The French Film Festival UK is starting at the Chichester Cinema at New Park (November 3 to December 11) so the Chichester CineFile podcast is looking ahead at what will be showing as part of the festival, as well as previewing the regular programme at the cinema for the month. There is also a discussion about French cinema in general, and a round up of the education events planned before the end of the year. As well as all this, a listener talks about his unforgettable film – the one that means the most to him.

The programme for the month and education events planned for the autumn are the main focus of the October Chichester CineFile podcast. A diverse selection of films for October are discussed, plus details of events such as the one marking Black History Month – an illustrated talk by the Education Team which will look at the TV adaptations of two novels each by British-Jamaican authors Andrea Levy and Zadie Smith. Other education events discussed are on Indian director Satyajit Ray, Stephen Sondheim and journalists in film. Also acknowledging Black History Month, the podcast team highlight some significant performances by back actors.

With the 29th Chichester International Film Festival drawing to a close, the podcast team’s festival experiences are discussed with operations manager Richard Warburton, while education officer Rosemary Coxon looks forward to a major event planned for October.
