Exclusive: Money Can't Fix This
2026/06/01
In this episode of The Black Men Think Podcast, the fellas dive into the reality of what happens when you finally make the money you thought would fix everything, and realize it doesn’t.
We unpack the expectations we had growing up about money, from believing it would remove stress and bring happiness to thinking it would solve deeper personal issues. While money does create comfort, access, and stability, the conversation reveals what it can’t fix: mental health, discipline, relationships, and purpose.
The fellas also talk about the new pressures that come with making more, including lifestyle creep, increased responsibility, and the fear of losing what you’ve built. As the discussion evolves, we redefine what wealth really means today, shifting the focus from money to peace, time, and fulfillment.

2026/05/18

From protecting our energy and setting boundaries to choosing stability over chaos, the conversation explores how maturity changes what we value most.
